So happy to see animal print go! I'm SO tired of all the leopard and snakeskin. I run in my bike shorts and I'm keeping my tie dye sets for around the house :)
Same here. I will keep what I like to wear, especially off the shoulder tops and animal prints. I like bike shorts to workout since they are more comfy! Never wore them other than to the gym. Thanks for the tips.
Hey Erin. I buy trends when only the look good on my body type. I love my square toe booties and I can’t stand jeans that aren’t tailored near the ankle. I would look cut off and short and fat in jeans you showed. Luckily I’m old enough that it doesn’t matter but I’ve always bought what looked good rather than trend and I’m glad I did. Lol. Great video!
I'm 60 and doc martens are forever!! Wide range of styles and built to last. I've received more compliments on a pair I bought years ago from all age ranges. Rock what you like. 🙃
Exactly what I was thinking, and who decides what’s “on trend” anyway? I like to have a few cute new pieces to go with my classics, but fast fashion is a real problem for our wallets and our environment. My 2 cents. 🤷🏼♀️
Square toe shoes may be hot right now, but I'm imagining them on the "trash" list within a couple seasons. In my opinion, putting round toe shoes on a "trash" list is like saying the LBD is out. It's too much of a classic for it to be "trash." Also, there aren't many things more effortlessly chic than skinny black jeans tucked into tall boots in winter, so 100% never throwing out black skinnies.
I agree with you CocoStyle. That said, I can't imagine I will be in style with my footwear for a while because I cannot wear pointed toes. My feet are steadfastly against them.
Totally! Pointy (but not super long) are always classy and elegant. Round toes are definitely not on trend right now, although that makes me sad since I think they look cute!
Just wore a tie dyed cold shoulder top with my jeggings last week and everyone said it was cute. I think a lot of it depends on your personal style, body type and personality.
I’m fine with the demise of most of these trends, but I still love my skinny jeans and an occasional touch of animal print. I think both are classics! You can’t beat skinny jeans (not skin tight jeans) especially if you have long, slim legs, and wear them with a cute moto jacket or blazer, and pointy toe flats or boots. An animal print scarf or belt finishes the look. Great job, Erin!
I agree lol except skinny jeans never worked in my favor :( I was a volleyball/soccer player and they made my legs look even bigger than they already were 🙃 especially once I started playing in college....YIKES
Since I have quite an extensive designer shoe closet where many shoes are both 20-25 years old, I have learnt a long time ago not to throw anything out if I really like them. Styles that are somewhat out of style always come back. I can't count all the times I've been able to shop my own closet. So fun and with a lot of memories. Not to mention money saved. Many times younger girls have come up to me to ask where I bought this or that. And they get so surprised when they hear the age of many of my items that one cannot get anymore. Always great fun, but also quite revealing regarding my age (he, he).
@@teresas8173 agreed. I have sz 6.5 foot on a 5’6” frame, a pointy toed heeled pump makes my feet more balanced than a stumpy round toed one. I almost never wear round/almond toe.
I stick with the advise my dad gave me as a teenager ; stick with classic tailored pieces that you can mix and match. They never go out of style, you will always look well dressed and you can accessorize for very little money to look on trend. Blouse, scarf, belt, bag , hat, etc. He wasn't wrong and he wasn't gay. Lol.
Great advice, Annette! That’s why I always recommend that 80% of your closet should be those classic basics, however adding in a few fun trend pieces each season is a great way to refresh and have a little fun with fashion! xo
Bottom line you can wear whatever feels good and looks good on you. Things that go out of style now will be back in a few years. Just wear what you like..
@@-MaryPoppins- LOL I have rather proportionally small feet, so I can use a little lengthening! The overall effect is not so much making my feet bigger, but rather making my legs look longer!
This is all in fun, Jamie! You can always wear anything you want, but I think it is important to know which trends may be fading so that people don't invest too much of their hard earned money in new pieces. xo
So dumb. But I still get a kick out of the audacity in these type of videos. But it's true what she says in the comment about saving you from buying a high ticketed item if u may not be into them for much longer 🤷♀️
Exactly Jamie!! The “who” are the designers, manufacturers, etc.... the ones making all the money constantly switching things up to make us spend more..... constantly chasing the ideal “image”..... it is out of control... some of the things they push are hysterical!!
Bike shorts, cold shoulder, micro bags - those are “trends.” Tie dye, animal print, toe shapes, jean leg shapes - those are just personal preferences that manufacturers bring in and out. Not worth the time to determine if they’re “in,” only determine if they are “yours.” I’ll keep my skinny jeans and block heel platforms and animal print because they suit me and my style.
I'm forever keeping my ripped and skinny jeans! If I love something a trend isn't enough to make me get rid of it! I just kinda only try trends that speak to me. Excited to see what's next!
Skinny jeans, cold shoulders, animal print and rounded toes will stay in my wardrobe. Maybe not worn as much, but definitely not going bye bye. The rest I didn’t really wear to begin with. 🤷🏻♀️
@@genevawelch9865 Depends on the kind of platform. Platform block heels are cute, but stilettos are just pure stripper energy, which is fine, but not everyone wants to look like a stripper all the time.
Good because I have some platform wedge sandals in a gorgeous print. I can't wear heels anymore, so I'm not getting rid of perfectly good shoes just for fashion trends.
To me, the round toe is the default, the classic that you can wear all the time. The square or pointed toes are the trendy ones that come and go. So I have many lovely round toe boots that I will continue to wear. Everything else you mentioned were fairly extreme trends, and can certainly go!
And that is what you call MAD FACTZ lol...not throwing none if my classic round toe booties...it took me most my lare 30s to finally collect all the classic pieces ..LBD....booties...the right jeans...a fitted blazer ..faux leather jacket...jean jacket etc... Than to nowww have to throw them out because a trend sats to for a minute...nope.....
I was never worried about trends, although I have to admit that I cannot quite understand why as soon as something is "on", most people are starting to look like they are wearing some kind of uniform... Maybe they cannot be bothered to be creative or find a style of their own. And yes, I have always asked myself why would I want to look just like everybody else?
Lots of these have been out for a while; jeggings, cold shoulder tops, platform pumps … they’ve been in the thrift shops for a couple years now. Tie-dye wins for most short-lived trend, and bike shorts not far behind (although always in for a safety layer under short dresses). Animal print is eternal; it will never go out.
@@dianebaum5194 My grandma used to wear all kinds of animal print. Granted she rocked it, but I'm not looking to emulate 99 years old anytime soon. 😄 I could see maybe doing a belt or a bag, but much more and you're in senior territory imho.
I had quite a few pairs of tailored, wide leg, denim trousers in the late 2000s that looked great with my body shape and very chic overall. I paid to have them all hemmed due to my short inseam, which I don't care to do anymore. Well, I donated all of them after a big move as skin-tight skinny jeans were never going out of style it seemed, and they were so dusty from being in storage. Never again will I do that for good-fitting, classic, fall/winter pants. I am petite with some curves and it is impossible to find any that fit even with dressing rooms, plus the quality of clothing in my price range took a huge nosedive after the recession. Save the small splurges that you love. They will come back even if it takes 15 years. Lesson learned that being a minimalist isn't always the wisest thing in the long run (as I'm planning on carefully cleaning out my closet soon).
Exactly. I became friends with a Swedish foreign exchange student back in high school. She had the most amazing jeans that fit her like they we made for her, and were perfectly faded. We all asked her where she got them. Turned out she had them for years and they had faded naturally over time. We were all shocked. Turns out they buy them in the old blue shade you think of as denim and just wear them forever. She was shocked that we buy them prefaded in the U.S. lol! Not sure how they do it now, but that was back in the 90's.
I came here to say what U have just said..👏👏 Fair play to all the ladies on here, who can wear pointy toe shoes/boots, but as someone with a broad foot, I can't wear pointy shoes, even if I wanted to, so my round toe shoes will (for me) definitely be staying put & going nowhere..
If I like them and they’re cute, I’m keeping. Vis a vie wedge sneaker, etc. who decided everything is out? The ones who want to sell more clothes and shoes. Right?
Absolutely, Becky! If you love them, wear them! While this video is more for fun, I do think it can serve as a guide so that people don't invest a lot of their hard earned money in trends that are fading. Ultimately, all that matters is that you love what you wear! xo
Yeah, keeping my boots regardless of round toe. Will not be going to the pointy toe boot. This is interesting to see the styles changing. So glad to see cold shoulder leaving. Micro bags are rather silly to me. Lol, what reality are we in that bike shorts were ever a thing?!
Cold shoulder tops are just super practical for me. I run warm, I'm not super confident in my upper under arms (bingo wings lol), and I'm very pear shaped... So it helps keep me cool (even if only literally), hides areas I'm self conscious about, and adds attention to my shoulders which balances my figure. Plus I'm 31 and it's been both in and out of style at least 3 times since I was in high school so apparently they always come back.
I'm happy seeing the over ripped jeans and cold shoulder tops going Bye Bye! I also love that we are gravitating towards more comfortable jeans and shoes!
I, too, am old enough to have seen the return of dead fashion trends. I can't say I'm sad to see any of these trends go away. I love pointed toe shoes and boots but I'm keeping and wearing my almond toe boots and booties. I agree with you: Wear what you love and makes you happy. The next hot trend is being worn by someone thinking outside the box. Fun video! XXOO ❤
Happy ripped jeans are on the way out! Why spend money on something you could do yourself for free? Boo hoo on the animal print. Have loved it since I was a child! Keeping all of my boots. When you have 15 pairs (includes snow, rain and hiking), it should be easy to let go. It’s not. They’ll be back again. I have a pair that’s 20 years old-equestrian styled. I always get compliments on them.
Animal print is a classic! We are just going to see a bit less of it. Over the past few years it has been EVERYWHERE and on EVERYTHING. I think we will always continue to see this classic print, but now more as a pop. I wouldn't get rid of any boots you love...just store them in the back of your closet! xo
I'm so glad to hear ripped jeans are finally on their way out. It felt like that trend overstayed its welcome. Lol. I love nice jeans that aren't ripped or distressed.
These days I stick to mostly basics and update my wardrobe with a few trendy pieces each season. I'm so happy to see straight legged jeans back! Won't give up my round toe lace up boots; I only just bought them last year:( But I did acquire some super cool knitted pointy toe boots!
Skinny jeans aren’t leaving my closet, although I will favor the pairs that are a little looser. I don’t buy new shoes/boots often so I won’t be swapping anything out there - I detest pointy toe. I didn’t realize anyone was still wearing cold shoulder tops and as a plus size person those super ripped jeans were never going to grace my legs😂
Great video! The biggest issue I have is the footwear. I can't imagine throwing out every round toed shoe I have. That would essentially be my entire closet of like-new shoes/boots and sandals. Am in my 50's now, and have seen these trends go in and out at the whim of designers, ...so that's the area I'm actually training myself to go rogue. I see so many women in my community that have no time or care about the trends, so no-one will even notice, and I'll save my $ and march on with the round toe! ☺️
I agree, Ann...I never throw out good boots. Toe styles change, but they come round and round again (no pun intended 😂 ). I just store out of style boots and bring them back out as the styles change! xo
As a proud 62 year old I love your style and message. I love that you are so positive and promote women in general. All women should do this. Great job and look forward to all your news and videos! You are my favorite! Cynthia
Split the difference and buy straight leg trousers which will always been in style. The skinnies I have are corduroy, only worn in cooler weather with tall (round toe) boots. With size 10 feet I don't need an extra two inches added to my feet.
I wear whatever I want regardless of trends. However I sell on Poshmark so this helps me determine what to discount now and what not to pick up for resale. Thanks!
Same for me. It’s the main reason I watch her videos. But honestly, just being a long time ebay and Poshmark reseller, I know what’s going to sell when I see it.
Hard disagree. As I responded to another comment : Cold shoulder tops are just super practical for me.
@@stretchkitty21 I hear ya and feel similarly. Showing my shoulders feels feminine and a bit sexy while still covering my upper arms, which are no longer a good feature any more.
@@stretchkitty21 Thanks for clarifying this! I love the look of a cold shoulder but couldn't put my finger on why, this explains it exactly! Also why I don't personally wear them because unfortunately, I run cold ^^;
If you're a true boho girl, tie dye is always part of your wardrobe, but I personally love when its not trendy because I like to look different than everyone else! :D
I feel the same way about cold shoulder short sleeved tops. When they are in, I kinda stay away from them, but when they’re not trending, I get lots of compliments when I wear them dancing. Long sleeved sweaters with cold shoulders just leave me shivering. Really dumb.
Glad to see the cold shoulder tops , tie dye , excessively ripped jeans, and platform heels go out. Going to keep my skinny jeans, wedge sneakers , and whatever else I like that works for me.
I always continue to wear the clothes I like, no matter if they are “in style” or not. I wear a lot of vintage and classic items anyway. However, when it comes to buying some new pieces to complement what I have it will be great to find something in stores instead of bike shorts (only while actually riding a bike), shredded jeans (why??), animal print (leave it for the animals) or tie die (looks like a laundry sorting mishap!).
This was great Erin..... however, I'm keeping my skinny jeans, they work the best in boots and love square and almond toe shoes/boot ... not a fan of pointy toe, they make feet look big and are uncomfortable (to me) Platform heels I.e stripper heels lol jk,... never liked them..... biker shorts are great under shorter dresses so keeping them.... glad to see cold shoulder tops exiting.. I say wear whatever makes you feel wonderful... and hold on to what you love... I held onto a fringed jacket from the seventies that came back twice already... and I'm so glad I kept it and it still fits me ;)
It seems these trends have been “out” for a while now. Some people may be still wearing them but their moment has already passed. I agree to keep / store what you love. It will come back as style cycles are accelerating. ❤️
Thanks for the video and information, I don't consider skinny jeans or animal prints to be trends I think they are classics that will stick around, but everything else I am kind of glad to see taking a break. 😁❤️
I agree...The only skinny jeans that are truly "out" are the super skin tight jegging style. As for animal print...it's a classic! We are just going to see a bit less of it. Over the past few years it has been EVERYWHERE and on EVERYTHING. I think we will always continue to see this classic print, but now more as a pop. xo
Love bike shorts under my dresses. I've bought up a bunch now while I can. They are comfy, prevent thigh chafing, and keep me confident in windy weather. I'm also in my 50s, so the fashion element doesn't bother me. I'm not wearing bike shorts on their own 😃
I wear biker shorts and an oversized t-shirt when cleaning. Not something I would ever wear out of the house. I love my animal print so I don't think I will ever give it up. No tears for the micro mini bag.
I have not been wearing cold shoulder tops all season, however, I will continue to wear off shoulder tops. I feel as long as you have a squared shoulders and are over 55, it is one of the sexiest parts of your body. As always thanks Erin! As for the platform tennis shoes (since I’m only 5’4”) I’ll continue to wear them disguised with longer pants....lol! ❤️😜
Go for it! I agree...the shoulders and décolleté are some of the sexiest parts of a woman's body! I'll also be keeping my flatforms for under long flares! xo
I have a comfy pair of wedge heel trainers and would wear them under longer trousers - was going to suggest this. If you find shoes of any type comfortable wear them but a bit differently. Also, trends are not great for the environment and now the deniers can no longer deny, but will try to delay, we should all be more conscious of what we wear, how long, the quality, the comfort, etc. So store it or give it away. I bet some little girls out there would love a micro bag, if not for them, for their dolls (or some boys too). If you like a trend, buy one piece you love. Or keep to your own style but do it well. Many people wish they had hung on to something they let go because it wasn't in. You can often find a way to wear it, i.e. when puffy sleeves go out wear the piece under a jacket or alter the sleeves if you can.
Fun video Erin. I’m keeping my skinnies as I’ve yet to find a pair of slim or straight leg pair I like ! Also only wear rounded toes as have sensitive feet though would wear the square toe in a sandal. Not getting rid of most of my animal print either as I still like it. I do wear biker shorts but as an extra layer under my culottes when our British Summer weather is not playing ball! 🤣
Totally loved finding this one! Amazed at skinny jeans being out,not a fan but everyone wears them including plus…plus size! Not a flattering look. You are just such a great mentor!
I’m fine with everything going away except the round toe shoe. I tried pointed toe boots and just never wore them. I gave them away. I never tried the square toe.
I'm not upset about any of these (although I'm neutral on round-toe shoes and boots). I do follow some trends, but I wear flares and palazzos no matter the trends because they're part of my signature style.
I'm so glad to see the cold shoulder trend go, I remember modeling it for my husband and he said not really a good look for you, so then I had to buy it. I wore it a few times and kept thinking it looked weird on me. It's gone I donated last year. A couple of trends that I'm not happy about going is the animal print. I just purchased another sweater on sale such a good deal!! And I still love the tie dye some of the newer styles are not like the 70"s. 😉. I really like your blogs, My husband says I look more put together lately!
Cold shoulder is definitely out, but not off shoulder. I think we will continue to see bustiers, sweetheart and off shoulder trends for the next few years. They are so feminine and flattering.
As a 72 yr old Gramma most of those "in" styles I never embraced! I still love animal print used subtly ( I have flats, a belt, one or two scarves, a puffy vest and and a couple of sweaters) which I always get compliments when I wear!
Animal print is a classic, Linda! We are just going to see a bit less of it. Over the past few years it has been EVERYWHERE and on EVERYTHING. I think we will always continue to see this classic print, but now more as a pop. xo
I’m a bit sad about the skinny jeans, but I’m thrilled about the overly distressed/ripped jeans. Because of the way my foot is shaped (and a recent accident and surgery) I’ll be keeping my round-toe shoes, but no more heels of any kind.
I used to wear a lot of skinny jeans in the late 2000s and early 2010s. Even being relatively thin, I hated them; but I wore them because they were "in" and looked good. I was so happy to get rid of them and move on to the "tapered" look.
This was so awesome, I’m happy I never bought into the tie-dye trend and I’m also very horrified by crocs coming back. Totally on your side with micro bags as well, my purse is purely functional so it’s just a bonus if it looks extra cute!
Thought cold shoulder left a while ago!! Thankfully animal print "trend" is on the way out bc it's a classic and the less it's a trend the better! Less of it on the market means less cheapo pieces to sift through! 😁 Leopard forever here!
So glad to see most of these go, especially cold shoulder tops. Animal prints look so old lady to me also. But I’m not killing my feet with pointy toe shoes.
Exactly, Mickey...Animal print is a classic! We are just going to see a bit less of it. Over the past few years it has been EVERYWHERE and on EVERYTHING. I think we will always continue to see this classic print, but now more as a pop. xo
I just bought a new animal print dress 🥲!!! Erin, thanks for keeping us updated on trends!!! I feel that Knowing what is “in” makes me feel/look younger!
I agree...I always like to know what is "in" and what is "out" and then I can make the decisions that work best for me and my style. As for animal print...it's a classic! We are just going to see a bit less of it. Over the past few years it has been EVERYWHERE and on EVERYTHING. I think we will always continue to see this classic print, but now more as a pop. xo
Thanks for this video. I will always rock my leopard prints and platform heels. Been here long enough to know what I love, and they will always be part of my personal style.
The number one style rule to always follow is...wear what you love and what makes you feel your best and most confident, Stephanie! Animal print is a classic! We are just going to see a bit less of it. Over the past few years it has been EVERYWHERE and on EVERYTHING. I think we will always continue to see this classic print, but now more as a pop. xo
Just wanted to tell you how much I appriciate your videos. Truth be told I believe you have by far offered more helpful. Information than any other p I have enjoyed your way of communication in regard to fashion trends sure would love to have your fashion sense You sure have offered a lot for me to think about. It's time to purge and make a greater effort to put myself together better. Yes, I do understand dressing for success is very important. Again, I want you to know how much you have helped this very young grandma! Best, Deanna
Lolol I feel like this video tugs at my heart. For YEARS, I held on to platforms. Finally, this last year, I wear non platform shoes and actually despise those clunky platform heels now.
Classic stuff is always best but I'm holding on a JPG léopard top and a skirt with animal peint. And my skinny non jegging jeans. I follow the french philosophe; I wear what suite me and is beautiful. The whole outfit and the accessories make the différence!
The number one style rule to always follow...wear what you love and what makes you feel your best and most confident! As for animal print...it's a classic! We are just going to see a bit less of it. Over the past few years it has been EVERYWHERE and on EVERYTHING. I think we will always continue to see this classic print, but now more as a pop. xo
Thank you Erin, I very much enjoyed this video. To me, it makes a lot of sense cause I never liked most of these trends anyway. I'll keep my ''resonably''skinny jeans.
OMG Erin, those platform heels scream 90's to me! I wore them to my PROM back in the day! :D I for one am so happy that the skinny jean is out. I abandoned that trend a couple years ago. Straight leg jeans all the way!
I feel like the wedge sneakers haven't been around that long! Not long enough! Lol. I live in mobile, AL so style doesn't really matter that much lol, so ill keep wearing them anyway.
Ripped Jeans!! Thank you Jesus! Never liked them, never bought them. I won't be giving up my round toed boots, as I have a wide toe box and just cannot do pointed toe shoes. They are excruciating. I donated all my cold shoulder tops last year, so maybe I was ahead of the trend. I think the one I was most disappointed to hear was animal print. I love leopard, and I think it's a classic. We will see where that goes. This was lots of fun! Thank you Erin.
I am not much of a fan of tie-dye, except for soft monochromatic ones. I have PJs which are super soft and one t-shirt, one skirt & one pair of sneakers. I'll keep them with my chunky heeled sandals.
I really like tie-dye which I will continue to wear since Hawaii tends to be slower about things going out of style. A bit of distressing the jeans is okay for me but I've never cared for those destroyed jeans.
I stay classic with a "slight influence" of current trends. Having said that, I have never been on board with the pointed toe shoes. I wear a size 10. Talk about boat feet. 🤣 I'll stick with my round/almond toe shoes. Lol
The benefit of being fashion oriented and becoming older is that you find out what suits you. For me a skinny Jean is a classic and a roundet boot looks better than a pointed one. So thank you Erin for keeping us up to date and teaching us to stay ourselves 😁 BTW the cold shoulder reminds me of the old trends in the early 2000s and stayed there 😂
Keeping skinny jeans too. I’ve spent a lot of time really watching women over 50 who look amazing. Skinny or straight jeans…dark rinse. Turtle neck sweaters in a nice blend, white button down classic shirts, black moto jackets, small hoop or stud earrings. That’s the recipe for ageless, timeless style. Also not tanning, skipping bronzer and YES letting the grey come in while keeping the shine. The brassy tones that come with constant coloring just lands too flat. Nope to the mom jeans.
Animal prints will never go away in interior design! These are my most favorite prints and I have some beautiful animal print silk blouses. I am more than happy to see bike shorts going out (except for at the gym). Skinny jeans still look great with knee high boots!
Animal print is definitely a classic! We are just going to see a bit less of it. Over the past few years it has been EVERYWHERE and on EVERYTHING. I think we will always continue to see this classic print though, but now more as a pop, and like you mentioned in interior details as well. Trends are so fun to analyze! Thanks for watching! xo
Platform shoes went out of style in the 30s, the 40s, the 50s, the 60s, the 70s, the 80s, the 90s, the 00s, the 10s, and now, the 20s. My point? Platform shoes will never go out of style they are akin to the wrap dress, afros, A-line skirts, ponytails, monochromatic outfits......the're old faithfuls. P.S. They make your legs look IN-credible!!! I love this channel, got my bell notification. Keep the platforms (extreme platforms) they will come back around. Trust!

Are you going to be editing your wardrobe checklist to say dark wash straight jeans instead of skinny? Just curious
I love my wedge sneakers from Linea Paolo!!!! 😭
I'm 60 and I wear whatever makes me feel good. Could not care less what anybody else is doing. Tie dye is FOREVER!
I am 66 and feel the same way. We made it this far and deserve to be us.
I agree with you 100%.
This is the best thing about getting older - Wearing whatever make you feels good!
I'm 60 and doc martens are forever!! Wide range of styles and built to last. I've received more compliments on a pair I bought years ago from all age ranges. Rock what you like. 🙃
Good for you
The benefit of not wearing trends is that I don't have to worry about removing most of these from my closet. 🤣
I hear you, Leslie! I love investing in a few trend pieces to pair with my classic basics. Keeps things a bit more exciting! xo
Yes I dont worry too much about trends 😂
Exactly!
Exactly what I was thinking, and who decides what’s “on trend” anyway? I like to have a few cute new pieces to go with my classics, but fast fashion is a real problem for our wallets and our environment. My 2 cents. 🤷🏼♀️
I’m never giving up my Rag & Bone booties Erin- they will be peeled from my cold dead hands 😂😂😂🤗🌞
As John MaClean says, ‘I don’t follow trends. I find they are for the anxious.’ My round toe boots and skinny jeans are going nowhere.
Too funny! Love that, Shelley! xo
Girl im so on board w/ u there‼️
Same!! Skinny jeans till I die!!
Love me some John Maclean 💕
Same!!!
Exactly!! I totally agree!
I agree with you CocoStyle. That said, I can't imagine I will be in style with my footwear for a while because I cannot wear pointed toes. My feet are steadfastly against them.
Exactly, it's classic
I wear square because theres a little more room in the tow box lol
Thank you, Mary! xo
I agree lol except skinny jeans never worked in my favor :( I was a volleyball/soccer player and they made my legs look even bigger than they already were 🙃 especially once I started playing in college....YIKES
I agree 100% - I love skinny jeans and a big sweater and a splash of animal print always looks good but it can't be overdone
I hate skinny jeans, skinny pants, leggings, etc.
No, no, no. Not throwing away my clothes because “they” say it’s not in style! I like my clothes, nothing is going until it wears out.
No need to throw anything out that you love, JoAnn! This is more for fun, but to also help guide future buying decisions. xo
You can be stylish but not in style. Trends do move a bit quickly at times.
I just wrote a comment like this. Love that some are thinking this way.
Everything comes back in style eventually
Exacty!!! #1, I can't afford to and #2, I'm not so easily led astray.
I agree...shoe styles especially always come back (and usually quicker than clothing styles). Good shoes are always worth keeping. xo
Couldn’t have explained it better
My mother has been doing the same for decades! And now I have aged enough to say "me too"!
I’m keeping the round toe. People will soon see that the pointy toe makes your foot look HUGE.
Wear what you love and what most flatters YOUR body! xo
Agree! Who needs a size 10 foot to look bigger when you’re only 5’ 4” to begin with. 😬
Maybe if your foot size is big, but if not, they elongate just perfectly ❤️ They aren’t comfortable for everyone though.
@@teresas8173 agreed. I have sz 6.5 foot on a 5’6” frame, a pointy toed heeled pump makes my feet more balanced than a stumpy round toed one. I almost never wear round/almond toe.
I agree, I'm 5'2 with a size 8 shoe. I hate pointy toe...makes my feet look too big.
The number one style rule to always follow...wear what you love and what makes you feel your best and most confident! xo
I love round toed shoes. For health reasons and comfort they work best for me. Plus, I am very petite and pointy shoes make me look like an elf!!
😂🤣😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Elves wear VERY long pointy, CURLED up shoes I thought . Lol 😂
Yes! Pointed toes make the foot appear LONGER. Who in the hell wants a BIGGER FOOT 😩😂
@@-MaryPoppins- LOL I have rather proportionally small feet, so I can use a little lengthening! The overall effect is not so much making my feet bigger, but rather making my legs look longer!
This stuff always cracks me up….like who says….
Same!!
I guess I am going to be outdated, I am still rocking my skinny jeans and my leopard print everything! Thanks for sharing…
Go for it! The number one style rule to always follow is...wear what you love and what makes you feel your best and most confident! xo
Skinny jeans, cold shoulders, animal print and rounded toes will stay in my wardrobe. Maybe not worn as much, but definitely not going bye bye. The rest I didn’t really wear to begin with. 🤷🏻♀️
Exactly...no need to get rid of anything you love, Jennifer! This is more of a guide for future purchases. xo
Me too!!!
Platform heels have been out for quiiiite a while.....so long, in fact, that I'm pretty sure they're actually making a comeback right now haha.
Agreed, and the cold shoulder shirts and wedge sneakers have been out for a while now, like years ago…
Platforms are actually coming back heavy! High fashion brands are making alit them now!
Noooooo I hate platform heels they are so trashy to me
@@genevawelch9865 Depends on the kind of platform.
Yes agree ! 👍🏻
For me animal print always looked old fashioned and outdated. Not sure why.
@@Estella0707 I agree! Always thought it looked like something from the 70’s seniors worn.
@@dianebaum5194 My grandma used to wear all kinds of animal print. Granted she rocked it, but I'm not looking to emulate 99 years old anytime soon. 😄 I could see maybe doing a belt or a bag, but much more and you're in senior territory imho.
Tie dye has been in and out since the 70’s and I still love it.
It was popular in the late 60s too.
When we wore real ripped or worn jeans, they were not bought preripped. Out Jeans earned their distressed look.
Those are the only ones I wore.
I loved mine too. And when the knees just looked terrible they became my favorite shorts.
I’m fine with all the outgoing trends except rounded toe shoes. They look good and are comfortable so I’ll be keeping mine.
Go for it! You never have to get rid of anything that you love! xo
Me too! Only wear almond / rounded toe shoes and boots. 👍
I came here to say what U have just said..👏👏
Fair play to all the ladies on here, who can wear pointy toe shoes/boots, but as someone with a broad foot, I can't wear pointy shoes, even if I wanted to, so my round toe shoes will (for me) definitely be staying put & going nowhere..
I keep trying pointed toe shoes, but they make my size 9 feet look sooo big. I just can't.
Agreed! Round toes are a classic! Pointy or boxy toe shapes are trendy and come and go, but round is classic and most comfortable for every day wear.
If I like them and they’re cute, I’m keeping. Vis a vie wedge sneaker, etc. who decided everything is out? The ones who want to sell more clothes and shoes. Right?
This is a GREAT point. I decide on what to wear, not "the man". Some of the modern styles look silly on me.😂
Absolutely, Becky!
Right? I never understood them either, Kim! I'm keeping my round toe boots too, but I won't be investing in new ones with this toe shape right now. xo
I love my round toe boots too. Pointy never made sense to me... They're always so narrow in the toe and make my feet look so long.
Never got into chunky or platform anything.
Just awful on really short women with short, maybe slightly chunky legs!!
Agree. Some body types look better in rounded toes
I thought the cold shoulder tops and wedge sneakers were out like three years ago?? Lol 😆
They have been on their way for a few seasons now.
My shoulders are my best feature these days - so off the sh0ulder tops and a few cold shoulder tops I am so keeping🤗
I’m a tiny bit sad for the wedge sneakers. They were quite comfortable, but as they got buffier, it got tacky. Quite sad.
Fun video! XXOO ❤
Exactly...you got it, Pat! SO glad you enjoyed this one! xo
I wouldn't get rid of any boots you love...just store them in the back of your closet! xo
@@BusbeeStyle I'm fine with that as well. I have my leopard print belt or my shell top; that's enough to jazz up any of my outfits!
Don’t ditch the animal print, update it by wearing vibrant deep dyed jewel toned tops that take it to a new level of wow!
It's gone nowhere. From haute couture to street style outside the major fash festivals, it's still everywhere.
I'm so glad to hear ripped jeans are finally on their way out. It felt like that trend overstayed its welcome. Lol. I love nice jeans that aren't ripped or distressed.
Glad to hear pointed toes shows are on their way back in as I love them. Will hold on to my skinny jeans a bit longer, but thanks for the heads up ⭐️
Me too...they are so elongating! xo
yes! I'm 5'1 and I love my pointy toes shoes too
I've just bought some pointed toe shoes! I wouldn't call myself on trend though 😂. Will still be wearing skinny jeans 👖
“Classic” is never out of style.
Absolutely
Definitely! That’s why they are classic. When trends are overdone by the common mass, classics become even more fashionable and stylish.
I agree.
The preppy in me is so happy! Never wore distressed jeans, animal prints, or ridiculously high heels! Yay!
Cynthia
You are SO sweet, Cynthia! Thank you! xo
Cold shoulders never should have been a thing!
Hard disagree. As I responded to another comment : Cold shoulder tops are just super practical for me.
@@stretchkitty21 they just look SO outdated 😭
@@stretchkitty21 I hear ya and feel similarly. Showing my shoulders feels feminine and a bit sexy while still covering my upper arms, which are no longer a good feature any more.
I hate cold shoulder tops.
@@stretchkitty21 Thanks for clarifying this! I love the look of a cold shoulder but couldn't put my finger on why, this explains it exactly! Also why I don't personally wear them because unfortunately, I run cold ^^;
If you're a true boho girl, tie dye is always part of your wardrobe, but I personally love when its not trendy because I like to look different than everyone else! :D
Wear what you love...always the most important rule to follow, Jamie! xo
I’ll be buried in tie dye! Loved it since I was little and will love it for the rest of my life! ✌🏻❤️😄
Jamie, "Groovy"
I feel the same way about cold shoulder short sleeved tops. When they are in, I kinda stay away from them, but when they’re not trending, I get lots of compliments when I wear them dancing. Long sleeved sweaters with cold shoulders just leave me shivering. Really dumb.
Great ... Do what makes you happy and comfortable... I also follow my own style. It took a decade to stabilised though
I love animal print , not the painted on looks but a nice flowy leopard print dress is so versatile
I think we will always continue to see this classic print, but now more as a pop. xo
And I actually prefer animal print in moderation lol. Have a great day 🙌
Love bike shorts under my dresses. I've bought up a bunch now while I can. They are comfy, prevent thigh chafing, and keep me confident in windy weather. I'm also in my 50s, so the fashion element doesn't bother me. I'm not wearing bike shorts on their own 😃
Biker shorts are perfect for that purpose! xo
I do this too. Especially for church. Sometimes I teach the little ones and bike shorts are crucial under a skirt or dress.
I wear biker shorts and an oversized t-shirt when cleaning. Not something I would ever wear out of the house. I love my animal print so I don't think I will ever give it up. No tears for the micro mini bag.
The list of trends that I'm happy for it to go:
1, micro bags
2, tie dye
3, biker shorts
4, platform stiletto heels/shoes
I'm so happy these are going
Yesss!
Yes 🙌
Very ripped jeans too.
Never loved any of em and thank goodness!
I am from Nigeria 🇳🇬 and the tie dye will never go out of fashion because it is part of my culture... Thank you for the video
Totally loved finding this one! Amazed at skinny jeans being out,not a fan but everyone wears them including plus…plus size! Not a flattering look.
You are just such a great mentor!
Thanks for watching! It's important to wear the things that you feel your best in! I'm glad you enjoyed this one! xo
I’m fine with everything going away except the round toe shoe. I tried pointed toe boots and just never wore them. I gave them away. I never tried the square toe.
Give the square toe a try...it's really just an updated round toe. xo
I'm not upset about any of these (although I'm neutral on round-toe shoes and boots). I do follow some trends, but I wear flares and palazzos no matter the trends because they're part of my signature style.
I love skinny jeans!! The other trends I didn't do anyway but I can't give up my skinny jeans.
I just bought my first pair of wedge sneakers and haven’t worn them yet. I’m keeping them🤫 Thanks for the video, Erin.
I was in the store yesterday and saw many pairs of wedge sneakers.
Me too!
Rounded and square toes.
Pointed are agony. And I think they look like you can only wear them if your feet have been binded.
I’ve been wearing tie-dye for years and I’m not stopping now. I had these prices for years and I’ve watched them come back time and time again.
I used to wear a lot of skinny jeans in the late 2000s and early 2010s. Even being relatively thin, I hated them; but I wore them because they were "in" and looked good. I was so happy to get rid of them and move on to the "tapered" look.
I didn’t jump on a lot of these trends so not worried about them going out of style except for skinny jeans! I’m keeping those 😀
Same
Same.
This was so awesome, I’m happy I never bought into the tie-dye trend and I’m also very horrified by crocs coming back. Totally on your side with micro bags as well, my purse is purely functional so it’s just a bonus if it looks extra cute!
Also horrified by crocs coming back.
Yay! I'm so glad you enjoyed! Not a croc fan either! xo
Eww, crocs

I'm glad to hear that the extreme torn/holy ripped jeans are out! I never thought it made sense!
So glad to see most of these go, especially cold shoulder tops. Animal prints look so old lady to me also. But I’m not killing my feet with pointy toe shoes.
Both cold shoulder and animal print stayed a surprisingly long time in my opinion. I agree that animal print will stay somewhat in accent pieces.

I for one am so happy that the skinny jean is out. I abandoned that trend a couple years ago. Straight leg jeans all the way!
I had a similar pair of silver platforms I wore to my prom circa 1999!
Thanks Erin. Hope you're all having a beautiful time in Spain 😁
You're SO welcome, Tricia! We are having a wonderful time. xo
I feel like the wedge sneakers haven't been around that long! Not long enough! Lol. I live in mobile, AL so style doesn't really matter that much lol, so ill keep wearing them anyway.
Go for it...wear what you love! That's what's most important, Dana! xo
Lol
Sooooo glad skinny jeans are out. I haven’t liked them for a single day! 😆 Fun video. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed, Chelsa! xo
Excited to see cold shoulder & extreme platform going BYE BYE!! 🤩
The happiest saying a big bye bye to bike shorts 🙏🏼🙌🏻🙏🏼🙌🏻
I’m not a fan of animal print… I’m glad to see that go! But I lost 80lbs and finally became comfortable and started loving in skinny jeans. Ugh!
Congratulations, Kari! That's amazing! Skinny jeans are still a classic, just try and avoid those skin tight legging style jeans! xo
Just no "jeggings" 😂 The worst!
@@BusbeeStyle thank you!
The rounded toe boot is the only one I'm not willing to let go. 😉
I’m the most grateful, for the diminishing animal prints!!! I’m proud to be a human!!!
Trust!
They always come back around! For now I am enjoying the lower profile heels and just storing my platforms. xo
Honestly, I will not miss any of these trends.
Yay for ditching the ripped up jeans! May the next I need jeans I'll actually be able to find some I can wear.
I’m happy to see all of it go out except platform heels!! Those will never go out!!!
It’s always interesting to see what’s in and what’s out. But I wear what I want.
