Wow! We were there in Jan when the scuds started flying. Moved to port when vehicles got there.Got three days of R&R there in April. We finally made it to Kuwait city in May after supporting kurds in safwan valley after ground war. Finally left in June.Khobar towers is a strong memory because of the scud attacks. But the chance to spend three days there after the war was a totally different experience. Thanks for posting!
We got over our jet lag there for 4-5 days before our stuff got into port. Slept our ass off. After the war there were flea market type places to shop and even the mall - getting a ride to there but damn they were always shutting down to pray and it was easier to go outside of Khobar in those big flea market areas to eat and shop.
Spent our last 2 nights there May 1991waiting for bus trip to airport to head back to the states. 226 MAINT Co Fort Sill Oklahoma. Thank you for posting
I was there in 93 from Luke, 56 CS. 115 degrees and humid! I remember walking out of our apartment building and my sunglasses would fog up and started sweating. 135 degrees near the tarmac. In 93 we had a little pool and drank near beer. To see blue sky, look straight up!
Nice work. Thanks for sharing!

I vividly remember the bomb blast went off in of those buildings of Al Khobar. I was miles away but sounded like meters away.
Been there!! Great memories.
Must have been after the war, I don't hear any air raid alarm . I remember them very well still.
I stayed there after the cease fire waiting to catch the bird back to the world
