Could you live with a simple car like the Hyundai Venue? If not, why not?

    • @darryl2154

Maybe. I'd be curious to know how it handles with snow tires and no AWD. Or how the drum brakes feel with the ABS system. If the ABS even activates on the drums?

@SomeLaveenGuy If it had a nicer quality interior I'd definitely consider it. Seeing as it's a bit shoddy and it's lacking some features, I'd go with a CPO CX5 for a nicer interior and more space.

Definitely! I had a 2014 Mitsubishi Mirage for a couple years and loved it! But I have a thing for small, cheap cars. If they offered the Venue with a manual in the upper trim levels I might own one.

I love my '21 Venue! I came from a '10 Fusion AWD. Living in Michigan, we get snow and I was a bit worried about how it would do, but we recently got 11" and the Venue did great in the snow, especially having a snow drive mode. The infotainment is great, though the speakers are a bit cheap, I wish there was an option for some brand name speakers. It definitely has some zip to it! Being only 121 hp, it doesn't have any issues getting up to speed considering the size of the vehicle

In a country where the average car price is $36,000 and payments are $500+ a month, getting one of these for $14,000 is a bargain. Your reviews with your family are fun to watch, not that you’re not fun by yourself, bud!

I didn't even know this model existed until my 2012 Fit Sport died a couple of days ago. All the SUVs seemed too big, but the salesman suggested I take a base (SE) for a test drive and it won me over by the time we got back to the dealership. Yes, I wish it had a little more power, but I have always liked tiny cars with tiny engines. Here in Florida there is no snow and barely any hills, let alone mountains, so I'm sure it will work out fine.
Nice job with your review and the interaction with your family is very charming. My best to your family and I will be watching for more of your videos!

Great review Micah! I’ve been very impressed with the Venue since it was released. Nearly all the features you need and none you don’t. So much space for such a small footprint and I really like the clean lines. The front daytime running light ring is similar to its much larger cousin, the new Kia Telluride, and the taillights remind me a bit of Audis from a decade or so ago. All in all a very impressive car, especially considering the price. It actually seems like what a new mini should be, cheap, relatively attractive, simple, utilitarian, deceptively roomy... I will be recommending it to my friends who are in the market. I enjoy hearing all of your insights. Thanks again Muzio family!

BOOM!😄 I can see the Venue fitting well for a young family with one kid watching every penny. Oh, and I learned to drive in the Sierra Nevada. Our house was a quarter mile off the highway on a dirt road. My first junky car was a Toyota Celica with real wheel drive. Only once was I not able to get up our driveway after a freak snow storm (at 2,500 feet it didn't happen often). So yeah, even in the lower elevation hills and mountains of California all wheel drive is not necessary.

    • @MicahMuzio

I live in Wilmington DE and have a 22 highlander but was thinking of buying a secondary car for quick trips to Philly downtown. I rented the Venue in Orlando last year and really liked it. I think it offers a unique value proposition for a secondary car if you don't want a compact sedan. BTW love your videos Micah! This was a great video! Thank you so much for making it, and thank you for involving your family too. It's really nice to get a fuller perspective on a car like this. And now I feel that I don't necessarily need to step up to a bigger, more expensive, and much heavier CX-5 to have a pleasant driving experience (even with a small family aboard). I'll search the used car market for a 2020 Venue SE with a 6-speed manual transmission, and maybe that will make the full experience even more enjoyable!

We currently lease a Honda Fit for a few reasons: parkability in the city, good storage practicality, and it's cheap. Seeing as they're not selling it anymore in the US this might be a good replacement (the HRV just ain't doing it for me and the CH-R is a whole 2 seconds slower 0-60 than the Fit)

This just goes to show a family of 3 fits just fine in a subcompact CUV. Two adults. A small child (or even two). No problem. Americans do not need to put themselves into massive debt to buy a giant SUV they don't actually need. Be sensible, folks!

I think it’s a great and affordable option. I honestly feel many Americans feel they need faster and more powerful cars when they aren’t entirely necessary. I get we want fun with driving but that’s just me. I don’t need something with a million horsepower or ridiculous torque. Just give me something with great features, real decent gas mileage, and make it affordable for me to get from point A to point B. I think this would fit the bill for what look for. I live in New England so I deal with winters. Fwd is perfectly fine for the 20+ years I’ve driven in winter and with a good set of snow tires, awd isn’t entirely a necessity that many seem to make it out to be.

Way, way better and safer than using random touch points on a screen. No need to look away from the road. All wheel drive? Nice, but 60 years of driving here on Long Island NY without it- no problem. I agree, it does look remarkably like a cheap Q3 from a few years ago! Similar overall shape, especially the C-pillar, and I think the taillights have a bit of an Audi look to them. Fun fact, Hyundai’s current design director used to work at Audi

Micah, maybe get an ozone generator and clean out the cars' odors before subjecting the catwhich creator to it? Remember, ozone is more toxic than new car smell, so make sure you blow out the ozone beforehand.

It does look like a good looking, affordable, and a well built little car. I am curious though about what the two grand difference with the Hyundai Accent brings apart from the body style. Are there any difference in equipments or in places that doesn't appear in the spec sheets?

    • @toddp7324
      @toddp7324 2 года назад +1

They are very, very similar--the Venue is essentially the replacement for the old Accent hatchback. The Venue offers more interior flexibility, but otherwise it comes down to which body shape you prefer. Same engine, same transmission, similar (though not exactly the same) trim packages. The Accent is built in Mexico, and the Venue is build in Korea; oddly, from what I've seen, the Accent seems to have fewer issues than the Venue, although that's based on owner reviews, which can be anecdotal.

Totally agree haha. I watched one for this car by an Australian channel and it was very bizarre. It's a budget car and they had oddly high expectations for a $18k vehicle 😅
