So when I saw the title of this video, the first thought that popped into my head was, "He'd better include the Brubaker run of Captain America!" 😂😂 You did not disappoint! Great video, awesome picks.
Could I leave Brubaker’s Captain America off this list? impossible! haha 😂👏 Thanks for watching 📚 Any other favorite Marvel runs you’d add to this list?
I read JMS’s Spider-Man run and I enjoyed it a lot, probably my favorite run for Spider-Man aside from Ultimate Spider-Man. I don’t like the idea of Spider-Man being totemic either but I will say that for the most part it was done well and I kinda liked Ezekiel, he was an interesting character. My overall thought on JMS’s run is that the Highs are High and the Lows are Low, so does great character work though (except sins past, the other, and OMD even though that last one wasn’t his fault it was marvels). I still highly recommend to anyone that wants to get into Spidey.

@TheComicBookReport just finished the essential xmen No47 onslaught and am on 48 which was really good, but unsure if I'll buy the rest of the collection or start reading rebirth
I have the Daredevil by Frank Miller and Klaus Jensen Omnibus with Daredevil issue #181 on cover (the one with Daredevil in background and Bullseye and Elecktra flying at each other with each holding 1 sai).
I like all the choices except JMS Spider-Man, I feel that Ultimate Spider-Man is a far better run overall. I’m glad you at least mentioned it! Aaron’s Thor or Cates Venom would be on my list as well with Brubakers Cap.
Great video. Thank you. Have read X-Men & Miller’s DD run when they came out in singles and they are every bit as good as you say. Have the other 3 to read and can’t wait. Like you, I’ve heard all the JMS beef but I am very much up for it. I don’t know if it counts as a run as such but Whedon/Cassaday’s Astonishing X-Men is the book that brought me back to comics after 20+ years away so have to give it some love.
Yeah I think in spite of some faults I still LOVE that JMS Spidey run it just nails the characters and the tone I love in a Spidey book 🕷️ And astonishing X-men would be a fantastic addition to the list! 👏
I think so too! A complex and engaging narrative and yet accessible to new or prospective readers! One of my favorite runs of all time 📚 Any Marvel Runs you’d add to the list?
Been in such a Daredevil mood lately, and I’m so annoyed that the Miller Omnibus already went out of print. At least, the Bendis Omni is coming out next year and I’m 100% buying that ASAP.
Yeah I have so much of the daredevil runs in paperbacks or small hardcovers would love to someday upgrade to Omnis of them all. I definitely want that Bendis run in omnibus format but need to look at my budget ha 😂
Personally, I’m too worried about formatting; I have Snyder’s Batman run in paperback and that’s fine with me, for example. I only worry about formatting when it’s hurts the story or the story collected is so long that you know the book is going to get damaged. That’s my biggest concerns w/ the Starman Compendium and Immortal Hulk Omni - they’re too big and it makes me worried how long they’ll last.
@@jakebeninato9938 I totally get that! I just finished the first Starman compendium actually review dropping Wednesday. Mine held up great after that first read and I wasn’t gentle but I’m not sure on longevity 🤷🏻♂️
I'm a big Babylon 5 fan, JMS is a favorite. He had some editorial interference along the way but I still love his Spider-Man run, especially the earlier stuff with Morlun and Ezekiel.
@@TheComicBookReportThe effects are dated but if you can get past that the story and characters are fantastic. Season 1 is a bit difficult the first time you watch, a lot of set up happens, if you can get through that it gets much better from season 2 on.
@@TheComicBookReport Tough call, as pretty much everything Hickman does blows my mind, but his run on X-Men was nothing short of revolutionary (in my humble opinion), and I REALLY loved the Joss Weadon/John Cassaday Astonisging X-Men too. BUT if you have to chose only one run per character, your choices are more than valid.
Daredevil is such a bad ass. JMS run is my favourite run on Spiderman I'm gonna be honest I found bendis's run kinda boring. I loved what JMS did by turning Peter into a high school teacher and helping his community. I would personally put Punisher Max in there as he's my favourite hero. Great list though. You got good taste man.
Hi! So that omnibus for Daredevil is the main run from Frank Miller on the title. He came back to do the man without fear and Born Again and those are actually collected in a different omnibus called the Daredevil by Frank Miller Omnibus Companion

Cap run was very good. DD run was cool. Killed Electra. She should have stayed dead. Always dying and coming back. Zzz . Love the X,-Men for years. Now they are too woke
