@@onlywenilaugh6589Let me rephrase, most trucks and SUV are named after places. Malibu, Tahoe, Yukon, Denali, Dakota, Pacifica, Silverado, Sierra, Colorado, Durango etc. not to mention foreign companies naming like Telluride, Sierra, Tacoma, Palisade, Rio, California, Kona, Taos, Sequoia etc...
I had to rewind the video because I couldn’t believe my ears. My Dad bought a Venue a couple years ago and I was in the market for car so we were out test driving. After taking out a high trim Rav 4, getting back in the Venue was a treat. Better interior styling and ride. It was nice to get confirmation in our impressions. It is a great value and yes a much better car than it needs to be at the price point. Agreed.👍🏻
It is actually a good vehicle because in essence it is not designed for the american market. It is designed for south/south-east asian market which is extremely price sensitive and value sensitive. This is a big mover in those markets because for relatively affordable price you get a ton of features as expected there from a entry level "suv". In the US, people don't really consider anything below a corolla or maybe a civic to be any good because historically they weren't but in the last decade companies like Hyundai have really improved the sub-compact segment.
Haha! I love the AI-generated song for the Venue. I rented a KIA Soul for a weekend, and really liked it. The Hyundai Venue looks pretty good too. I would drive it as a city car or short distances on the highway. BUT... the stylish new 2025 Nissan Kicks looks interesting, and it has all-wheel drive. Maybe that will be the one to wait for?!
I had one as a loaner while my 2021 Kia Soul was getting repaired after hitting a deer. It was all right, but I think the extra room and lower noise levels make me like the Soul quite a bit more. The smaller engine in the Venue means it has to rev a lot more at highway speeds, which is when I noticed the noise the most. Overall I agree it’s better than it needs to be, but I’d definitely stick with my Soul. By the way, your trim recommendations are always on point!
I'm glad you shared your insight as a Kia Soul owner who's driven the Venue. The Soul is a little bit bigger than the Venue and it has a larger and more powerful 2.0L 4cyl engine over the Venue's 1.6L 4cyl. Interestingly, the Soul's fuel economy is rated higher. When comparably equipped with the features I'd want, the Soul is only about $700 more expensive and I wouldn't be forced to get a sunroof like in the Venue, which I really don't want. My only grip is that I prefer the design of the Venue.
I love my venue, I bought the manual. With all it's features what a great price:) I would of liked a 2 litre for more power on the mountains. Good car.
My mom has a 2022 Hyundai venue SE base model with roughly 45,000 miles on it and it’s been kind of problematic. We keep having touchscreen issues. The car has developed a hesitation upon accelerating from a stoplight or a stop in general and when you let off the gas, it likes to shutter one Hyundai dealership wants us to do a whole bunch of services that the car doesn’t need and the other one doesn’t wanna look at it because they’re not sure if it would be covered under warranty or not and they don’t want us to pay out-of-pocket for a diagnostic fee plus with some other random electrical issues and random morning lights popping up and then going away the next day she isn’t very pleased about the purchase of that vehicle
When you said “car has developed hesitation upon accelerating”, do you like press the gas pedal and it takes a while before you fully accelerate? I’m asking cuz I have the same problem with my dad’s Prius
"Rhythm Is a Dancer" is a song by German Eurodance group Snap!, released in March 1992 by Arista and Logic as the second single from their second studio album, The Madman's Return (1992). 🤣😂🤣😅
Okay Micah... you were SO paid for this review . That enthousiams can only bought haha. Looking to buy the vehicle myself so thanks for that review, was fun to watch.
I am glad that there are economy cars still out there, but often they tend to almost punish you for buying a car so cheap with extremely uncomfortable seats, bumpy rides, poor acceleration from an overworked engine, etc. Glad to hear that the ride feel was actually good in the Venue and almost makes the lower power engine and poorer steering seem tolerable.
Great review and POV drive. Sunroof is standard on the SEL, not standard on the Limited 😮😮. Micha any chance you & the family could review a 25 Trailblazer LS or LT.,??? Thanks
Forgot to mention the bast part. The headlights directionally turn when making turns which is amazing. At night the point to illuminate the road you are turning into. Just something that most cars don’t have and when you live in an area that is not a busy city street it’s a game changer
I’ve been seeing a lot more of these on the road lately, seem to be SEL trim and up. I would consider one if I was in the market for something in this price range, Hyundai should add an awd option.
How does it feel to go from a $93k Chevy Suburban to a $23k Hyundai Venue? The seats do look wicked cool. Wow, a full-size spare, I didn't know any manufacturers were doing that anymore. Would you say that the Hyundai would be a good starter car?
My wife has one and yes I would recommend it as a starter car if you have to have a brand new car. When it came out in 2020 it was the cheapest way to get the latest safety tech, since most used cars at the time lacked things like lane keep assist, emergency braking and cross traffic monitoring. It's an excellent car and it was our choice for a 7 hour drive for vacation over my larger vehicle simply due to the very strong lane keep assist, good fuel milage and other safety features. Set it on cruise on the highway and the car basically drives itself. The one thing it doesnt have that I wish it did was adaptive cruise control.
The Venue initially had a 6-speed automatic in the USA as well. I with the stuck the that transmission because I've heard the CVT in the Venue is failure-prone.
The road noise seemed much more pronounced, as opposed to some of the other vehicles you have tested. However, that’s not surprising for the class. Someone looking for a bargain would get plenty for their money though.
I can't wait to see Micah's 16 year old "kiddo" still sitting in that 2nd row booster seat in a few years. Seriously though, isn't she old enough to sit on her own by now?
Legally kiddo can ride without a booster. However, based on her height, the seatbelt fits her best with the booster seat. As a full grown adult I’m only a few inches taller than the recommended booster seat height, so maybe she will be 16. 😹
The 2025 Nissan Kicks will be available with AWD. As a mountain dweller who doesn’t have a lot of driving confidence, that would be what I would choose. However, if I still lived in the city I would likely choose the Venue because of it’s styling. I really enjoyed driving them both!
Hyundai traveled to London on business and of course they took a taxi and thought, we should make the citizen version of this. You can't look at this and a London Taxi and not see the similarities. I think it works, it's a good deal.
I have seen a few VENUE drivers try to out power & speed up against other cars in the city. I let them or other cars pass me so they can get a speeding ticket.
They kept saying cheap describing the vehicle, that may deter many people from buying. Instead others describe for the money you this in this vehicle. It does a disservice to the brand and local dealer. Some would say why is the little girl not playing with her friends instead of all the video's
Your criticism might carry more weight if you hadn’t literally joined RUclips yesterday. That plus willfully ignoring our effusive praise for the Venue suggests you have some sort of ax to grind. Your comment says more about you than it does about us.

Im 75 just got a base model. I love it. Works great on the freeway. Love the gas milage! It wont win a race but it gets me where I want to go😊
Hyundai named several models after places (Tucson, Santa Fe, Santa Cruz), but for this one they literally just called it the “place”.
kona too

Aren't most cars here in America named after a place?

I had one of these this week as a rental car. Easy maneuverability for getting around in a city I wasn't familiar with. Good visibility.

These are cute. I'm glad you reviewed it.
For 22K that really is inexpensive...
I expected less...I'm impressed 🤔
My parents have this exact car and it’s great. They needed a car with good visibility and the Venue fit the bill.
Love watching you and your family's reviews so wholesome. 🥰

Yep. It was an extremely popular quasi techno dance tune.
I think he was thinking of the group Technotronic when he said that.

It's a nice city car and I love the design.
Would you recommend this for rural living. Everything is far away . The gas is great but how would the performance compare?
Great review and POV drive.
Sunroof is standard on the SEL, not standard on the Limited 😮😮. Micha any chance you & the family could review a 25 Trailblazer LS or LT.,??? Thanks
Wasn’t this supposed to be like a $16k car when it first came out? All the ones for sale are like 24k
Forgot to mention the bast part. The headlights directionally turn when making turns which is amazing. At night the point to illuminate the road you are turning into. Just something that most cars don’t have and when you live in an area that is not a busy city street it’s a game changer

"Oh so small. I can do it all"
Now THATS stuck in my head :P
"Kiddo" is cool. Love the girl.
Great video guys!
I agree, Green Apple is the best color on the Venue! Love your reviews!
Green Apple is discontinued for 2025, replaced by Mirage Green (kind of a mint color).
The outro, "Oh so small" [but I can do it] is 😆😆😆
😹😹
When the 1st generation was announced, I was considering this.😅
If they changed the goofy grill, I’d consider it.
I agree, the front is too dorky for my liking. The Nissan Kicks (current and new model😊) look much better.
Interestingly, Canada received the Venue front grill refresh but not the US. India also received a different front grill refresh.
Kiddo is getting into her groove! Love her insight... 😎
Micah, Every time I see another Venue review I ask why Toyota is not offering us their Yaris Cross.
Or Honda fit
Or Ford Puma…
You were thinking of 'Technotronic', who did 'Pump Up The Jam'.
I think the price gap between this and a bigger car is enough to consider this.
Interested to see reviews of new generation Nissan Kicks , may be a better vehicle for same price , bigger engine
Great review Micah and family. I think the SEL i certainly the way to go.
It genuinely looks like yall enjoyed this vehicle!
We sure did. There's something wonderful about a competent, honest, inexpensive car.
@MicahMuzio It looks like the Hyundai venue should cost more than it actually does. That's probably why they sell so great.
"Kiddo" is cool. Love the girl.. If they changed the goofy grill, I’d consider it..
Kiddo is like her dad... great personality
Luke, I really appreciate the positivity. Cheers!!

How can this not be family friendly? Darn it. Okay, Mustang it is. Thanks for the consumer advice 😁

The facelift is much better than this version. Don't know why it's not facelifted in North America.
This question is for the wifey. Which would you chose this or the Nissan Kicks that you reviewed? Overall which one did you like better?

Thank you for the reply! I really appreciate it!
Cars like this used to be only $10k
I honestly think this car is so cute but the Hyundai branding ruins it kind of. I think when hyndai becomes better, it could even rival a mini Cooper
Wait...did you just say the Venue has less road noise than a RAV 4? Holy schmoly! 🤯

It's a shame about that engine. It was underpowered and outdated in the Accent and the Rio.
This is the second time they've reviewed the Hyundai Venue. Perhaps they forgot about the previous one?
The last Venue we reviewed was in 2021. Car makers tend to update their vehicles over time, so it was worth revisiting.

Up top!! 🖐
Hyundai good. Hindustan south.
Pretty soon kiddo will be doing her own car reviews when she gets her drivers license.
I can't wait to hang out in the backseat making snappy comments as she drives. :)
Hyundai sells the previous model as 2024 - we have in Saudi Arabia a more beautiful updated shape than this🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
My friend has one there's ALOT of hard plastic and it feels cheap inside.
Totally true. I personally like the styling but if you prefer soft materials look elsewhere. (And bring more $)
