I had the 500 Scrambler in Paris for a while and it's a hoot to ride, easy to weave through traffic, great when you thrash it, light as a feather and the seat isn't quite as bad as it looks. I like what they"ve done to the 700, nice review!
I really like that bike a lot. That great engine but with the nicer looking tank and cool high exhaust. I would seriously consider one of those for the fun paved mountain roads and gravel road I live on.
I'd rather have an XSR700. I like the Fantic, though. I'd rather like one of the 450cc ones. I'm sure the Fantic 700 gets its increased low-end grunt mainly from the lower gearing. And I don't like buzzy bikes. Are the tyres tubeless? They don't look like it. Good review, although I wish you'd drop the background music. Nick J
but you wouldn't go out the garage and find yourself just looking at the Yamaha The Dark Side of Japan...because they signed the design off at night when no one could see it.
No, it's a bit better specced then the XSR and the Tribute, USD (that have decent rebound damping!) and Brembo stoppers - plus you get some electronics to play with.
One of the first things I would change is rip off the name caballero from the tank and put Yamaha on it. It looks good, but why should I not get the Tenere instead, which also looks good and performs a lot better then this toy.
I've got a Tenere. It's about 7cm taller seat and the centre of gravity higher because of the ground clearance, engine position and fuel tank. At 171cm height, it is a challenge for me when moving slowly - out on the road, no problem, but in tighter slower situations (incl. off road) quite difficult. This Caballero is a better prospect, although it will never go the off-road places the Tenere can. Would I get one? Yes, because it would manage tours and very unchallenging off-road and still have the bulletproof CP2 motor. The 2 bikes are different and only share an engine as a comparison point.
Definitely, but it’s worth trying a test ride on one. You might be surprised. Fantic are producing bikes that have a special character which isn’t immediately apparent from the technical description.

As an allrounder bike it's among the best options on the market in my view.
Nice to finally find a review n English for this bike. Great insight for potential buyers
Thanks for watching, we're glad you liked it!

The Caballero 700 is such a beautiful package, why would you need more in a world where all ADV bikes are becoming increasingly heavy?
there is an argument for that, as I said, it was nice to get on a bike without too much tech and just ride!
I want one. But there are no dealers in my area. I wish Honda would make a light scrambler like this with their new 750 parrallel twin.
you can get the delivered
Nice bike my friend not to mention the beautiful scenery thank you very much for taking us along with you ride safe keep the rubber side down
I'll try! :-)
Thx for the video
I´m seriously thinking about pulling the trigger on the Scrambler
wish i could find one of these in the usa
they´ve started selling in the us,
just look up fantic usa
Fantastic review.
Thanks for the comment, means a lot!
Will there be a Rally version of this?
@I_am_Thursday not a problem for me :))
Any info if well see a 700 rally?
That's what I want to know, similar to the 500 rally....

It has spoked wheels so definitely tubes in the tyres
@@Bounce625 Not necessarily. Lots of spoke wheels take tubeless, even on cheap Chinese bikes.
@@Bounce625 My Husqvarna Svartpilen uses these tyres, spoked wheels and is tubeless.
The XSR is ugly, and there's more to the performance than a simple gearing change....
I bet there will be a comfort seat available as an upgrade! 😆
"Little Easter Eggs"..... Got it.
Caballero-Cabayero to you me old salchicha
Honda missed a trick not putting out a CL1100. Good to see Fantic not utterly stifled by Corporate thinking.
The Xsr is not a scrambler.
Drop the music, I couldn't watch this..
I agree. What, exactly, is the point of it?
Like a 90’s sitcom
You must have the attention span of a flea....
An XSR 700 is £8260. Tough sell
No electronic, no Marzocchi, no CNC parts and definitely no style.
Well as mentioned before no Marzocchi and it looks way worse. This here has Italian design and it has a head turning design.

The Dark Side of Japan...because they signed the design off at night when no one could see it.
Mt 07 powered retro? So it's basically a different xsr 700

Very distracting music, is it really necessary?
£9699!!!!??? I can think of several bikes I’d rather have for that money.
Definitely, but it’s worth trying a test ride on one. You might be surprised. Fantic are producing bikes that have a special character which isn’t immediately apparent from the technical description.
You could get an XSR900 for the same money with Yamaha build quality. Way overpriced!!
@@yahoodlums then you should buy one of those. The Fantic is too expensive if you don’t want a Fantic. Pays yer money…
Nice bike but 40 kg and 3.000€ more than the 500... this bike has only the name and design similar than its small sister.
It's different concept also, less scrambler, more street scrambler.
It's lighter that Yamaha's T7, same engine
