I'm with you...I was kinda bugged at how many people were ripping into Jacob about such a minor detail. But then he rolled with it and it became a good joke.
Emerging from his teepee, the notorious TCB grabs his hand held camera in hopes to discover more gems during his road travels. We, his loyal audience, wait in great anticipation for such an event to occur.
I get so excited to come home and watch your daily adventures. I appreciate all the hard work you put into this! I feel like I’m traveling right along with you. :)
I used to live in Arizona, but moved to Virginia because of my job and this brought back a lot of great memories of traveling on the mother road route 66. A lot of movie history was made in that area too. John Carpenter's 1984 sci fi love story STARMAN was filmed at the Meteor Crater and some scenes from the 1969 counterculture classic EASY RIDER was shot at Sunset Crater, an extinct volcano just north of Flagstaff. Good luck on your trip up to the Grand Canyon. 👍
Loved your intro leaving the wigwam 😃 the meteor crater was incredible! Today's soda Blueberry Cream was my favourite. I adore cream soda and could almost taste it, especially with a wee twist of blueberry 🥰 those hotdogs looked yummy 😍 I absolutely love your channel and think you're an amazing inspirational soul. No matter how bad a day I'm having watching your videos makes me smile so thanks Jacob for that ✨ You are a gift to this world 💖 best wishes and hugs ☀️
What a wonderful episode again. This time, even more than in your interactive adventure, the State of Arizona really has stolen my heart. Now there are two locations i would like to spend the last of my days (yeah, even an old man can dream): Lofoten in Norway Europe, and Arizona U.S. Over the past episodes of the Mother Road, like you said in todays episode, i got the feeling that the glory and myth of Route 66 is crumbling. Parts of the original route are no longer there, large part is now renamed as Interstate 40, Iconic roadside attractions have been abandoned, destroyed, defiled, turned into Mad Max country. Really a shame. i realize with this it must be very difficult for a layman like me, or any first-timer, to find and follow the original Route 66 to an acceptible level. Respect for the knowledge and research you showed here, and what a guide you are! Also i would like to express hope for the future of Route 66. It will still retain its magic for many people for years to come. i truly believe that this interest will indeed revitalise some of the old roadsides, as well as bring some new ones. They may still show the original spirit of Harley Russell, or adapt themselves and grow with the times and tides. Young and old, let's all ride west to explore that great continent, right untill the big ocean. Sweet dreams, deep sleep and blessings to you Jacob!
Jacob, I love your videos. Been watching for a few years and your channel is one of a few to actually take me back to the way it used to be on here. Love it!
I’m gonna guess the Missouri dog maybe a Kansas City style hotdog which apparently is a pork sausage in a sesame seed bun with brown mustard, sauerkraut and melted Swiss. Not gonna lie that sounds amazing.
Yes! And the other statue is a random troubadour...NOT Jackson Browne, even though it looks like him and everyone thinks it is LOL. A lady in one of the gift shops in Winslow told me what they have nicknamed him...but I forgot what she said, ha.
The twist-off bit was the funniest thing you've ever posted. Thanks so much. I resided in Holbrook, back in the 70s , and I really believe it was the model for the Cars Movie. Of course, the wig-wams became big traffic cones. Back then, when one visited the meteor crater, you were allowed to drive the little road around the crater, and many folks would pick up little meteor bits (no longer allowed). However, if you are in that part of Northern Arizona, you can run a magnet through the sand, almost anywhere, and pick up a fair amount of iron -- most of it (not necessarily all) from the meteor.
I’m inspired, I’m feeling exhausted for you, and I’m also excited for the next video. Please be careful out there and know that we absolutely love what you’re doing.
Another great video…so interesting! I would love to see that crater! Your reaction to opening the bottle was too funny, lol…loved it! Can’t wait for the next video! Take care and have fun! 👍🏼
Pop’s!! It’s one of my favorite places! I go visit family in OK every several months and make a trip there! I must’ve missed your video there! Thanks for going to the meteor crater. A friend and I stopped there in our way to the Grand Canyon but we didn’t want to spend the money. Lol
My uncle lives in Arizona. He was a lineman for the telephone company. We have valcano rock from there and a full round piece of petrified wood from the petrified forest. He gave them to us when I was a kid. He lives in Show Low, Az on top of a mountain. We were there in June one summer. It snowed that night and was 70 degrees the next day. Love Arizona.
Ok, I haven't watched the whole video yet, but seeing the thumbnail of you sitting on that jackrabbit with you pointing off into the distance, all I could think of was HI YO SILVER! AWAY!!!
The person who dug for the meteor wasn't a farmer --- he bought the crater with the intent to mine out all the iron. To the best of my knowledge, the crater is still owned by his family. They've made more money by running it as an attraction, than they ever would have by mining --- even if the meteor hadn't vaporized on impact.
My friend in Vermont is a huge Eagles (the band) fan. He may have gone to a couple of their concerts but I have stood on _the_ corner in Winslow, Arizona. (2016)
It's great that you kept in your error about the screw top lids. That's what I love about you, CB, you are a very real person. "The centerpiece of the park is a denim-clad statue named “Easy” holding an acoustic guitar. The statue was created by sculptor Ron Adamson. While it does bear a passing resemblance to Jackson Browne, it is supposed to represent all songwriters. It was installed in September 1999 when the park was dedicated. Winslow commemorates its place in pop culture with a statue of Glenn Frey circa 1972 (the one with long hair) on the corner of Old Hwy 66 (W 2nd St) and Kinsley Ave. Meanwhile, the owners of the Dog Haus in Flagstaff claim their corner as the true location inspiration. Standing on the Corner Park refers to the opening line to one of Eagles’ most iconic songs, from their debut self-titled album. Jackson Browne and Eagles co-founder Glenn Frey wrote Take it Easy in 1971 and it was released as Eagles’ first single in 1972. " MSI I wish you'd have ordered the Missouri dog just to see what's on it. The meteorite place was very interesting. That impact probably caused an ice age. Go to the Grand Canyon. Thanks best video to date.
I have a photo of my Dad at that corner in Winslow with his wife. I am so happy to see the location and hope to go back to Arizona to also take my photo there as well. Flagstaff is a neat town as well. I have been there before. Northern Arizona is a very pretty area. Forest and Desert.
Graffito-tagged again! I am enjoying every minute of your trip. I did this with my kids last summer, and it is so fun to relive it with you on RUclips. Stay safe and have fun!
Resided in St. Louis, MO in my teens, and attended Jr. High School. I can advise that my grill blackened hot dogs were embellished with mustard, diced onions, chili sauce (no beans) and creamy cole slaw. [This is also how many in the South enjoy their "weenies" on a bun.] It's a meal in a toasted bun. Try it, if you get another opportunity, Sir.
I loved seeing you standing on the corner of Winslow Arizona. Funny how you serenaded the painting of the girl in the flatbed Ford. You have a beautiful singing voice. 😂
Wow, I'm surprised that the Jack Rabbit is still in existence. My family went there numerous times when we traveled through Arizona. The place still looks the same - but long ago the original rabbit outside was a big black jack rabbit. Your videos bring back memories.
Good to see the crater again. A place I visited almost 50 years ago. Looks like your enjoying yourself Jacob. Stay safe as you continue on west to Santa Monica.
Your exploration of abandoned places bring them back to life, just like publishers rereleasing their old games. Oh BTW the original Angry Birds is back. I thought at least one person here would be interested in hearing that.
A Missouri dog is a fine dining experience. It involves a price of generic white bread that breaks when you fold it over with a slathering of cheap ketchup and mustard topped with the finest of sliced plastic cheese, warmed up in the microwave but not quite enough to melt the cheese. Bon appetite
I’m sorry Jacob The Carpetbagger, I just got a new phone, now I have to resubscribe to everyone I’m already subscribed to. You were the first person I was thinking of. Safe travels my friend.
To me, a lifetime Missouri resident, a Missouri hot dog is sauerkraut, sweet pickle relish, chopped white onions and mustard. Not sure if you've ever been there, but when you come through St. Louis, stop at Woofies to satisfy your hot dog crave.
Great video! I went to all of these places AND I stayed in the same exact Wigwam (#14!) when I did a Route 66 trip - in fact, it was March 31st 2021 LOL. Sad to see one of the arrows has fallen though - that one that fell didn't have an arrow head - just the other one that is still standing does. Probably just rotted from the elements. I hope they fix that...I know in the past people have. They really are iconic. Can't wait to watch the rest of this trip's adventures! :)
Hey, buddy! Remember when I mentioned Newt mentioned you and your vlogs on Hack the Movies because he's a fan and you said you were a fan too? Well, he's got his own channel Shock And Awe Films and during his Morbius review he ended up talking more about you and your The Thing vlog than the movie! I just wanted to let you know. I told Newt I'd let you know. 😊
Jackson Brown helped the Eagles write Take it Easy and Williams , Arizona was the last town to be bypassed by Interstate 40 in 1984 a year before Route 66 was decommissioned.
Our whole family loves to watch your videos. Looks like you will soon be going through my hometown of Kingman soon and my son (6) thinks that is very cool... Anyway, I would would be very interested to see what your road tripping audio playlist looks like, maybe something you could hit on one of these days, or possibly a spotify playlist link in the future? We hope you have safe travels!
I enjoyed your video of Meteor Crater and Flagstaff. Growing up in Flagstaff you missed so much but I know your time is limited. The reason Northern Arizona University has a "muffler man" in front of the Skydome is because they are the NAU Lumberjacks (looks like a lumberjack). There are a couple more spread around the campus. Also, the Skydome itself is the largest all wooden structure in the world. Best of luck at the Canyon tomorrow. By the way, really good lunch at Fred Harvey Burger inside the Bright Angel Lodge. It's right on the rim and in the Summer the Elk come right up to the windows and stick their heads in looking for treats. Too early in the season for that. Another decision when you reach Kingman....keep heading west or slide on up to Vegas.
Brother, my comment is addressing your past video from 2 weeks ago where you opened up to your viewing audience. Love your honesty and candor. You are a good soul, and I will back your play any day! I mean that! Anytime you stick your head above the crowd there will ALWAYS be a small percentage of people to try and knock you back down! It's a given. The trick is to not give it a voice or any energy as if it never happened. Now, onto your video format. People love to whisper under their breath when you present a video. "OH, I didn't know that"! Once they say that you've got their attention. So present things where people say that to themselves. Just a thought my brother. Invest your money wisely so it can pay you! Message me back and I will give you some free tips! I'm 57 yr old male living in Virginia. I write this comment from my heart and not my wallet! Keep up the good work! Yes, take off some time for yourself also..You've earned it!
Hi ,..this is craig those DAWGS LQQKED! Incredible!! Bad news is just looking at them gave me post acid reflux 3 days ago !! But, I just watched your video 10mins ago !! ..,.. Oh! Holy crap !!!
We took a drive to the grand canyon back in 2019 all the way from Manitoba, Canada. Google maps brought us down a gravel road to the bottom. Not many people have been to the bottom! Really enjoy the videos Jacob! Keep it up!
That moment whenever you were saying everyone in the comments were wrong about popping the top on your soda, and then you realizing that they were right was the funniest thing I've ever seen in my life ps I love you and your channel so very much
Nice vid. Your vids are always quite interesting. Thank you for sharing. When I heard when you were in the mid-west that gas prices were like $3.25 and rising as you travel westward, get ready for California. I do not want to spoil the surprise but if you need gas before California, best to get it. Of course, it varies within county, but in Los Angeles it's about $6.20 to $7.50 on average. Thanks for commenting on the graffiti, it is quite sad to see places vandalized. The 1940 style historical diners look so cool. To bad they are not restored. Have a good trip you are almost in SM.
I believe the twin arrows have been restored at least once. I think the twin arrows casino (across the road) now owns the old trading post. I'm pretty sure the world's biggest log building is the Old Faithful lodge at Yellowstone.
I am really enjoying these videos. You sir, are living my dream. I would love to be able to make a living keeping a blog of my travels across the country, hitting all the tourist traps and local foods. Stay safe in your travels, and keep the videos coming!
Loved your reaction with the twist top and the Winslow, Arizona medley ;). I agree with the graffiti. It's unfortunate and inappropriate. Take the even the best, most beautiful graffiti and have them do that to your home, car or business. Now, how do you feel? Do it to your own property and not others. It costs them time, money customers for the places still open.
Came here to say that ! When they were building it, Jackson actually stated he did not want it to look exactly like him, he would rather it was representative of natives in the area.
Don't worry Jacob you aren't the only one whos done it with the bottle caps, when the first started appearing here on Budwisers I kept popping the caps the old fashioned way even with the twist picture staring me right in the face. One thing I'm starting to learn about 66 cuisine is you better like Hot dogs and sausages in general otherwise there maybe parts where you go hungry, fortunately for me I'm partial to them especially something called a Cheeswurst which is a Bratwurst with a cheese centre and if you can get a hot version of the Curry ketchup or just a Chilli or hot BBQ sauce it is to die for.
I want to start vlogging now lol looks like your having tons of fun. Gas in Ohio in some places is 3.99 out west I hear in California its about 6.00 & L.A area 8.00
See you in the Grand Canyon. I went there once and it had a good visit Bility but it also had black gnats that swarmed anything white and of course my car was white and I was wearing white… Where’s something darker like a dark T-shirt just in case lol
After having been, and bought soda at the Pop Shop I can vouch for Jacob. many of the pops at the pop shop are NOT twist off tops, only a few are twist off.
There is legitimate surprise on your face when that pop lid twisted off 😂.
Jacob, the look on your face when your unscrewed the lid on the soda was priceless! Love this trip you are taking across Rt. 66. Stay safe and enjoy!
I'm with you...I was kinda bugged at how many people were ripping into Jacob about such a minor detail. But then he rolled with it and it became a good joke.
Lol
Lol Jacob is like a lost possum on the road of life 🤣🤣🤣
These vlogs bring me so much joy. Does anybody else find Jacob to be super calming and relaxing?
He's Awesome Man!👍😎Greetings from Helsinki, Finland 🇫🇮🇺🇸🇫🇮🇺🇸🇫🇮🇺🇸

i loved you singing on the corner in winslow arizona!!! loving it !!
I’m gonna guess the Missouri dog maybe a Kansas City style hotdog which apparently is a pork sausage in a sesame seed bun with brown mustard, sauerkraut and melted Swiss. Not gonna lie that sounds amazing.
Thank you, that singing montage made my day. 😄
The long haired statue is Glen Fry, of Eagles fame, when he wrote "Take It Easy", added after he passed in 2016.
Yes! And the other statue is a random troubadour...NOT Jackson Browne, even though it looks like him and everyone thinks it is LOL. A lady in one of the gift shops in Winslow told me what they have nicknamed him...but I forgot what she said, ha.
That crater was one of the filming locations used for John Carpenters sci fi classic Starman, staring Jeff Bridges and Karen Allen, great movie

Omg dude you serenading to the statue, tire and painting was so beautiful 😆
7:18. Oh this is 👏 AWESome! Jacob singing “Come on baby, don’t say maybe…” (the Eagles song) ❤️
Welcome (back) to Arizona! 😊
That was amazing Jacob, thanks!
Love this section of 66 ...my wife &I spent a few days there traveling around Winslow Az
Ok, I haven't watched the whole video yet, but seeing the thumbnail of you sitting on that jackrabbit with you pointing off into the distance, all I could think of was HI YO SILVER! AWAY!!!
I choose to believe that the bottle wasn’t a twist off but JCB wrestling grip strength made it so

If no one’s answered, pretty sure the statue is of Jackson Browne the writer of the song.
A friend lives nearby.
Came here to say that ! When they were building it, Jackson actually stated he did not want it to look exactly like him, he would rather it was representative of natives in the area.
I love Route 66 adventures
That meteor was huge about 98- 164 feet in diameter. Can not imagine another one like that hitting earth again
Another amazing video. Thanks for sharing.
27:38 don’t forget Winona
Loving all of the route 66 videos
More needs to preserve the history of the route too much has been lost
Dang, we were hoping you got the 'cat pee' soda, lol.
Loving your Travels and Safe Journeys Always ☕️🐓🙏🏻✌🏻You Post The Most Interesting Stuff💯.. Awesome Hat Pins👍

Glenn Frey sang "Take It Easy", not Don Henley.

Good job on the corner!!😃🤣
See you in the Grand Canyon. I went there once and it had a good visit Bility but it also had black gnats that swarmed anything white and of course my car was white and I was wearing white… Where’s something darker like a dark T-shirt just in case lol
This Missouri guy has his dogs the Oklahoma way, but add chopped onions.
After having been, and bought soda at the Pop Shop I can vouch for Jacob. many of the pops at the pop shop are NOT twist off tops, only a few are twist off.
According to Google, Missouri hotdogs have brown mustard sauerkraut and melted Swiss cheese
Another super awesome video journey😎😻🚗
The museum and the 4D movie is better then the actual crater. Lol
