G'day Rob, RETROL really did knock it out of the park with this kit. Boiler screw on front sight glass is very clever and the genny is a nice piece of gear - Cheers Jim
Hi Jim. Yes. This is a way more powerful steam engine than the beam version, which was pretty gutless. Both look great, but this version with genny is much more useful if you want to be able to drive "stuff". I don't have a problem with the silicon feed tube, but brass would look better. Enginediyshop have splashed these about to channels and should get good sales with this item. First class unit. Cheers Rob
Great Rob Not cheap but alot of components, nice for any one that just wants to assemble, may be not for those who want to make, thanks for sharing Kev
Hi Kev. Yes, it's got a lot of precision parts. Not something a beginner would want to make, unless they have a lot of time. Great for kit builders though. Cheers Rob
That really is an awesome engine kit Rob. I’d love one, but it’s a tad outside my pension pocket money. Unless enginediy are one the lookout for a new friends 😂 Take care mate. See ya soon. Cheers Nobby
Hi Alan. A lot of complex model engines such as these and hit and miss engines are quite pricey. This one is good in that it is actually capable of trouble free running, with strong power. Some others I've reviewed have barely been able to get out of their own way. It would be interesting to see how well they sell. Cheers Rob

That runs superb, Rob. Looks very well made as well. Nice one.....Tony
Hi Tony. Yes, it sure does. Certainly much better than some I've reviewed. The power output is excellent. Hard to beat this one. Cheers Rob

Hi Nobby. Not cheap, but if you want a steam engine that delivers (a lot don't) then this is the one. Cheers Rob
Thank you for your video 🥰
You’re welcome 😊
Nice one.
It's a lovely little model!
Hey Rob, Looks like you're travelling the same road as mrpete222, he just received the same kit in USA
Thanks for the heads up Bob. I will go have a look. Cheers Rob
A lovely engine Rob but at $330 you'd need a wealthy partner or parents to give you that for Christmas 🤣🤣 Cheers, Alan.

What type of fuel are you using in it? Been trying to figure out the best kind. Used 99% IPA but it’s burning very dirty
I use methylated spirits, which is the same as denatured alcohol.
