What if you could switch a freight car from your layout to someone else's? We had a lot of fun doing that! This video was a digression from making a video titled "Silly Little Projects," which itself was a digression from making a video titled "The Road to Nowhere." Now that this parenthesis is closed, I can work my way back to what I was doing originally. Thank you MLWQC for indulging me. - Хобби
Great idea for a collaboration! Love it. And you did a great job on weathering that box car.
That is some very kind feedback. It was fun to do!
That is a Great looking Boxcar!!!! Well done!!!!! Dave
Haha! Thanks! I’ve significantly improved since. And last I checked, this freight car reached its fourth layout!
@@SouthDown Fantastic!!!!!
I should do another one and send it to you.
@@SouthDown I could do the same thing. We need to know each other's customers so we know where to send them. ???
That’s a good point. If you can grab my email address in the About field, we can connect further.
I always appreciate your sarcasm! Great vid
Thank you! Your appreciation means a lot to me.
@@SouthDown you guys have given me an 💡
Please keep us informed.
@@SouthDown I've formulated my plan. How can I share it with you? I see your lowly boxcar has grown legs!!!
Yes! It left @mlwqc ruclips.net/video/ObLBAUYCcyo/видео.html and working its way to @trainsontuesday
Contact info for me is under the About page. Let me know if otherwise.
Brilliant! :) Loved both videos :)
Thank you for your support and encouragement! The boxcar made it to David’s layout and we are waiting for it to travel even further.
Great idea and was fun too
Thank you for indulging me!
@@SouthDown My pleasure...
Such a cool idea, I had a similar idea years ago, motive power, essentially leased units making their way from railroad to railroad. The one guy I commented on was not impressed at all, saying he only runs his power, etc etc, some other things I’m sure, I’d really have to dig. But he came across extremely rude which was unfortunate. Because he made some amazing videos and had an amazing layout with his own ‘fantasy’ road. I unsubbed him, and left it at that. His locomotives were mostly red, that’s all I’ll say. I’m glad to see there are other people out there that think it’s a cool idea, keep up the awesome work man! Great use of an old blue box too, I’ve got that same number in my fleet somewhere :)
I think SDSL had a great idea and I am glad I could take part of it. I am always open for these things. Its lot of fun.
Leased units sound great. Or perhaps next time we should have some kind of business car. Each railroad it encounters will need to add one figure in the lounge representing themselves.
Would you want the freight car to visit your layout?
@@SouthDown I like the sounds of it all! Very cool! And of course I would, I just need to get going on my layout, I haven’t done much as of late since moving…
Start with a yard and work your way up to a full line. One little thing every day, they add up. Looking forward to seeing your progress!
@@SouthDown ha well motivation is key, and I’ve been procrastinating a lot lately. I’ve got road bed down, sorting out the yard and customer switches, hoping to have power to the main line by months end…
Cool RUclips channel. You got a new subscriber.
Thanks! This kind feedback is greatly appreciated!
No problem
Leo excellent video , very impressive
Thank you! I look forward to switching one with you.
Leo I am picking up my NW2 Kato switchers this week
This calls for an unboxing video.
Sure I could do that
What turnouts are you using?
Standard issue Micro Engineering number 6 with code 70 rail. I removed the inner spring to have a more tactile experience with the ground throws. Thanks for reaching out!
