One other thing brother, I felt that last scene in my soul, when you said “Annabel used to love the scrambler, she loved making me spin in circles” then the silent scene of the beach. You’ve been thru a lot my friend, the divorce and your daughter getting older and doing her own thing, I know how it is. My daughter is 12 and lives with her mom because I’m a truck driver and I feel those pang’s of loneliness all the time where a little memory of times gone by will flood into you and know there’s no getting those times back and when the business of the day is done and your alone in your bed is the hardest times and it suck’s trust me I know. But you know we all love ya and things will always get better.
Loved every minute of this trip! Every meal you ate, every motel you critiqued, every snow globe you shook, every wooden cutout display you poked your head in and every cat you greeted. Thank you for a wonderful trip! Safe trip going back East sweetie! 😁
I worked McDonald's during their Styrofoam years '75-'80..It was my job to crush the Styrofoam packages by stomping on them... Every night, my socks were soaked with soda and milkshakes..

My oldest daughter went to a Halloween party at the McDonalds by our house when she was 10 and won the entire display set of the Ty Beenie Babies in a costume contest.They are packed away in our storage barn. Plus my grandson loves monster trucks and the manager gave him the display holder and all the trucks in it when he was 3 because we would always be there trying to get the Grave Digger truck but they never got it.
Wow Jacob Congrats on finishing the trip! I had a great time sitting in the backseat the whole way! Now you have to figure out how best to get back east quickly. Happy trails and I look forward to riding along with you on the next adventure.

My family and I have been to Santa Monica before and it was a fun trip; it was a graduation present from my parents because there's a Carlo's Bakery in Santa Monica and it was awesome. Even the pier is awesome, we played the games there, but sadly, we didn't go on any rides. Other than that, it was the best graduation present ever.

I loved this whole trip. Honestly knew almost nothing about Route 66 before this, even though I’ve been back and forth across country several times. I got a little emotional at the end there. On to new adventures!
I live in downtown Los Angeles and can be at the Santa Monica Pier in about an hour by light rail but hardly ever go there. Hope you enjoyed your visit. Get gas as little as you can in California but right outside the state line in another state if possible.

I surf and sometimes we will stop by the SM Pier, or sometimes when biking. I always forget that it is the end of Route 66. It's cool you spend the day and night at the Peir as well. Too bad you cannot hang out and explore so Cali for a while. Thanks for the vid. Keep safe!
