Welcome to HK, the street food is all we eat from childhood till now! Area near Temple Street is where I would hang out when I was a kid. Chun Fun is our staple food, always delicious! The grilled octopus is definitely not the freshest in HK, there are much better ones which is bouncier yet tender meat! Kudos to you trying out the chicken's feet which is our all time favorite!! We eat it ever since we are a kid!
Another brilliant vlog !! When you broke out into a dance at the pizza stand was hilarious 🤣🤣🤣 I love how you can change language and surprise people 👏👏👏Even though it’s rotten I love how you both give it a go 🙌
I'm glad you went to the "sweet and sour" takeaway restaurant; it's such a local, day-to-day type of cheap eats (the HK version of meal deals) that's seldom covered by international tourists.
Great to see you in my hometown, have been following you for a while! Many Westerners come here for the fishing village, Tai O, or doing other natural things such as hiking. Hong Kong is not just Hong Kong Island and Kowloon, those places are less busy, and that's much more important.
@JackAynsleyTravel Great ! Sounds really good if you want you can visit mountaneous region. God bless you both abundantly. Great watching you both and looking forward for it.
Chicken feet are really delicious, but you need to be sitting down in order to enjoy them, which you might have already figured out. Hope you will give another go. Great episode 👍.
Absolutely, love to see friendly and kind people around. The food look’s very tasty. I love spicy food too just not too hot for me. The one I liked the look of was the Famous Hong Kong Sweet and Sour look so good! You two are amazing, keep doing what you’re doing you’re both amazing! Love you both ❤
The chicken feet is one of the dim sum lots of Chinese people love to eat. Actually it is deep fried, then steam with black beans sauce. Things in HK are a bit expensive comparing to the mainland and Macau. If you guys still there, I wish you an amazing time. Cheers!
Please come to Macau and visit. It’s totally different from HK. Macau was a Portuguese colony but now SAR of China. It’s only 1hr from HK either by ferry or bus. Come over look us up and take you around!! We are known as the vegas of Asia - But there is history, culture and a lot of food here!!!
This is not how we live in Hong Kong....lol On a typical weekend, we wake up. Go for a satay beef noodle with toast and milk tea. Then, go for some groceries shopping. And then, gym. Then, dim sum lunch with the fam. After that, we head out with friends for some sports or go for hobbies. Then back home for a shower before going out for dinner & drinks with wife & friends. What you do is very touristy and crude. You need to mingle with the locals.
Listening to fav music bands while having late night drinks is quite a fun activity too. Or just hanging around at friend's place. We go for cigar, wine, supper like yours, too. Sunday is mainly for fam, some other sports, shopping etc. or just simply do some cooking or dining out for some fine cuisines.
That’s awesome. Was wondering whether you’ll be trying out your Cantonese 😂 You can get chicken feet here in the UK when eating out for Dim Sum here too. Great videos. Looking forward to the next 👍🏻
octopus is all about long lasting chewing with seafood umami keeps on giving the more you chew.... chicken feet or phoenix claws...... it's deep fried then braised in fermented black bean based sauce.... also HK gov't don't issue much new charcoal licenses or at all due to environmental reasons....
If you have the time make sure you pop to one of the outlying inhabited islands, Peng chau is lovely. It’s small and quaint and so relaxed with some anmazing beaches. Also try to take the mtr out into the new territories, youl find hiking trails and beautiful walled villages. There is so much more to hk than people realise. Hope you’re having a blast!.
Temple Street is for the tourist, you should try the Hong Kong Island causeway bay Jaffe Road near the sogo department store, all my favorite local food( 茶餐廳)over there
agree. Locals don't really eat at Temple Street. Anyway it's shocking (and sad) to see those new small food hawkers lining up along the street - Temple Street was never like this and those stalls are run by immigrants from China not locals. Those stalls and the layout are so not HongKong (it's actually a China thing)! Miss the old Temple Street
Enjoying seeing you and Paige again on your travels, was wondering if you guys had thought of doing a North African tour starting from Morocco and working your way east through Algeria to Tunisia to Libya and ending up in Egypt? Either way enjoy your time in HK. Saying hi from Scotland 🏴
Can't believe how quiet Temple Street is now - for decades it used to be incredibly crowded and jam packed every night. Proved that the economy of the city is really going downhill!
Remember to go visit the big buddha using the cable cars there is amazing views. Also do Victoria peak nice views from the top that's if it's not foggy
27:00 Chicken Feet are cooked three times to achieve the proper texture. They are fried, braised, and steamed. Little known fact:there is NO skin on chicken feet. The skin is removed, otherwise you'd be eating scales. A healthy chicken's feet have smooth, evenly spaced scales that are relatively flat and shiny, similar to snake skin-this is why it's removed. The love for chicken feet is with texture, flavor., and the fun of the experience. The best, most flavorful flesh of an animal will always be around the bones. Chinese cuisine is exemplary at textures. There are 144 terms in the Chinese language for texture of food alone, which provides insight as to just how important it is in the culture.
7:17 This restaurant serves rice and curry similar to Thai food. This one is similar to Thai food. The name is sweet and sour chicken. Can't it be used with steamed rice? It's from Thailand. 🇹🇭🇹🇭
Hey jack bro ! Im from india Varanasi & i often watch ur vlogs and love❤ that my recommendation is that you go and explore the rural Areas of HK! THANX 🎉
Hong Kong does not need to build atomic bombs or satellites, nor does it need heavy industry, while the mainland needs these, not because of its mass, thanks to the fact that leaders chose to give priority to national defense and industrialization, otherwise they are not as good as India today, and ordinary people do not have the vision and strategy of leaders for their own sake. The fact is that after the founding of the people's Republic of China, it is only when we engage in heavy industry and then light industry that there is the possibility of upgrading the manufacturing industry today.

It's a better opportunity to educate your viewers and you might be surprised, there is a high chance she'll tell you because it's not.a secret. If you don't like peanuts or sesame, you can ask for it without.

Hong Kong is a beautiful, friendly and safe city.

Hong Kong food is basically Cantonese (Guangdong) style food.
It's soo good! I need to go to Guangdong, it looks tasty
cantonese, hakka, teochew, hokkien mixed with western influences
you should also try some small and decent restaurant of Hongkong, the food quality is So good
