    I built similar frame by myself and realized later the spreading between cards was a bit too tight resulting to more heat bein generated and making any maintenance a bit painful. When I was making my 2nd frame I made it wider and it is so much more comfortable to work on and has way less heat issues.

    6Pins are able to deliver 75W of Power on two 8pins able to get 300w in...no wunder some cables are burning out. A GPU can get 75w from the PCIE means if you split 75W to two risers you will have just 50 percent you need. So there are two options you PSU is able to deliver more..means unsafe for the cables or PSU switches off.

I have been in the bios and set mining to enabled and set the pci slots to gen1. None of the 2 gpus on the riser cards are visible. The only gpu available is the one plugged into the motherboard. I have swapped out riser cards and usb cables, updated the mobo drivers etc. etc. but nothing works. Do you have any videos on this aspect? This is proving to be the most difficult/frustrating part.

    Hi, when you choose for example 6 graphics cards for your rig, must the graphics cards all be exactly the same or can some of them be different so 4 will have 3060 and 2 will have a 3080 ti?
    When you calculate how much your rig mined, you deduct the cost of electric, silly question is that is it deducted from your household electric supplier or is it deducted from the mining platforms?
    Assuming i am using 6 3060 rtxs, how do i calculate its hashrate and what is hashrate and how to calculate it on the electric costs?
    Sounds silly or may have not asked the right questions but as numbers is something im not good at thought it be better to ask the best way i could.
    Also when I am ready to start mining, could you recommend me which platforms to use and mine via through the cloud or the other way?

    isn't connecting 2 8 pins trough 1 6 pin dangerous? The way I set mine up is 2 6 pins for each gpu, 1 6 pin to the riser and 6 or 8 pin for gpu and 1 6 pin to the 8 pin for the gpu.
    I'm just scared of damaging equipment or starting fires.

    • @kidsythe
      @kidsythe 3 года назад

      6 pin is 150 watts and 8 pin is 300 watts. So a 220watt 5700xt needs an 8 pin from the psu and can be split among the splitter and the actual power connector on the card. The riser is 75watts. So that's 145 watts from the power connector on the card. (this is his way) So ideally a 6pin to the riser and a separate 8 pin to the card. To be safe. The way he has it if you wanna risk your investment and your house.

    I’m at a loss here bro and I need help.
    Currently mining with my 3080, but I just can’t get the 3070 to work on my current motherboard. I’ve even tried a seperate bracket to side mount the 3070 and I have the 6 pin to 8 pin extensions and successfully could reach the othe GPU with no problems at all, and the 3070 rgb lights come on but the fans don’t kick on, making the GPU not register at all on the mobo. Just some side notes on the build:
    PSU: Silver rated 750 watt
    CPU: Ryzen 5 2400G
    MOBO: ROG Strix X570-F Gaming
    Ram: 16gb ddr4
    GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Zotac Gaming AMP Holoblack/Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 Gaming X Trio
    I’m starting to thing the CPU is the problem but I’m really stumped on this one.
    I would also like to add that PCIE16 Slot 2 doesn’t pop up at all, but all the other ones do, and both GPU turn on and work fine by themselves in slot 1.

    • @nicolestaylor5544
      @nicolestaylor5544 3 года назад

      I’m happy to announce that I found out the problem. It was the damn CPU all along. I ended up getting a Ryzen 7 3700x and both PCIE instantly popped up. Just turned out I needed a 16 thread processor. Been mining since with both cards and I’m very happy with the results! 160.5 M/H!

    So if I got 6 3090s what motherboard should I get? The Asus can do 8 and then you say dedicated mining cards. What does that mean? I was going to pay $600 for a Asus Expert MB since I can just connect two power ATX power supplies to it easily, but if I can’t run more than 8 3090s should I just save money and get a different MB? If so what MB do you suggest?

      You can put a 1500 watt PSU on 1 GPU the gpu will just use 200 watts of the PSU and 1300 will be left

    My dudes.. I have a beefy single card 3090 setup and wanted to turn into a mining machine. Do i need 6 + cards to make it worth it? .. Also can I turn in the currency into something I can use to pay bills and such? I'm still confused on how mining digital currency makes me money in the present . Thanks

    hi! thanks for the video! technical question: i have just a regular PSU, and there are only 3 PCIe slots and 3 cables for it. These cables are 8 pins female - 2 x 8 pins male. my 3 GPUs are 2 x 8 pins and i am using 1 splitter for each cable and that results - 3 x 8 pins for each cable that can power 1 GPU + 1 riser, so basically 1 cable with splitter for 1 GPU with riser. I am doing this for couple of months. Is it OK? or is super dangerous? thanks
