all assembeled. Ran into an issue as I extruded my hips in the wrong direction so instead of the join "as is" thing, I had to do the normal process, but it worked. :)
Amazing!!! Great job. You have really applied yourself and have gotten very far into Fusion. I am impressed. Are you still enjoying our lessons too? I can’t believe those were our first lessons and produced a year ago. You’ve got a bunch more ahead, but I know you will love what’s coming up.
Thanks for the nice comment! You can do it! Please let us know if you benefited from this latest tutorial. The series hasn't finished yet... a few more are on their way.
I am a mechanical designer using these tutorials to get started with Fusion for hobbyist for my personal needs. I have always loved AutoDesk products even though I am a long-term SolidWorks user (2001), and I find Fusion to be a refreshing change of pace so far. Definitely seen some neat features that I wish were implemented in my professional software. I also appreciate the time you are taking to also show learners about basic design concepts. Great job on the material and the presentation. I look forward to moving through the rest of your tutorials. Thank you
Thanks so much for sharing a little bit of your history and experience. We are so glad that you are enjoying and benefiting from our tutorials. Thank you for taking the time to comment. All the best with your learning experience. Hope you enjoy our other tutorials as well.
When I 'Inserted Into Current Design' the 'hips', the top 'plank' of the hips became transparent (or so I thought). I thought and thought, 'Why would the plank become transparent?', and then I realized that I had created that plank with the X axis on the bottom of my plank instead of your having created the X axis on top of the plank (You extruded Down while I extruded Up). So Fusion happily shoved my plank up into the Torso! I then had to think and come up with the simple use of the Z axis in the Move so that it was .085 lower and all was good. In life, we have to make mistakes to learn how to fix them. 🙂 Keep it coming. This is great stuff.
As I started joining the legs I saw two center points right next to each other. It showed an error in my leg design. Went back to the Legs, selected the correct sketch on the time, fixed the tiny error, rest of the part adjusted to the change, and saw the notice in the assembly that my leg design was now outdated and could click to update to the latest version. Great stuff! Thank you so much for all these incredibly effective tutorials.
I just completed Lesson 10G. Really great lesson and it was satisfying to see all of the parts come together. I guess my question now would be to design all of the parts in one model so that they all fit together. Tolerances etc. We did that on the box with lid a bit. Thanks!
Excellent job! And great question as usual. This tutorial is teaching just one more way of assembling using parts from different files. Designing and assembling within one file is sometimes preferred so that parameters are retained, but in this instance I chose a different route just to teach another skill. The designer sometimes is forced to use several files that need to be inserted into one design, so it’s good to be familiar with both skills.
HI - just completed this - these videos are awesome thank you. A question - is there a quick way of playing the motion study on the screen without going to 'edit motion study'? Looks like you did it at the end of the video but I dont know how you did it. Would also be good to know how to record a video of the animation and a video of the assembly of the lego character (since we have created the parts now)? Thanks again.. Will try to make a design and motion study next
Thanks so much for taking the time to comment. Sadly there isn't a quick way of playing a motion study. I added it to the end of the video in post-production. (It's not actually part of the session that I was teaching at that moment) That's a great idea for having a tutorial on recording the animation or motion study. Thanks!
I've created a design and modeled all 26 Scrabble tiles. Each of them is a component. I can't for the life of me find how to start using them to build words that I can Joint together and 3D print. When I open the data panel I just see my Scrabble project, but not the components within.
Hello! Thanks for inquiring. Let’s try and troubleshoot: Step 1) do you have all components in 1 file, or are they individual components in 26 different files? Step 2) can you verify that the bodies and/or components are all visible?
@@learnitalready I see what's happening, I think. First, I need some education on Fusion 360 file structure. I realize now for your minifigure we created a separate file for each part, then brought them together in another file. I have already created one file with 26 components. So I guess I just use that file and start joining tiles, making copies of anything that has a repeated letter?
You have a choice: create one file as you’ve described and then insert other projects into that one assembly, or create one project file only and create all your components in that one file. In your instance, it might be a lot easier to just create one project file only. Once you figure this one out, I think you’ll make a huge improvement on understand assemblies. Great job 👏 Keep at it.
Click the little 🏠 icon and then search for your files. You can also click on recent files and find them there too. It’s important to have proper file organization so that you can find them easily next time. Try and create a new project and place all your files into that project folder.
Hello! Thanks for reaching out. Can you provide a screenshot after right-clicking that component please? Can you send it to our email found on our channel page please? I’ll be able to help more if I see what you’re seeing. Thanks so much.
Can you explain more of your situation please? If I understand you correctly, you are: A) in college and have to soon submit an assignment using Autodesk Fusion B) looking for someone to provide the file to you from this series of tutorials Is that correct?
Oh man I'm loving this entire beginner series. It's amazing how far I've already gotten from the first lesson to here!

In this video, I am beyond the limits of my knowledge. I will learn new things here. Thank you.
Very glad to hear! There are a lot more tutorials on their way. Thanks for sticking with us. There is a lot to learn.

Awesome work again, I'm behind this in my learning but it's there to get into, unreal!

Great format and lessons, thanks heaps!

So glad you’re enjoying the tutorials and applying the principles you’ve learned in previous tutorials to solve problems. Good job! 👏
Great job and love the options you present in each video

@ May I ask, what do you think are the pros and cons of handing in a college assignment that you’ve never worked on yourself?
