That is the simplest harness I've ever seen! I'm working on a winter fae costume, and really want to include wings of some sort. Your technique would be perfect!
Girl, you're amazing!!! I was confused how to attach wings to my back and do not harm breastplate and now I have a great sollution thanks to you! I need to redo parts to attach and add pipes, great idea I just thought about wire around myself (such stupid idea). Thank you very much
Love your work...I never been into cosplay..but when I saw your tail video, I am hooked....I'm looking for a hobby to share with my 9 yr old daughter.. trying to get her off Video games..but I think this may be it
This is absolutely amazing, new and innovative way to make wings. I'm amazed how they move and look realistic, and I've enjoyed watching you make them. Keep up the good work and have fun. Cheers
Awesome work. I'll be using several of these techniques to make my little dragon familiar so that his wings move naturally. It will be scaled way down though, of course.
Thank you for filming this! I've been wanting to make dragon wings for such a long time and this tutorial really helps! If we do not have an airbrush, what would you suggest to paint with to get the soft shading?
Strapping you mean ? I don't really have much to say about it, as the useful part (the "wing plate") was already shown. It does not go further than what I showed from 7:29 to 12:23.
@@arborealkey Hello! I really like your works, and I follow you on IG too... Can I ask you the straps material? Is it fabric? how did you attach the straps to the base?
@@Marl3n3x I think they are cotton ? Nylon would work too (the ones you find in hardware stores). You could glue them, bolt them, sew them (by heating the needle in a flame)...
I got your pattern for this and am wondering are you gluing two layers of 10 mm together or gluing foam together to get 10 mm total for the wing spines
I'm heating up the PCV pipe... Though it's quite difficult to get it on to the aluminum pipe how hot are you heating it up..it becomes floppy and it gets hard to slide on to the pipe with the tape. Any alternatives ?
Hello! PVC pipes do not have a very wide "softening" window and burn easily (kind reminder that it also releases toxic fumes). Using another aluminium pipe works too but it might dig into the smaller one. This is not really a tutorial, it's more like ideas for you to create your own stuff, so you can think out of the box if needed.
The magnetic pieces that go over the shirt is genius.

Great tutorial, this is incredibly helpful. And your dry sense of humor is amazing, I had to laugh so many times. Much love from Austria!💖

Amazing!!!! What kinda of material can I use if I don't have worbla? (we don't have worbla here) will EVA foam work well as a replacement?
Beautiful
Your accent is so beautiful ❤
Wuau !! , Un trabajo increíble , excelente explicación , tienes mucho talento 👍

Amazing video! Thanks 💜💜💜
this was super helpful!! i was wondering, do you think if i used thin pice of foam instead of fabric would it make the wing more or less stable?
What materials did you use? Could you put a detailed list?
thank you so much ❤
Awesome!! Thanks a mill
any tips on making it behind your back instead of the hips?
I love it
Putting a gear motor to have control of the wing motion would be nice 🤔
What were the sizes of the aluminum tube's and pvc pipes that you used?
These are beautiful! Where do you think I could find a fabric like the one you used for these wings (search terms or maybe even shops)?
Thanks! Sorry, I do not know what it is called, I got it in a physical store and didn't look at the label.
@@arborealkey aww, well thank you for the reply anyway! :)
MAN this is awesome! are you going to do a harness tutorial as well or is this the end of the series?

Hi! How are you ? beautiful work, what measure of rubber eva do you use?? Thank your very much
Thank you! I think it was 8mm.
I got your pattern for this and am wondering are you gluing two layers of 10 mm together or gluing foam together to get 10 mm total for the wing spines
If my memory is correct, I had three layers on the outer spines and two on the inner ones.
Awesome! Thank you for getting back to me!
Holy shit I love this

what fabric do you use in min 1:28 please 🙏
is it possible to make the foam thinner for a more bat look? Im worried that it wont be stable enough
It has a metal skeleton, so the foam does not actually hold anything
Is this about wings of fire? I just saw the name “darkstalker” and associated it with wings of fire.
What fabrics did you use for the wings?
Can you flying 😂 you do good job work on bat 🦇

@@samanthawarner8712 It think it was polyethylene here, but I used EVA for wings made later.

I also want them 😢
Do you have an Etsy or an online shop or do commissions?
I do, but it's for patterns and bookmarks: www.etsy.com/shop/arborealkey
I am not accepting private requests at the moment, sorry.
What mm of EVA foam are you using?
Two layers of 10mm thick foam.

To look *absolutely* ridiculous you should wear the head pair as well.
