Yes i believe so too. It's my high level stress that got me this shingle which in itself is just so painful to go through it.😢😢.. I guess I'll try to do my best to alleviate my stress and do some meditation and hopefully it will go away a bit.. how are you now?

She has pain medication now and also lots of ibuprofen. This disease is debilitating and so painful. She could be laid up for a month. She is now 75 and and she is not bouncing back as fast as she used to. I will share this video and hopefully it will give her some relief. This all began from a trauma restraining a child from getting hurt 20 years ago. Thank you Dr. Berg.

I have TN. Started in 2012. Had Cranial Vesicular Decompression surgery in 2017. That gave me total relief for 1 year and 10 months. The pain returned and lasted for 5 months as a result of a sneeze. Currently pain free. Truthfully , I live in fear of it returning. It seems to be brought on by stress. I certainly have stress in my life, who doesn't? Especially when I'm working. Does anyone else feel stress brings the pain on?
It is frustrating for me to hear people say, "I know what you're going through and I know it hurts." Unless you have TN, you can't know the hell a person with TN lives in. It pushes me to the edge of my sanity. There is no escaping the pain and medications do not control it. The pain returns out of the blue with no warning. Having TN causes me to live in a state of "walking on eggshells" for fear of any moment it will return. Pain-free times are such a blessing and can give a false feeling of "cured". May God help us all that suffer with TN.

Dr Berg, I have recently found the source of my TGN pain. For the last five years, I have suffered from TGN with pain being constant for 2-3 months and intermittent for another 2 months. Although acupressure helped it did not relieve the pain. I had noticed that it seemed to be triggered in late fall, through winter and diminish in the spring. I have refused the mainstream treatments and kept looking for a solution. At this point, I had zeroed in on sinus cavity around my nose as being part of the problem. I enjoy listening to podcasts and landed on your videos and other MD who's approach is to leverage food as medicine to heal the body. I started the healthy keto diet to improve sleep, memory, energy and reduce hot flashes. I have found so many benefits since I have adopted the health keto diet and intermittent fasting. In the process, I realized that dairy was the root cause of my TGN. So far, I have been pain free. Thank you!

This technique is amazing. I have atypical trigeminal neuralgia which presents on both sides of the face, but luckily only one side at a time. If the left side is fired up I use pressure points on the right side and vice versa and it works every time. Sometimes I have to work the spot a little bit harder than usual. For anyone who is trying this technique and it is not working for them, try pushing a little harder on the part of the nerve it feels the most tender (again, on the opposite side of the face from where the TN pain is presenting). Great video Dr. Berg. Thank you!!!

I'm going to try this! I'm desperate, so I figure it can't make anything worse. Healing the adrenal glands makes sense. I think anyone with TN also suffers from adrenal fatigue after awhile. I've had this horror-show exploding in my head for more than 16 years now. I had MVD surgery 9 years ago, it helped a lot but the pain has come back to it's previous level of torture. I'm grateful for any new information that can help! Even if this doesn't work, I still thank you Dr. Berg for your understanding and caring. The ignorance about TN that I've encountered from doctors is shocking (yes, pun intended). Had one that told me I was exaggerating because I asked him to turn the fan off in the exam room as the cold air on my face was triggering attacks. He told me that was impossible! Really? Google trigeminal neuralgia, look at the list of triggers. Wind and cold air are on every damn list, jerk!

When I some how managed to get to the hospital, I knocked out from the severe pain that attacked me right then. I woke up with IVs and had an MRI done. The doctor prescribed Lyrica (a fairly new type of pills for trigeminal nerve pain) I was told it has serious side effects on the organs so I took it for about 2 months and gradually weened off of it. It did feel like it was coming back a few times after that but I was lucky it didn't. I kept the medication so if I had another emergency, I would have it right away (I still have some just in case) I've experienced so much severe pain from so many things...This was the worst how it just attacks and you can't see ten seconds ahead of you. There was no light but enormous fear from the excruciating pain. I just try to eat healthy and be as healthy as possible. The doctor said people have different severity and cope differently. Some people get better soon while others take a bit more time. If you have this, please get professional help. This is just one of the worst pain. I could have never made it without that medication. Still scares me just thinking about it.

I was just diagnosed in the ER, after the worst pain I ever had. I had suffered a week and went to the ER. The DR. presecribed Tegretol, which eased the pain, but put me in a coma, and I am not exaggerating. The drug took my life away. I stopped it and the pain was back this morning. I tried this method and the pain stopped! I am considering acupuncture. Thank you Dr. Berg.

My daughter got this days after having her wisdom teeth out 10 years ago age 18. The Oral Surgeon denied he could have done anything to cause this. The head of Pediatrics ENT Texas Children's Hospital in Houston diagnosed Trigeminal Neuralgia. Severe debilitating pain on both sides of her face and its come and gone ever since. She accidentally found out that botox stopped the pain when she got it done. The pain has now returned after many month's so she is getting botox again asap. Hope this helps someone else!

I would suggest not getting the Botox. Her face will begin to droop overtime. I’ve already seen it happen. Consider red light therapy, reducing inflamation or last resort nerve cauterization.

I was COVID Positive in the month of April with delta variant. Starting July I started experiencing excruciating and burning dental pain on chewing/biting anything from left incisor tooth. Initially I thought this was some dental issue. After a month I was diagnosed with Atypical Trigeminal Neuralgia. I even got MRI done, it came out clean with no nerve vein interaction. I have been on gabapentin and amitriptyline along with vitamin B12 and D3 tablets. Doctors started these meds with min dose but every 2 months the dose needs to gets revised as the meds started becoming ineffective. I am here to ask 2 questions:
    1. Is it possible that I got Atypical Trigeminal Neuralgia due to corona virus?
    2. If so, how to get rid of it?

I was diagnosed with TN on July 2023 and reacted to Tegretol taken with Terberfin in August 2023. The meds given were Gabix 300mg both day and night. This was changed to 100mg in the morning and remained 300mg in the evening. Today Dr Berg, i tried this massage on the right side of my face and felt relief on the left side. TN is unpredictable and some days worse than others. It changes how I speak and sound after an electrical current episode on the left cheek. The medical field does not know much of TN and the ones living with TN have a space to share experiences. Thanks Dr Berg and to everyone living with TN or knows someone living with TN.

RUclips is seriously going to put GPs (glorified Google Practitioners nowadays!) out of work. Had insanely annoying crawling/throbbing/tickling sensations on right side of face for years and MRI suggested possible compression of trigeminal nerve by a blood vessel but told as ever "you’ll just have to live with it" by the NHS consultant. Came across this today and whilst I wouldn’t say it’s cured, pressing he opposite side certainly has more effect than massaging the affected side which only makes it worse. At least I can fiddle I the right place now to hunt for some relief. You Sir are the real deal 👍

I Watch all your videos with a huge interest. Here regarding the trigeminal pain, it is way more complex. First the trigeminal pain caused by a trauma is not a neuralgia but a neuropathy. I have been injured during a dental implant surgery. Great readings are publications from Prof Tara Renton or Benoliel. Once it’s from an injury, specialists refuse any surgery. The healing of the trigeminal nerve is often going through a process of ephapse( anarchic fibers reconnection) . Nothing… absolutely nothing works, from morphine to anti epileptic… I am an osteopath so I avoid drugs whenever I can… for neuropathy, especially when severe ( anesthesia dolorosa) , nothing manages it. I believe that for neuralgia though, following a ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting might be extremely helpful as it will help to avoid blood vessels enlargement and therefore will avoid nerve compression…

I got TN in 2018 when I cracked my tooth and it hit my nerve. Since then I am suffering from this disease. My pain is controlled though almost 90% I would say with tegretol and gabapentine. Those have been my life savers. Some days pain would come back when I brush my teeth or eat something. So I avoid eating or brushing on the right side of my mouth where I have TN. Dentist suggested root canal but it didn’t help so that tooth was removed so I lost my tooth and the pain stayed. Too much talking aggravates my pain or if I eat frequently ( chewing) . My pain triggers are citrus fruits or vegetables so I stay away from them. Even bananas or too much caffeine aggravates my pain. Wanted to share my experience so that if even 1 person can get relief by avoiding certain foods I will be happy! Try to meditate before sleep! Few deep breaths will help in getting rid of day to day stress! All the best !

Neither brushing nor any physical activity triggers the pain, but whenever I eat food that contains citric acid, i immediately get caught up. Also, swimming in chlorine water triggers the pain. My last attack was when I had cough n fue and took a few antibiotics with Arinac HCl. I got consecutive mornings pain attacks that made me unconscious even. I didn't take tegral and just controlled it with my diet. Now absolutely fine! Now my goal is to keep myself fit to avoid any type of allopathic medicine. I have been suffering from Neuralgic facial pain after dental issues for the last 42 years. It lasts many days without relief. This rime it came after oral surgery from an old car accident. I was suffering from surgery but I realized the surgery pain should be getting better but it was getting worse, I then realized it must be my neuralgia back again. The dentist gave me a script for my favorite med. I never had a problem getting it in NY and NJ when I lived there but herein small town Tenn, it is nowhere to be had. I have to wait until Monday (3 days away) to have my dentist to rewrite he script. I can't wait that long. I did what I did when I was younger, buy a bottle and go home and drink myself to sleep. I hated to do that but it always worked On my home tonight I thought I had no choice and bought a bottle of Kahlua. I read your article and did the opposite of what I had been doing and rubbed the opposite side of my head. I did not expect 100% and I didn't get it but I am so pleased with around 85-95% I am thrilled with the results. If I can get a few hours of sleep I will be indebted. To you thank you so much. I don't think I have trigeminal neuralgia since it is for days but this relieved enough pain that I can function and sleep. But a glass of Kahlua doesn't hurt either, Thank you so much for this video it is a life changer for someone like me. UPDATE the very same night (last night) the pain returned with a vengeance...

This is magic! Pain occipital on right side here, so messaged identical spot on the good side, and pain on the painful side disappeared!

I've tried it all. I've had constant, type 2 TN for 11 years now, and nothing works except the normal anti-epileptic meds, which barely dulls the pain. I've tried this before, and by all the gods I wish it worked, I really do. It does nothing for my pain. I think maybe I'm too far gone.

I've been experiencing similar pain and my docs are in the process of trying to figure out the cause. What ever it is I've got, this definitely helps where pain killers do not.

This never worked for me. I have to Crack my ears to drain my lymph, avoid Histamine and use peppermint. I take peppermint oil pills and put peppermint oil on a qtip in my ears. My ears give me immediate relief. I've been in remission since 2018.... although I have bouts of pain from time to time (I immediately get my oil).
