Thank you! This was so helpful. As another commenter said, I wish sewing machine manufacturers would just print these lines on the bed of the machine for us so we wouldn't have to experiment with (and often spend money on) all these attempts to solve the problem ourselves.

Great video! Your instructions are always so precise and not too fast or too slow. Some presenters over explain and I get bored and quit watching. Yours are perfect! Thank you.

Excellent, comprehensive demonstration of seam guides, Laura. Thank you so much because I see the products in the stores but wasn’t sure how some of them worked, why there were so many lines, and I didn’t even think of my drop-in bobbin! The funniest thing is I have glow line tape and didn’t even think of marking my seams on the machine bed - sheesh - well, that’s why we have you! Thanks, again 😊

Very useful information. Many different types of products to accomplish the same thing. I like seeing a product demonstrated. The seam ripper technique for cutting out the area around the feed dogs is genius

These seam guides are all great, until you have to change your top loading bobbin. It’s about time sewing machine makers, especially those machine marketed as a quilters machine, printed proper markings on the machine.

Because I'm not much into sewing quilts, i don't have the large working area on my machine where i can attach the tapes or seam guide sheets. And, due to that, I guess I'll hafta just mark the lines on each piece. Maybe they have some sort of template for drawing the lines straight onto your piece ? 🤔 Am not sure, but, seems like that would help at least some 😉. These tips are very useful, though. TYSM for sharing this video with us. ❤

Hi Laura thank you for the great video. I have a extension table just like yours and when I use the diagonal tape the table moves a lot and messes up the tape it moves it around too much. I was wondering what mat you have your machine on. I’m thinking whatever you are using might make the table more sturdy? Thank you for all your great videos and I hope you understand what I am asking, lol

Did you notice a smell with the plastic ones? I spent days trying to get the smell to "air out." The entire sewing room smelled. Second problem I had, I used the quarter inch foot and was trying to align the needle to that foot, opening in the plastic, and the needle position which changes each time the machine is shut off. Third problem, I didn't do a cradle to place the sheet on accurately. It kept sticking - going on not straight. Fourth problem, when I ordered, I measured the left side of the needle and the right side of the needle--when I placed the sheet on the bed, it was much smaller than the sewing plastic extension table that is on my machine. After fighting for days, I wrapped the sheet up, placed it in the plastic roll and went back to marking. I have glow tape--think this is the way I will try next. Thanks for this very helpful presentation.
