A ton of companies have their rendition of a pilots watch but IWC does it best.
Love this piece. Incredibly light on the wrist, slim and great details. Want!
That's the perfect size for the IWC Pilot👏👏👏
I love the constant seconds hand, no ticking. Beautiful, I like the little prince version of this they have now for spirit.
IWC is one of the first and best manufacturers to make Titanium watches. I'm a big fan of this brand
Very beautiful watch, love the pilot watches, great readiaility, nice case design. Simply, classy but very handsome. Great review.
I bought one and love it! Sellita movement (with IWC tinkering) makes it very accurate, just +2 spd on mine.
Simple and timeless... I'm not an IWC fan... But this watch is a timekeeper...
Beautiful piece, proportions, in titanium with blue needles, I love it. Just a shame that it does not have the manufacturing movement.
Thanks for this detailed review. I'm now the proud owner of an IWC Mark XVIII Heritage IW3270-06 watch.
Would you know of a good source for a textile straps for this?
I love it and I can guarantee all said.
Good video.
The white text in the date window sticks out like a sore thumb. Deal breaker for me. I'd have preferred no date.
iwc is just.... the best
What a handsome watch!
I love that watch. It's beautiful. I was going to get one, and tried one on at a local jeweler, but believe it or not, it wears bigger than my Submariner (114060). I was surprised by that, so I passed on it. I want something with a smaller foot print.
Same for me. I have 16,5cm wrist and 46mm is the sweet spot for me. For a Flieger i would go up to 48mm, but 50mm is just too big.
The lug to lug is not proper
Nice tool watch. Wish the date window was a little more eccentric though.
Selitta SW300 to IWC specification… wonder what is different.
Is the leather strap on this version as good as the Santoni leather strap on the regular Mark XVIII?
Santoni strap is prettier. Still nice quality (made in France) and thick.
Is this the only titanium mark XVIII model watch?
Absolutely love it, basic utilitarian perfection! And you almost got it right Tim, but the ETA version is 30110, not 30111 :-)
That’s incorrect. The IW32700-6 titanium is 30111, which uses the sellita sw300. That’s an ebauche movement that’s an identical comparison to the ETA 2892. The sellita SW300 is comparatively equal in performance to the ETA 2892, and in some cases better performance than high end in house movements.
Is the titanium grade 5 for this?
This is a really nice thing indeed. But, while I'm definitely not anti-ETA/Sellita, this is really at the extreme top of the range where that works for me. You can get a Stowa Flieger 40, spec'd with a top grade 2824-2 -- or, even better, a Sellita hand-wound. And you can get it with *no date*, if you want. For a thousand bucks, give or take, brand new, you just tell them how you'd like it. It's true that the Stowa lacks a threaded crown, which is a real ding. But I think I'd get the hand-wound anyway, so ... And "no date" really means ghost date, which is understandable at the price (meaning $1000, not $4000), but not great. All in all, to me, it's got more flieger tool cred than this one does. From an "original five" real-life flieger builder. It's just less fancy than the IWC. So putting a few knocks on it will feel like it ought to. This is nice, though, and it could take its knocks too ...
@@ruggsterify Cheers for the good info. Makes sense.
Great video
IWC and Longines for a military pilot's watch, Breitling for a Navitimer.
Doesn't matter how big these watches are... They say ahh it fit's perfectly!! NO I am sorry, it's big and it looks childish all the time. Watch companies think case diameter equals value.
Would be the perfect watch if the date wheel wasn't in white and instead same tone of the IWC script.
Nice piece
Is it an inhouse movement ?
nope
No pretty sure IWC just decorates it, and I love this watch. The only thing holding me back is that most high end brands are offering their own in house even at base models now, but this is acrually an off shoot of the ETA..
SW300
Qwerty Man Not even assembled in-house, just put inside the case, which feels a bit wierd. Compare the IWC Mark series to Hamiltons automatic and mechanical field watches with ETA, of course different grades of movements but one can't help but wonder where the value in the IWC is.
Amazing watch👍
Lug to lug is too long on their pilot watches
If it's really 6 Bar (60 metres) why can't it be worn when swimming in the sea or pool?
Because water resistance in the watch industry isn’t literal. Only when a watch is rated to 100m is it truly 100m resistance. 30m usually means “splash proof” and 50m is often good enough for swimming in the watch industry. Do not be mistaken thinking you can swim with a 30m watch.
is the dial black or dark blue?
black. hands are blue
Need that lug-to-lug under 49mm 😖😖😖
how can something so tiny and simple costs thousands of dollars???
🤩
