Well it could work in theory but more in the line with what has been done with Elden Ring (Sofria River) and ToTK (the underworld). Exploring a huge world telling yourself "wow that game is so big" and coming to the point where you realize "wait... THERE'S A WHOLE MAP BENEATH ???" is one of the most cool feelings I had in gaming. TotK and Elden Ring did it perfectly for me.

Wind Waker is my favorite LOZ of all time and it breaks my heart how little content Nintendo was able to afford at the time. I've always wanted to see more from the original, like actually pirate battles, chasing down legendary sea creatures, explore inaccessible areas of flooded Hyrule, learn more about why the original Hero of Time failed, etc. Nowadays, Nintendo can do literally whatever they want and they choose to destroy dreams and chase clout with developers who actually care about their IP's like Palworld and Metroid. If this gains traction, they're gonna sink their stocky hands around your throat and hold you slightly above the elevation of your height while your legs uselessly run comically above ground level as they proceed to drain your enthusiasm like some sort of glowing vapor emanating straight from your eye sockets with their vampiric mouth completely agape, oblivious to your struggle for escape as your squirming body slowly becomes lifeless and your flesh completely deflates like a raisin, leaving you looking like nothing more than the crypt-keeper himself. Be careful my dude.

wowwww thats so cool!!! i never thought about the fact that everything that we see in wind waker is the highest points of hyrule - tops of mountains or high up villages are the only things left. always wondered why so many of the islands seemed so desolate, but its because everything was wiped out!!
thats so cool thanks for making this

Puts into perspective how insanely mountainous Wind Waker's Hyrule really must be - and you've done a good job capturing that!

Anytime id go to hyrule castle in WW id stand outside and look into the distance at a few towers or low poly houses just wondering what rhe rest of this Hyrule looks like. This is really cool to see

Amazing! I never connected the dots of what all was under the water. I think I passively knew that the ocean was Hyrule flooded, but I just didn't think about it until now.
