Just a tip, try to put spme tipes of grouping tetra and corys in the acquarium and you'll notice that your kribensis will fell much more at home and they'll begin to explore the acquarium and they won't be as shy as yours
I just bought some kribs to try something a lil different. I breed Malawi peacocks, mainly OB's. Been wanting to try something different, and I've never owned kribs so thought that'll work. Great video and I subscribed.
Some rams can be tough. I've been successful with Bolivian rams, but I've tried gbr's and gold rams (same fish, different color) three different times, and I've lost them all within a month of getting them from internal parasites, despite treating them with general cure as well as expel p. I'm looking into giving these a try as well now.
Howsit bud. Nut here from South Africa. I have a breeding pair of Kribensis cichlids in one of my tanks. I was just wondering can i keep anything with them? Dither fish, cleaner fish etc?
Hello, I have 2 females in a 20 gallon tank. I want to add a male so they breed. Are 2 females and a male going to have aggression issues? Should I remove one of the females?
Hey, I’m thinking about getting some Kribs but just had one question I can’t seem to find an answer to... being as keeping a breeding pair in a tank can be cause for some aggression in a community tank, do you think it would work to put several of the same gender in and be able to avoid the aggression? I really want to get a couple of these guys but not really interested in the breeding aspect or looking to add aggression to my tank, but thank you for the video it’s very helpful!
Once the Fry’s are free swimmers should I remove the frys into a separate tank or would they be okay in the tank with the parents? My Kribs had their first batch of eggs hatch last night and now I have fry’s. I’m wondering if I should move them once the parents are done raising them. I can imagine they will be still pretty young and done want them harassed.
i have made a new discovery if the krib babies go off and explore they swallow them then they spit them out at the location that they live and only the mom protects them
KeepingFishSimple thanks so much! sorry if it ends up a mile long! Lol I have a 40 gallon with 5 Kribensis 1 adult male, 2 adult females, which the male and a female have spawned and have had babies that are 2 weeks old, they both are amazing with each other and there only 2 fry, I do also have 2 young adults I think they are females, the other adult female is very fat and her belly is very red, looks like she’s ready to have her eggs, I added another cave because she’s showing interest in the male that already has spawned with the other female, my question is will he spawn with her even though he’s taking care of fry already with another female? The male is very aggressive towards the 2 young adults, I’m actually in the process of moving them into my 60 gallon community tank for there safety, The male and the female that’s ready to spawn I have seen them go into a cave together briefly and she does a shiver dance for him, but I’m thinking maybe I should pull the male and female out and put them in there own tank to spawn, can you give me some advice on what to do?
I know this is a shot in the dark, being a 6 month old vid... but its the latest one out on youtube lol. I want to get 4 kribs for my 37g tank. The guy im buying from wants me to take 1 male, and 3 females. He says thats the best way to go about breeding them. I'm feeling inclined to trust his instincts but I want to some others to chime in on this as well. What do you think?
Have this pair over 8-9 months no eggs no fry. Any advise guys. 20Ltank, Water Temp 80F, clean water PH dont know (just order test kit )with sponge filter. Few zebras and a platy, plenty of caves, plants sand substrate. I'm really hopeless. 😔 hobby is not fun anymore frustrating.
My malawi pair laid egg and the egg didnt hatch then they laid egg again The male killed the female i was at work i came back i saw him bitting her and she dead after i put her in diffrent aquarium the Eggs Hatched the dad got karma and raised them and Then i gave him away to our neighbor and I keept the fries beacuse he was very aggresive now im trying to breed other fish
Basic info, with a few errors. Such as, "They're found in West African lakes..." No... 🤦🏻♂️ Pelvicachromis spp. are almost exclusively riverine species; most abound in shallow, shaded forest streams where the water is pretty swift & cooler (~24°C). How do I know? I've collected wild kribs in Douala, Cameroon before. There are no lakes there, I can tell you that. Just thickets of jungle & tea-stained streams.
Thank you for this video. A bit of advice, slow down Your talking as you go so fast at times that you slur your words. Also, try to wing what your saying instead of reading a script. People are more attracted to natural speaking. I won’t be subscribing bc of this. Take care!

Thank you! I wasn't planning on breeding, but my Kribs have babies now. I wasn't sure what to feed them.
Great video, I am thinking of these fish for my new tank. 1 question. How many can you keep together? Males / females. Thanks for you time
Can I keep them with my rum nose tetras
I'm tossing up between a pair of these or rams for a tetra based community tank, leaning towards these... or both, would they all get along?

How would a pair do in a 30g heavy planted tank with 36 neon's? I've been looking for a center piece fish to off set the neon school.
36 neons alone is too much for a 30 gallon tank…
@@OakNuggins heavily planted tanks can accommodate for the bioload of 37 neons
Great info! Love the channel.
Thanks for the Info, I have some and the female's are very colourful
How many liters is that aquarium that you had your kribs in

Did they ever bother your rummynose?
Unfortunately we never tried to breed our pair but the keep doing it, I've ended up with two grow out tanks of them 😖
how frequent should water changes be for a tank
Could 3 Kribs 5 cherry barbs 6 neon tetras and maybe 4-6 mollies live together in a planted 45 tall tank?
Wow thanks soo much!
I've never seen my kribs eat, even with garlic guard, Frozen or prepared. Any recommendations?
what plants have you kept in the tank?
Hi,
Can you do a test if pothos really remove nitrates.
Well, they do, that’s how plants work
Has registered. I'm going to learn about other fish as well. thank you.
Good info.. 😊👍
i have made a new discovery if the krib babies go off and explore they swallow them then they spit them out at the location that they live and only the mom protects them

He probably will spawn but if you put him in another tank he will breed better

Prob is the best, most kribs will mate in pairs and sometimes for life but every now and then a male will take multiple mates and ‘sister wives’ it
so they dont uproot plants?
They can but they don’t tend to
have any raw fish?
Oh yeah, and def gonna hit that subscribe 👍🏼
Quite aggressive in a community tank? They are a pain in the #ss once they start to breed
Wow, I forgot how different your videos were. Still good but very different

I would put just a pair in a tank, I had one killed all my other fish. Very hardy pretty fish but be careful if you have other species.
How big was the tank?
@@WealthyDragonMindset It was 4 feet long, with lots of hiding places. He was a juvenile but very aggressive, maybe I was just unlucky.
Jimmy Nich Jeez 4 feet and still aggressive
What is your ph
I wish bettas were this easy :/
My male killed my female! Help!
But one has a very bad anger issue lol
I got two of these fish and within 2 days killed 2 of my guppies 👎
Yes, pairs will do that.
Lol
uh
