I tried this with a thinner yarn, and it got streched out sooo much when I put on the final product, that it ended up being about 2 inches too big around the under bust area. I guess this is why you always follow a pattern using the same type of yarn :P But I will try it again and make up some adjustments as I go. Perhaps I will tie it in the back or somehting. Very easy tutorial to follow, very clear instructions (even though I didn't follow them hahaha :) ), straight to the point. Thank you for this :)
your top is beautiful! i am a bit more top heavy so it took me a couple tries to figure out how to make the cups bigger but in the end it turned out excellent!
Sorry for asking such a stupid question - but why is the line where you connected your first single crochet row diagonal after adding a few more rows? 3:38
It's not a stupid question. If i'm understanding the question you're talking about the cups right? They're diagonal cause we decreased at the ends to form a triangle. 😊
T CD thanks for the answer! But I meant the part underneath the cups. You connected the single crochet row at the beginning to form a circle - if you understand what i am talking about. At 3:38 it looks like the part underneath the cups has a diagonal line at the back were you connected the straps in the end. And I‘m confused why that happened.
@@meowchinegun5289 Got it, got it! It's diagonal cause I was single crocheting into the chain space and skipping the first stitch into the next row. This was an older video so my seams weren't as clean as they are now. 😬

SO sorry for the late reply. I decided to go through and reply to all comments so here we are. 😅 You're too sweet. Thank you so much for the kind words! What pieces have you made?
This is a great video but I am having some difficulty trying to make the first band under the bust straight. The area where we would connect for each row makes this arrow pointing down, its not straight like yours and I was wondering if I was doing something wrong.
Hmm, sounds like there might be some accidental increasing happening? I'd say to count the amount of double crochet's you have for each row and make sure it's the same for every row. 😊
Hi I love this top and I've been looking for ways to make crochet tops with a solid back and this was so helpful! I had an issue with the cups though, I did exactly what you did, finding the middle point and creating the cups from there but they were WAY too small. I'm a C cup and they ended up being about a B cup. do you have any tips on how to make the cups fit better?
Searching, but can’t find how much yarn this project takes. It’s so cute, I’d hate to get halfway through and run out of yarn. Do you have an estimate for the size you made?
I love your creativity your patterns are always at the style are you explain your tutorials step by step I would also like to ask what cotton yarn do you use what brand and where would I be able to find it
I'm having trouble with keeping the entire loop consistent for the first piece you show how to make. When you get to the end of your first row of single crochets, are you making a slip knot before you single chain and then continue with the next row?
Hi! so sorry for the late reply. We've been kind swamped. But yes, when finishing your single crochet rows you slip stitch into the end that you started into and then chain 1 to work your way up to the next row so that that row can be completed. 😊 Hope that helps!

Hi! Loved your video! My problem was that the part in the torso should be tight to give support, but the problem is that it hardly passes the shoulders, and I didn´t want it to be too loose. Do you have any advice? Thank you!
ruclips.net/video/9P50DQifCLw/видео.html We uploaded another bralette with a similar look, but this band has more stretch to it. You can try this band with this top and that should help out. 😊
yes we do. We use a cat 3 sometimes and have been talking about getting into some thread as we just haven't taken the pledge yet. Each of our tutorials uses a made to measure technique so you can use any tools you'd like as long as you keep up with the measurements. 💞😊
Love the top, I'm having an issue though, the right sides of each cup is flaring outwards, and the left sides are nicely flaring inwards towards my body. How do I adjust for this? I've had to unravel the cups 2 times now. Do you alternate which way you flip the top when you complete a row?
Good video. Thank you. But, I think I'd prefer to make the bottom cuff first and SC up from there. Then there wouldn't be any gaps. Do you foresee any problems with that order?
Thank you! No that's how we've made other bralette's on the channel since this one. Here is an example if you'd like it see it. ruclips.net/video/9P50DQifCLw/видео.html
Whenever you were making the 2-inch single crochet that fit right under your bust in the beginning, how did you connect the single crochet once you worked your way around the whole entire chain? I experienced my top getting bigger as I went up so I looked up videos and many people connected each row with a slip stitch. I started to crochet my own top and then got more confused about which stitch I would slip stitch into. For example, if I made a chain of 120, would I single crochet 120 and then slip stitch into the last stitch or would I single crochet 119 and then slip stitch into the 120th?
Hmm, you're more than welcome to send us a message on Instagram with photos if that helps, but whenever we start up another row we do a CH 1 first. I slip stitch into that CH 1 space so that our numbers for the row stay the same. Hope that helps! ❤
Ok I grew up crocheting and I’ve just recently picked it up again and I really really want to make this but I’m having trouble with the fit of it, like how am I supposed to fit it over my shoulders to put it on? I probably sound super stupid but I could genuinely use some advice
If this top is made snug it can give you some trouble. I had that issue with the first one I made so don't feel bad for asking. 😊 I just mad sure the chain had enough give to it so it could fit over my shoulders. May be tricky, but it's doable. I did have to shimmy into this one too though. Something that may help is using a different band, but keeping the same body portion. We just recently uploaded a cable stitch bralette that may help you out. 😊
@@TCDDIY im having the same issue, but once its on the band seems too big. Idk how to make one that fits and is easy to take on and off. any advice? I made it with cotton yarn weight 4 as well
This is Caron One Pound in Lace 😊 If you wanted to make it for the beach i'd recommend to make it in a cotton yarn cause it doesn't absorb as much water.
I am looking to start crocheting, but im am nkt really sure about how much yarn I should purchase of each color I want. For a typical project like this, how much yarn would you use or how much do you recommend I buy?
What does the back look like both on the body and on the table? You never showed it... I have purchased a few of your patterns which I find very thorough.
For the beginning rows, why do you chain one after row if you aren't slip stitching to finish each row? For me, it is distorting the band because it is causing an uneven increase where I increase each row.
I'm doing the same one but with a 3,5 mm hook, so for the cups do I have to decrease in each as well or better every two rows, for example? Thank you!!
All of your odd number rows you're going to put 1 single crochet into every stitch. Every even number row you're going to decrease on the ends until you get a full triangle. 😊
@@TCDDIY from what I've observed in your video in the first row, decrease then sc until the last 2 chains then decrease again in the 2nd row, sc the entire row and so on and so forth i also notice that you didn't add one chain after finishing a row and immediately flipped it over to work on the next row i did exactly what u showed in the video but the bra cup was nowhere near my size and it only covers my nips 😂 what am I doing wrong here?
Hey, I have a question, if I use a cotton yarn which is not so stretchable, how many chains do I have to do in the beginning? Does it have to be tight or loose? Because I feel like if it is too tight I won't be able to fit into the top!
Hmmm, Unfortunately i'm not sure. Everyone's crochet style is different that's why I wasn't giving CH counts at this time. I'd recommend making a CH that is wide enough to wrap around the widest part of your bust and work from there. If you have boobs that would make the back pieces too small for you so from there make an invisible drawstring along the top if the back section to make sure it is fitted. 😁 Hope that helps!
Thank you for answering! :) You're channel is great!! I'll try again with a more stretchable yarn so that if I mess up with the measurements it won't be too bad
So the band under the cups of single crochet, could you do that as a rectangle and seam it together to a round? I'm having a big problem finding which stitches to slip stitch/single crochet into on the first and end of the rounds. It looks like that would work but I just wanted to double check!
SO sorry for the late reply. I decided to go through and reply to all comments so here we are. 😅 Ally, we kept going. 😂❤ Nearly a year later and we're still kicking. Thank yo for the kind words and support. It means the world.
I've tried to make the first part of sc 4 times and no matter what I do it ends up twisting somehow! not sure what I'm doing wrong but trying to figure it out, love this tutorial🤍
This is a different approach especially for "busty" girls i have a problem with the fitting below the breast its actually the most important factor. With eladtic yarn hopr i can achieve this. Thanks!
Hmm, it does that sometimes. It typically happens because when the chain is connected it's twisted, but here is a trick you can use to make sure it's not. 😊 The tip is within the collar of this other video. ruclips.net/video/eWguO2g5XFA/видео.html Hope it helps!
I'm not 100% sure since this is an older video, I don't even remember how many yards I used for my own size. 😅 If I had to guess maybeeeeeee 500 yards? 😬
I loved this tutorial! Thank you! I just finished my top, and the torso fits great but the cups are a little too small for my bust so I’m going to make another. How would you recommend making the cups bigger without making the underbust bigger too? Thanks again!!
same here! I just took the bra part apart and will be adding on to the original 2 inch band and probably make it to 5 inches, and then decrease every 2 or 3 rows. I was being too humble with my bra size lol
measure the width of your boob and make the base of the cup the same (if not a few stitches) longer than that measurement and continue with the pattern from there. 😊
Where do you buy the dk weight cotton yarn that you've used for tutorials? It's beautiful and looked like a significant amount on a sweater you made. ❤️❤️
For the bottom part, what do you mean when you say “go into the next three loops with more slip stchs”? You mean skip two loops and go in the third one? 🙈 thaaaaaank you!!!!
I think there is a caption that pops up that says 2 somewhere in the video, but when you're working your doubles towards the base count the next 2 available stitches in the back and slip stitch into the 2nd stitch and how to work your way up to the next row you slip stitch into the next 2 flip your work and make your way back down with more back loop doubles. 😁 Hope that helps!!!!!
Thank you! 🥰🥰 Hmm, if you want you can send me a picture of your work on instagram (@TCDDIY) and I should be able to help you out. I usually reply quick. 😁
Omg me too, I am struggling with the same thing. My chains looks like they are just continuing and not like separate rows. I don’t know what I am doing wrong. Ive tried restarting several times. I don’t notice it until I am on the second or third row.
thank you so much for this tutorial !! i love the fact that i could very easily adapt it to my body shape i've been looking for tutorials like this for ages ! but the borders of my cups where the decreases are keep rolling on themselves (idk how to say this in english haha sry) would you happen to know why they can't stay flat ?
i have tried to make this 5 times now and the cups just never turn out right, they are just too small bc of the decreasing every row... i don't know what to do anymore 😩
If you want you can try decreasing into every other row it'll elongate it, but keep the cups from cutting in too fast and i'd also suggest to make the base of the cups wider as well if you're larger than I am!
@@yanice2248 yes the size is to fit me, but we show how to measure for other sizes within the videos as well. More so the newer videos, but we tried for the older ones. 🙈 I'm between an XS and S

I have a question: If my yarn doesn't really stretch, it's better if I don't connect the under bust and put a button or something like that?
We haven't done that before so I can't for sure say, but yeah, I think that could work well!
@@TCDDIY it's okay then, tysm ♡
Love the top, I'm having an issue though, the right sides of each cup is flaring outwards, and the left sides are nicely flaring inwards towards my body. How do I adjust for this? I've had to unravel the cups 2 times now. Do you alternate which way you flip the top when you complete a row?
I have the same problem
Hmmm, are you decreasing into both ends of the same row? (sooooo sorry for the late reply. We've been pretty swamped 😑)
Thanks for explaining it was so easy to follow along
awesome!!!! Glad we can help! 😊😊
I have a question
Can I use this for when I am at home?
Like if I want to crochet bras can I just use this for like an everyday thing.
Of course! That's what I do. 😊
Good video.
T CD thank you so much!!
@@TCDDIY im having the same issue, but once its on the band seems too big. Idk how to make one that fits and is easy to take on and off. any advice? I made it with cotton yarn weight 4 as well
Hiii, what type of yarn did u use in making this?? And I also wanna ask if I could use this bralette at the beach and pool. Thanksss
This is Caron One Pound in Lace 😊 If you wanted to make it for the beach i'd recommend to make it in a cotton yarn cause it doesn't absorb as much water.
@@TCDDIY thank you vv much❤️
That yarnnnn 😍😍
😁😁 Thanks, love!
Hiii, I have some question. Please help me. What kind of wool do you use to crochet? And what is the size of the crochet needle? Many thanks~
Hi! This is caron one pound yarn in the color lave & it's a 5 mm hook. All the tools should be within the description as well. 😊
I am looking to start crocheting, but im am nkt really sure about how much yarn I should purchase of each color I want. For a typical project like this, how much yarn would you use or how much do you recommend I buy?
This is an older project so I'm not sure how much yarn but if I had to guess maybe 200 yards? 😬
Simple and lovely... Thank u so much
Thank you, thank you!
Luv ur voice!
Ahhh, so kind of you to say, thank you!
the bottom part with the double crochet flares out, how did you get your to go inward?
If you can send me a photo on Instagram I might be able to better help. 😊
What does the back look like both on the body and on the table? You never showed it... I have purchased a few of your patterns which I find very thorough.
Thank you for the purchases! This was a really old video so unfortunately we don't have anymore photos, but hoping to redo something like this soon!
I had to redo the cup part 5 times because I kept doing it wrong, I kept forgetting to chain one every beginning of a row lol but I finally got it! 😄
lmao same i completely forgotten that i have to chain one i kept wondering whats wrong untill i saw ur comment and im like OHHHHHHH🤣😭
Yaaaaay! Glad we got it down together! 😂💕
Yes, community!! 😁
For the beginning rows, why do you chain one after row if you aren't slip stitching to finish each row? For me, it is distorting the band because it is causing an uneven increase where I increase each row.
The Chain 1 is to star the next row, it doesn't count as a stitch. You should have the same amount of stitches for reach row. 😊
I'm doing the same one but with a 3,5 mm hook, so for the cups do I have to decrease in each as well or better every two rows, for example? Thank you!!
You can do every two rows to make sure it doesn't decrease too much 😊
Hey I am having trouble with the cups I'm a little confused about the every other decrease
All of your odd number rows you're going to put 1 single crochet into every stitch. Every even number row you're going to decrease on the ends until you get a full triangle. 😊
@@TCDDIY
from what I've observed in your video
in the first row, decrease then sc until the last 2 chains then decrease again
in the 2nd row, sc the entire row
and so on and so forth
i also notice that you didn't add one chain after finishing a row and immediately flipped it over to work on the next row
i did exactly what u showed in the video but the bra cup was nowhere near my size and it only covers my nips 😂
what am I doing wrong here?
I just lovvvveeee this how i wish can wear make it and wear it
Thanks! 😁💕
Same here, but in India it's difficult to find worsted weight yarn 😭 im crocheting a scarf using 2 yarn strands still taking me forever to complete it
Hey, I have a question, if I use a cotton yarn which is not so stretchable, how many chains do I have to do in the beginning?
When you cut it, do you just leave it like that or tie it or something because i feel like it would all unravel
We make a tight knot weave in the ends for sure. 😊
So the band under the cups of single crochet, could you do that as a rectangle and seam it together to a round? I'm having a big problem finding which stitches to slip stitch/single crochet into on the first and end of the rounds. It looks like that would work but I just wanted to double check!
So sorry for the late reply, it's been kinda a mad house over here the last few days. 😬 but yes! That can definitely work as well. 😊
i love your videos, all these tutorials are amazing thank you so much for sharing and please keep going 💛🍀☀️
SO sorry for the late reply. I decided to go through and reply to all comments so here we are. 😅
Ally, we kept going.
Thanks so much!!! if you're saying it doesn't lay down flat against a table that's perfectly fine! That happens! 😊
*As Soon As She Started Talking I Was Like "Yes"*
🤣🤣🤣 Thank you!!
Wish I could hold the yarn and hook like you do. I could never get the hang of that x
Why my way? 😊
I've been told that I hold my work/hook "wrong" before, but as long as it works for you it works for YOU IMO. 💕
Is it okay if i decrease on every row instead of every other row? The triangle always ends up too big
for sure! 😊
This is a different approach especially for "busty" girls i have a problem with the fitting below the breast its actually the most important factor. With eladtic yarn hopr i can achieve this. Thanks!
This was a super old video so I was still learning proper crochet techniques myself, but that's awesome that you're able to make it work. Thanks!!! 😊
So cute and easy!
Thank you! 😊
question: how do you get it on and off? I have a bigger cup size, and i'm scared it won't fit
I had to shimmy it on and off. 😅 We do have an updated tutorial that may help more though! Here's the link: ruclips.net/video/Sooi1Fu3fuk/видео.html
@@TCDDIYthank you!!
Why my first role is always twisting? I kept trying for several times already but still twisting. :(
Hmm, it does that sometimes. It typically happens because when the chain is connected it's twisted, but here is a trick you can use to make sure it's not. 😊 The tip is within the collar of this other video. ruclips.net/video/eWguO2g5XFA/видео.html Hope it helps!
@@TCDDIY Thank you so much for the tip. 😇
ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS. Btw what kind of yarn are you using tho it looks very neat and not frizzy lol
Thank you! This is Caron One Pound in Lace. 😊
So confused after finishing row 1, should i slip stitch before chaining 1?
Yes, slip stich to close the row, Chain 1 to start the next row. 😁
Hi! How much yarn do you think I need for an XL-sized bralette? Thank you! :) Nice work!
I'm not 100% sure since this is an older video, I don't even remember how many yards I used for my own size. 😅 If I had to guess maybeeeeeee 500 yards? 😬
@@TCDDIY Thank you for replying!! I hope you're safe and well. :)
@@janssenfayecuenca181 Of course! Wishing the same to you and your loved ones!
I loved this tutorial! Thank you! I just finished my top, and the torso fits great but the cups are a little too small for my bust so I’m going to make another. How would you recommend making the cups bigger without making the underbust bigger too? Thanks again!!
I'm facing the same problem too!
Glad it was helpful! You can start the base of the cups out further and then decrease into every other or every 3rd row. 😁
You can try starting the base of the cups out further and decrease into every other row or every 3rd row. ☺
same here! I just took the bra part apart and will be adding on to the original 2 inch band and probably make it to 5 inches, and then decrease every 2 or 3 rows. I was being too humble with my bra size lol
Wawoo ...wanna make it..😍😍😍
Please do!!!
how do you measure the part after the under bust like the cups itself
measure the width of your boob and make the base of the cup the same (if not a few stitches) longer than that measurement and continue with the pattern from there. 😊
Where do you buy the dk weight cotton yarn that you've used for tutorials? It's beautiful and looked like a significant amount on a sweater you made. ❤️❤️
They're all typically linked in the description, but you can also find them in any large craft store like Joanns, Michaels, or even Walmart. 😊
T CD got it! Thank you so much
May I know how many grams of yarn did you consume in making this bralette? Thank you!
This is an older video so i'm unsure of the grams, but i'd roughly say 150 yards. 😊
Bloody easy ay love it!!
🤩🤩🤩 That's awesome Thank you!!!!
Hi!! I love this video and your entire channel
Gracias, lo hice me salió lindo, muy buena explicacion. Bendiciones 🎉
Muchas gracias por las amables palabras!! muy apreciado!
thank you so much for this tutorial !! i love the fact that i could very easily adapt it to my body shape i've been looking for tutorials like this for ages ! but the borders of my cups where the decreases are keep rolling on themselves (idk how to say this in english haha sry) would you happen to know why they can't stay flat ?
Awesome! Glad we can help! Hmm, Im not sure why it would roll, it does curl a little bit, but shouldn't be too noticeable.
Adorei !!!! Vc colocou legenda em português. Adoro seu trabalhos , agora da pra fazer .
obrigado por notar! Fico feliz que você goste e que isso ajude!
i have tried to make this 5 times now and the cups just never turn out right, they are just too small bc of the decreasing every row... i don't know what to do anymore 😩
If you want you can try decreasing into every other row it'll elongate it, but keep the cups from cutting in too fast and i'd also suggest to make the base of the cups wider as well if you're larger than I am!
Do you chain 1 at the start of each decrease row?
Correct! That's just the turning Chain. 😊✨
Hi for reference what size cups are you? I’m 32 B so just want to know how close my cups would be to yours if i followed this closely
We are one in the same. 😁
T CD great 😊
T CD Do you fit all of your stuff in your videos to your size? What size would that be? I’m an XS
@@yanice2248 yes the size is to fit me, but we show how to measure for other sizes within the videos as well. More so the newer videos, but we tried for the older ones. 🙈 I'm between an XS and S
