@@Kharnellius you can beat all of dark forces 2, mots, and jedi outcast using only blasters and bombs, except for the duels. The force powers add a whole new layer of gameplay possiblities when combined with gunplay and explosive tactics. You're denying yourself some amazing shooters. I recently replayed the entire series, and they have ALL stood the test of time.
I can actually see this like it could have been an official expansion for the 1st Dark Forces game. I would love to see an official videogame that uses sprites after the sucess of such games like Ion Fury, Warlock, and more recently Warhammer 40k Boltgun.
Hm, looks fascinating indeed, I find the Lightsaber a bit op, Since even a Jedi/Sith need to aim where the plasma/bolts came from... but it just looks like you could hold RMB and nothing happens (At least should the energy of the Saber goes down), but maybe I'm missing something and did not see it right. Dark Forces is a great game for its time. But after 28 years, with such experience and a modern engine, you can do a lot of interesting things. Nothing surprising.
By the way, where did you get the "R2D2 whistle sound" (at 1:22)when you discover a secret? I downloaded the mod and it just has a single beep noise. I just though the R2 Droid sound effect added to the "star wars atmosphere".
Pretty awesome! Did you make this? Only thing I didn't like is the lightsaber death animation. I imagine them to be sliced in half! Would be awesome for the blaster death animations to be them turning into ash.
@@LilyEmbargo the closest thing you could get like that if you use the brutal doom gore mod. I used it (along side embers of Armageddon) and stormtroopers now explode into gibs

It is not necessary to play this mod with Dark Forces levels. The advantage of the mod is that you can play different levels. And Dark Forces is better to play in the original.

I ran the props and the xims pk3 butnit just lots up on load up and i have to open task manager to close gz. Any tip? I put the pl3 first in order in zdl but it just locks up?

@@sholva6809 There are a lot of differences. If you don't see them, it doesn't mean they don't exist. It's like saying that all cars are the same and differ only in color.
What dark forces 2 should have been. Not that I don’t give the creators credit for live action actors, green screen effects or being introduced to it’s lightsaber mechanics they had back in the day which is still golden today. I just never liked the concept of swinging around your lightsaber making very clumsy efforts in trying to strike your opponent. At least they die with one lightsaber strike and not 50 thousand like today’s Star Wars games.
