Great playing, mate, and thanks much for the tutorial and sharing. I just picked up an rp355 used for cheap and can’t wait to dig in and explore the sounds 😎⚡️🎸
Me too! I love the look on "Gear Heads faces when they approach the stage and realize I've been rocking the shit out of the house with this old time pedal!
I use a RP-250 Still...Same concept. Used it live for 16 Years without a fail. Although I have 4 of them now, all flashed with the same programs in case mine gets lost or broken.
Your video has convinced me to go for this one. Been trying to go from analog back to digital is just so much more comfortable. But didn't wanted to break the bank with anything Helix type that seems to be everywhere these days. Old digitechs seem to do the job just fine. Thanks again
Dude have this for like 8 years. It is okay nothing to compare it with analog. Trust me you will miss the organic analog tone. Get it only if you find it really cheap
I used the Rp300, RP350 and since 2011 the RP500. L/R stereo signal-out goes into a 2x10 Jenson combo with a built-in 1U Rocktron SS Power Amp. Light, versatile, easy to read LED Display and lots of good tones.
I've got the older rp350 since 2006 and I use it almost everyday with a Sire S7 Larry Carlton and Custom 77 CS3. The chorus and delays are awesome. Some of overdrive and amps sounds not very good but digging onside the machine can bring some pretty sounds.
If you want Mesa…go for the DigiMetal amp+cab. It’s a Mesa in disguise. That sounds closest. DigitTech RP355 still crushes the other newer brands. Many simply don’t “saturate” in the gain like this one.
Nice to see a fresh demo, my brother gave me a a pedal like this just when I was thinking about buying a Hotone Ampero but I think I'll keep this one it has good effects, the Ampero won't make me play better and will be old in a couple years like every digital and software driven pedal.
Great video! I’ve owned an RP355 for almost 10 years, travelled 1000’s of miles with it, used it on stage & studio recording. not sure if it’s worth it to get one of the new multi Fx pedals out today
I have the rp355 , ive owned do many pedals, this is my favorite pedal. I used it in a band for years. I still use it everyday with my boss looper. Best pedal . How many sounds do I use , all of them. I use a tech21 trademark60 with it best combo ever. Cheers 🍻
I use one, mostly as a modulation. Love that you can assign the treadle to any part of it. I am using amp models occasionally with external overdrive and tone stage. But I plan on using it only in the effects loop on either a delta blues or ac15 tube amp
Those patches sound pretty good to my ears. I have the older RP350 collecting dust on a shelf. I assume it's quite similar to the 355. I'm sure I've read about the differences long ago but I can't remember any of it right now. I was on a massive buying spree back then, so I never really used the 350 much before it was replaced with something else, which then quickly got replaced by... yeah, my patience level was kind of low back then, and I have a sizeable collection of dusty old preamps/modeling units to prove it... 😄 It's weird how watching a video can create an interest in something that's long been considered "dead" in my world. Maybe I'll give the 350 a go when I've finished setting up my new home studio. I'm pretty sure I didn't really explore its full potential back then.
Yeah!! That was just my point... When it came out was ahead of his time... Now the amps and Cabs sims sound a bit outdated but the effects still run great and can be used in a Real Amp Set Up (4cables method)
have the rp350 and decided to get a boss katana artist thinking the effects and amp simulations would be better plus it is built into the amp , the amp is great but the simulations are not as good as the 10 plus year old rp350 multi effects pedal ....
Although I have a dozen multis I've used that rp350 for several years even live (Stargazer21 live), albeit I do a unique 'spacemetal' improv act, I've found it quite useful. (Hear my live video performances here on YT, see what you think. Cheers👽
These presets sound great in the video! However, when I connect my Fender super strat to the RP355 unit and apply these presets, they sound very dull and low-gainy through the head phones directly connected to the unit. Also, palm muting for the metal tones doesn't kick in. Any ideas out there how to fix this? Does anybody have the same combination? Does it sound differently through head phones compared to direct recording (which doesn't seem to work on Win10 for me, currently, eigher)? Thanks a lot in advance!
