So nice to see younger people work on and show love for the old volvos, got an 80's 240 wagon myself. Enjoyed the video and looking forward to the next.
when you put the engine back in make sure your engine and gearbox is aligned properly otherwise you will break your prop shaft. the prop should be able to slide freely on the splines and check it again after some driving i’ve broke 2 props myself and there getting hard to find now. love seeing 300 content on yt
Watching you working on your volvo in the Netherlands is motivating me to work on my mk2 golf 14,000km away in Perth, Australia. Keep up the good work!
My first car in 1991; A 1982 345DL, 4 speed manual. B14 w/Solex carb. I think there was a version with Weber carb that was slightly more powerful, so I was envious. But yeah, the head gasket blew on my car as well. Fun to see people actually working on this car model still. Looking forward to the follow up.
I’m always very impressed with someone who has the confidence in themselves to go ahead and take their own engine out. Many years ago I took the engine out of a 125cc motorbike and I found that much simpler task extremely daunting. Perhaps one day I will try and put it back.
Good job working on this dubious 1.4 Renault unit - The 340's model was available with a much better B19 fuel injected engine and a proper transmission to match. Perhaps a driveline transplant would be an option?!
I like your content and how you've been doing the videos. Wrench on and keep being you, don't let anything ruin your passion for cars. Still can't believe how pretty you are, just wow (trying to not sound creepy lol)
That Dafje 55 looks cool too..😁 And how I hate working in the fall/winter outdoors on motor vehicles when I was still tinkering (90's)🥶. Luckily it's not TOO cold for you ..........yet

Nice to see people repairing things themselves. I have 0 knowledge about cars, but I like watching people repair/build stuff. And it helps if they are goodlooking :P Maybe buy an action cam. Easier to mount, steadier image and you can get some cool driving shots from outside the car. Where and how did you learn to repair cars?
Wow that's actually a really good idea to buy an action cam!!! Thanks for the tip 😁 I learned to work on cars by just trying for years I guess - also following along many youtube videos haha. Also helping friends out with their cars and helping at a local workshop in my free time ☺️

Love your videos! But can you do them any longer? Ca 30min is perfect ❤️ I’m also following two Swedish girls that fixing cars and the fun part is that they started with no knowledge at all, they ask their followers for tips.
Hey, awesome channel! I just found you yesterday...proper classic cars, mechanics and tools...I'm subscribed!😂 Brilliant Volvo, I have a 1989 240GL and love it! My 1989 Saab 900 Turbo and 1979 Mini Special make up my collection. Love your Honda also, I've had a few older Honda's and they are incredible, especially the V-Tecs! Looking forward to seeing more of your classics and projects 👌🙂
Another video thats spot on. You made that job look so easy! Keen to see what your plans are with it and what its like when you tear it down! Only one thing i was going to mention, could consider making the vids a little longer 12-14 minute mark work well. Are you monetising @8mins? Looking forward to the next video. 😊
Thank you so muuuch! Is 12-14 minutes better for monetization? I'm not monetized yet so I don't know to be honest. Thought you could insert midrolls starting from 8 minutes but I'm not sure haha
Ashame it doesn't have the variomatic system. Would have been a great insight in the whole system cause this easy base tends to be a bit more complex than people realise.
@@joy.vanhaelen I had one of those cars when I was a kid. One day I was at a level crossing, waiting for the train to pass, and suddenly I was surrounded by my own private cloud! Turns out one of the cylinder head seals had given way, and all of the coolant blew out through the exhaust...

hahah i repaired tens of these as a kid/teen, together with my father in the 90s in Romania where domestic Dacias had several variations of this engine. Usually, it was piston rings, crank seals, valve seals, water pump, sometimes timing chain (or tensioner, rather), valve rocker play adjustment and it was ready to go again. I've never seen one with a blown head gasket though. Did you overheat it ?
1400 with a turbo is alright too. Car weighs only 900 without all the junk. Engines are cheap to get. Affordable hobby. A B23 already go for about 500-700 euros, the B14 for about 50-150. Also, the 2 liter doesn't fit the entire transaxle. You change that out too; GB = about another 500 bucks. TT = 300. Just buy a 360.

Ja klopt , of een b20 volvo
Very nice❤

It's much easier to grab a wheel and spin it to get the car moving rather than pulling on the car. It takes surprisingly little effort 😊
Mooie auto
