I did a lot of cut and come again over the years. I am now experimenting with EZ cut lettuce in 6 inch pots. I am finding that one or two plants will fill a bowl full of lettuce. Cut at the soil to harvest the whole head as one pc. Cut a couple of inches up and the lettuce is separate leaves like cut and come again. So it makes harvesting a faster process. And it will grow back if you cut it a few inches up. And the lettuce is beautiful and full of body.
What a lovely gem of a channel. Straightforward advice and demonstrations, which is just what someone refunding their gardening feet needs. Well done, sir.
That's an interesting way of growing lettuce indoors. I've been growing it as separate plants - about 4 plants in a planter box. And I harvest the outside leaves. Your planting method is much denser than my approach and it looks productive. Perhaps I'll give it a try this year.
Thanks for posting. I started my first tray last weekend. I forgot when you said you added some water to the bottom. I added some on day one. Hopefully this will still be ok.

I use ocean solutions. To see it you can go to homemicrogreens dot com /ocean my last post on Home Microgreens shows the results using OS. Amazing results using it on microgreens and hemp mat. Even though the results were less dramatic with soil in the short term, once the nutrients are used up in the soil the Ocean Solution will do wonders! The post is homemicrogreens.com/liquid-organic-fertilizer
Can you use this same process to start any vegetable/fruit plant in your home before setting outside, if so, what steps of the process would be different? Thanks
That really depends on the vegetable. For the most part, vegetables should be started in smaller cells with much fewer seeds. Some, like celery, can be started this way and then pricked out. But no way would you need that many. The video is more about growing greens inside.
🐛 FINALLY, show me how vid without all the techno talk , gadgets , yield 👍 just want a bowl of non toxic salad in December. Show us spinach 😍 keep it simple will keep us coming back, thnx

I like your hiking blog on your website. This video of growing lettuce is great. Thank you. Where did you get the green tub that you put the 10x20 trays in? I looked at the links for gardening equipment and couldn't find it. Thanks.

Hi, I wonder what is the planting media you have been using to grow lettuce? I noticed that it looks like you added the vermicelli to the coco coir. Is this right?
Yes, I use my own mix. It had coir, perlite, a bit of peat, and nutrient additives. Lettuce takes almost a month and pure coir or peat doesn’t have enough nutrients. Some almost always need to be added.
