    Wow, I'm learning heaps. i am in the Facebook Autodesk fusion group &a user dropped a link about configurations to your fusion tutorials. i switched from inventor to fusion & damn it took me ages to pick up from inventor. But from your videos here, It makes so much more sense now. Do you have any animation tutorials that can show flexible materials in motion, like a soft to medium TPU moving, ie: a plastic circular ring which has a small opening that moves into a fully open position ( from 355 degrees to 180 degrees ) , is this possible in fusion?

  • @garrykraemer8993
    @garrykraemer8993 2 дня назад

    Awesome tutorial! At 25:16, you start working with the ellipse. However, the center of the ellipse is used to follow a spline. Additionally, you use the ellipse spline to determine the intersection path that is used as a guide line. I'm trying to make a fuel tank and it is basically the same design except the ellipse is rotated 90 degrees. I need the center of the ellipse at the centerline and the path to go from the front of the design to the rear; exactly what you do, except the spline is the actual centerline. When I generate the intersections, I get error messages stating my points are not on the path. Is there any way you can help me? 75 and getting frustrated. I've drawn it at least 3 times and can not figure it out.

    • @learnitalready
      @learnitalready 3 дня назад

      You’re absolutely correct! I thought for a long time about that and decided to try and keep the focus on learning just a few elements and dimensions on the drawing rather than on every detail. These lessons were primarily made to assist my students (brand new learners of everything manufacturing) and I felt like it was sufficient for them to learn just the few things that were taught in this tutorial. I also left out GD&T, most of the information in the Title Block, etc, etc since those things would have been too much for them at the time. However, we subsequent tutorials, you see that we get more and more detailed. I hope you stick with us to see that progress. I truly appreciate your comment. You’re the only one that’s caught that and commented on it. Thank you!

    Very well done! I've taught advanced Sketchup, AutoCad, 3dsMax and various PC game editors for many years, now retired and modeling r/c stuff for fun. You did a great job of comparing the three techniques side-by-side, something everyone always wants to know..."which technique to use"? The part I really appreciated was starting around 32:20 when errors started popping up. It was great that you included rather than editing out. These errors ALWAYS pop up, good job showing different problem solving techniques to overcome. Students need to see this, understand it is part of the process, and know how to deal with them. • @learnitalready
      @learnitalready 15 дней назад

      Thanks! Great question too! Put simply, there is no way to mirror the text to the other side without it being flipped. You will have to perform the same operations on the other side. That is the great thing about parametric modeling though, especially when you get more proficient with it. If you prove the parameters on one side, it is very simple to replicate (not mirror) on the other side.

    Thanks very much for the videos. I find your videos easy to follow, the pace is not too fast, and I just wish other videos were like yours. You even have a great "teaching voice" that helps hold my attention, some voices just plain irritate me LOL. One thing I would have like to have seen is "completion" of these videos on manufacturing models. By that I mean what comes next to complete this part. The two videos have only shown how to machine that one face. Do we use the manufacturing model as stock for the next operations. And if so, do we then have 2 completely separate gcode files generated to machine the one part. I actually tried setting up a 2nd operation to machine a part I made, but I could not select the manufacturing model as stock, it simply would not select so don't know what I'm doing wrong. A 3rd video would be great to demonstrate this.

    I'm sorry, it's not possible at 19' 22" to Extrude the text 'Learn It!' to minus -0,15" ? But + 0.15" or more is working fine. Error text: There was a problem combining geometry together. If attempting a Join/Cut/Intersect, try to ensure that the bodies have a clear overlap (problems can occur where faces and edges are nearly coincident). As far as I can see, I have copied everything perfectly as you told us. 😞

      Thanks for reaching out! Working through problems only helps us to figure things out much better than if we didn’t hit them. Question for you: what font did you use?

      @@learnitalready Thanks for your question. Font: Impact, Text Height: 0.5", Text Align: Center 2x, Constraint text to the center: Coincident. It is still possible to rotate the Text?

      Thanks for letting me know. Sometimes a different font creates problems but you are using the same font as the tutorial. The next best thing I can suggest is to delete the extrude and sketches tools and try again. There might be a possibility that you have another sketch visible that is accidentally being selected when trying to select the text. Let me know if that solves it.

      @@learnitalready Thank you very much for helping me. This time I first placed the text in the top left corner in a quarter of the piston, this time with Arial, then I performed the negative Extrusion, which worked well, then I placed the text back in the Center in Sketch, then Finish Sketch , and now everything is fine. Then I changed the text to Impact with edit Text, and after Finish Sketch the error message appeared again. I have now changed the text back to Arial, everything is fine now, and I can continue with the exercise. :-)

    How do I remove the thread inserts and have my 3D printer make threads or a hole so I can thread the holes for the cover

    • @learnitalready
      @learnitalready 27 дней назад

      Thanks for your message! I would suggest watching the following video which talks about that. In the Hole tool, make sure to select “modeled threads” instead “cosmetic”. Once you pick “modeled” you will be able to 3D print them. Let me know if it works for you. ruclips.net/video/4_N2--_FUTk/видео.html

    Am following your tutorials and finding them very useful. I have one problem that I can't solve. I've created 9 floor joists by patterning them and have 9 individual components. I need to put a diagonal stiffener into the joists (local regs). I create a sketch and the extrude a cut into the joists but it cuts all the joist at each point rather than at the point of intersection. So each joist has 9 slots cut into it. I hope this makes sense. How do I fix this?

    • @learnitalready
      @learnitalready 28 дней назад

      Great question! Thanks for reaching out and glad that your finding our tutorials useful. It sounds like your issue is due to the components being exact copies of each other, due to patterning. Remember that when you pattern something, all of the components are exactly the same. I show this in the tutorial that if you expand any of the components and then edit a feature (a sketch for example) then you will actually go back in time to the first component and adjust that first component, which in turn adjusts all of them. So, if you cut one joist, then all components will have the exact same cut in them. If the joist are not going to be the exact same - permanently- then you will need to Copy and then Paste New to make a completely different component that is not dependant on the component it was copied from.
