    🌱About Vegan in China
    -----------------------------------
    I'm Alex, a Canadian living her best vegan foodie life in China! When I moved to Beijing in 2019, everyone told me it would be impossible to maintain my meatless lifestyle... Well, 5 years later I'm still here thriving and discovering new yummy plant-based dishes every day, and I want to share them with YOU!
    From street-side delights to fancy Michelin finds, my mission is simple: to prove that being vegan in China is not only possible but downright delicious! Whether you're fully vegan or simply a food enthusiast, I welcome you to join me on my adventures chatting with locals and sampling the diverse flavours of authentic Chinese cuisine.

    I really enjoy your descriptions of Chinese food, and it is even more heartening to see how happy you are living in China. I am a Chinese student pursuing a master's degree in Italy. Unfortunately, most European media tend to maliciously distort the image of China, leading many people here to have a very mistaken perception of it.
    China is like a large Italian salami; you need a special machine to slice it very thinly to taste it properly and appreciate its best flavor. I am delighted that, despite the widespread misconceptions about China in the Western world, you have found that special "machine" and are adept at handling this "giant ham."
    Many people in the English-speaking world are hacking at this ham haphazardly, resulting in a poor taste experience, and then complaining about the sausage.
    Your videos have also inspired me. I plan to create videos about Chinese culture here in Italy, presenting it from a thoughtful perspective to help Westerners see China in the right light.
    Thank you! I wish you endless happiness in China!❤

      Thank you for taking the time to write this comment! I have so much appreciation for Chinese people and the cuisine, and I'm glad to know it comes across in my videos. I think your video project sounds very worthwhile! Good luck and have a wonderful time in Italy (another country I love so much!)

    Don't forget to ask what kind of oil they are using, because sometimes they don't use vegan oil.

    • @veganinchina
      @veganinchina  21 день назад +2

      I always ask when something is fried in a wok, and I also asked about the noodles because I saw many signs saying they were mixing them with lard. However for deep frying, Chinese cuisine pretty much just uses soybean, vegetable or peanut oil.
