Hi Alexandra, Congratulations on getting the Leonardo. Goldspot is great. You have so many color choices. Can’t wait to see the Sailor ink you put in her. ❤❤❤
Hi Clare, it is a stunning pen. I ended up putting in Sailor Manyo Nekoyanagi but I think I want something more blue/green in it. Maybe Fuji or Koke, I'm not quite sure but Nekoyanagi seems to be the wrong purple for the pen.
I currently have Monteverde Rose Pink in it though I did have Sailor Nekoyanagi in it for several weeks. I’m finding it really goes with most bright purple, green, pink or blue inks so I think I will probably rotate inks through it fairly regularly.
Congrats on the pen. I don't have any Leonardos. I've never seen one in person. As for inks - Monteverde Rose Pink or FWP Tanzanite. I will be posting on the CFPE site my ink swatches (on Studio, Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Regalia papers as I usually do) of the inks I purchased on Saturday starting tomorrow. I am so happy I bought a bottle of the MV Rose Pink! 🤩
At some point we will have to do a local pen meetup & I will bring it. I love the suggestion of Monteverde Rose Pink! I totally overlooked it as a colour but I think it will work really well with the pen. Monteverde & I will be at the same event in a few weeks so hopefully they will have a bottle of it available for purchase then.
Hope you enjoy your first Leonardo. I love mine. My favorites are the Furore in Bronze and Furore Grande in Positano Blue. I have a Magico in Miele finish. It was actually my first Leonardo as well! :) Also if you ever get a chance at a pen show or from some friend you have that owns one... Try out a Magna Carta Flex nib. They are freaking amazing! As far as ink one of my favorites is Robert Oster Romeo and Juliet.
I am absolutely loving it so far. I am desperately hoping someone at the Atlas Sidewalk Sale has a Magna Carta Flex I can try because they look stunning. I don't own any Robert Oster inks yet but Romeo & Juliet may be my first, from the looks of it, it has stunning shading.
@@alexandrasartinsanity I hope so!! I wish I could meet you at the sidewalk sale, but I can't make it! I live in Illinois but more down south towards St. Louis area. I need to go to the St Louis. pen show next year. Robert Oster inks are underrated to me. The shading most of them have are amazing. There hasn't been an ink yet by them that I didn't care for. Romeo and Juliet has this pink or purple undertone to it that shows up a lot on Tomoe River paper and a bit on Midori MD. Cafe Crema is good by Robert Oster as well and if you have a Kaweco Sport Bronze or Brass, Gold Antiqua is one hell of a fit for it. I strictly only use Gold Antiqua in my Kaweco Supra Brass.
@williamcatalano1762 Robert Oster is actually one of the vendors at this year’s Sidewalk Sale so I will hopefully be able to find it. The event is nowhere close to us either but we like Chicago so it is worth the drive.
These look so good ☺☺

Gorgeous pen, looking forward to which ink you finally choose for it.
