also her urdu pronounciation is horrible. other actors are doing so well but she is disappointing
Shukria! At last other real Urdu speakers are noticing. Basic words of Urdu, such as khwaab, taqdeer, ishq and seaahi were mispronounced. Bollywood always gets Urdu wrong. They work so hard on music, sets and clothes. But it´s like they think that Urdu means slowing it down, whispering the dialogues and trying to sound "haughty". You´d think such a huge project could have afforded a language coach!

Story was good, performance was good, everyone did excellent job, except alam, show was ruined bcoz of her, unusual face and only one expression for every scene
She appears to be wearing the Dress that Mallikajaan was stitiching in Her first look Promo. Like, Mallikajaan is trying to mould and mentor her ; or could be using Her to maintain control. The Colours definitely match; and SLB always says a lot with Colours.

@@Lilac_xoxo Unfortunately I couldn't watch the show yet, due to prior commitments. However, now that I googled it, the 4th Episode is indeed titled "Alamzeb : The Innocent Pawn".
On closer inspection, the shade of the Green of the dress being stitched by Mallikajaan is slightly, minutely different from the Shade of Green worn here. I have dresses in both colours. Either it is a trick played on eyes by the Light Effects. Or, it is an intentional difference, to show that while She appeared to be what Mallikajaan seemed to mould her into, She still is different.
I have to watch it to find out.

The girl who played her servant/ friend saima deserved this role. She had so much expressions while this woman has a very stiff face probably due to botox and very western strong features. Not suitable for Indian women roles.

The only people who will be impressed by the "Urdu" in this webseries are those who don´t speak Urdu in their daily life. You could recite a comic poem to them in Urdu and they would go "Wah wah!", because they don´t truly understand it. Gone are the days of the taaleem-yaafta loog who used to both read and write shaayari as a hobby when they made movies such as Pakeezah, Umrao Jaan and more. Kudos especially, to the makers of Umrao Jaan, who managed to make a South-hailing actress such as Rekha ji speak such clear Urdu.
Today, all these actors think that dressing like their character in promotions brings some sort of authenticity, while they blabber on in Desi English. Rooz-marra ki zindagi mein Urdu boole geyn toh barre parde pe dialogue boolna naa mushkil aur naa hi "forced" lage ga.
When seeing such projects, honestly...I cannot fathom how the makers cannot see these issues. Or can they, and just ignore it because the majority of the audience truly isn´t competent enough to notice? Watch the professional Kathak dancers as well...they are making the actresses look rubbish. Woh loog apne funn ke maahir hain, to agar actors mehnat nahin kare geyn toh bilkull bhi nahi kaamyaab hongen. All the actresses except for Sanjeeda did not dance convincingly like a Tawaif. They should´ve taken Kathak classes for at least a year in preparation! Woh safaai aur zara precision hi aa jaata movements mein.
I remember watching "Mohe rang do laal", and how my eyes kept going to the background dancers instead of the heroine. She looked STIFF, nervous and like a statue compared to the true Kathak-dancers and their effortless flow in the background. Really, nobody should make such songs unless they have an actress of the competence of Madhuri ji, who can keep up with the background dancers.

I get that u liked her but you can't help but notice how her facial expressions NEVER change like never!! And it's gets frustrating cause you want to connect to the character but u just can't because of her acting!!! I don't get the reason to drag the other actresses here . The actress who played alam is just bad plain bad no reason needed.

There is no such word as "alfazon". The word is "lafz" and the plural is "alfaz".

no matter what they do, some of them can't pronounce Urdu words.
She didn´t even pronounce the basic words of ishq, seaahi, taqdeer and khwaab the proper way. It was the same embarrassment in Jodhaa Akbar and Baajirao, in which the supposed Mughal baadshah couldn´t even pronounce Khan the correct way! Tauba astaghfaar...yeh loog saara zoor libaas, sets aur mouseeqi pe daalte hain. Zubaan aur talaffuz par to koi dehaan hi nahin deta. Lekin jin loogon liye yeh banaate hain, unn ki samajh itni mehdood hai ke woh iss hi ko dekh kar wah wah kar rahe hain. You could literally recite a comic Urdu poem for them, and they would go "Wah wah!" because they really do not understand Urdu.

Khwaab, seaahi, taqdeer and ishq. Basic words of Urdu mispronounced. Do they not hire language coaches for such huge projects to at least try to make it correct and authentic? Is aesthetics, clothes and filters everything? The black and white era of Bollywood used to work so hard on language. No matter what background the singer had, they made sure that the shaaeri was recited like a pro.
