- On The Road! Yep! Back again! In this one we tick off a new country in Ireland! A quick visit see's me check out what Cork City has to offer and it's left me wondering, could the Irish football atmosphere be better than the English?

Thanks smiv for covering Irish football . Unfortunately most people here support English teams and don’t follow our own league even the main tv broadcaster here only shows a few games a year but these videos help grow the league and encourage people to get off their sofa and support their local clubs . Your welcome back anytime to Ireland and would highly recommend the Dublin derby beetween shamrock rovers and bohemians.

Can hardly blame people for supporting English leauges when we dont even have a TV deal, which is great for the locals to them because a Shamrock Rovers season ticket is only 20 quid but to watch a game its literally impossible
@@itistempest it’s not a one or the other you can support an Irish team and English team like most league of Ireland fans do but with RTE rarely showing a league of Ireland game it’s very hard for the league to grow
@@itistempest to add to this, most places don't have a local team to support. Each county has a GAA teams but not a local LOI team
Same in Northern Ireland which is a shame because there is so much potential in both leagues.
my late grandad was one of the founders of this club and to see it get the recognition we deserve especially after a tough period means the world thank you smiv 💚

Honestly this was a top quality atmosphere, you love to see it, and most of the crowd looked like young lads too which suggests a brighter future for Irish football. Maybe it was just the older generation that neglected Irish football and supported English teams instead and the current generation are about to revive it?

I haven't lived in Ireland for 11 years and haven't been back to Turner's Cross in all that time. This genuinely brought a tear to the eye. Fair play lad for making it over and delighted you picked the best team in the country to go and watch!
I love Ireland and the Irish people so much! Their love for beer is unrivalled, my sister (who doesn't like alcoholic beverages) got a lovely talking-to by two 80 years old gentlemen because she was drinking water while eating in a pub in Killarney...
But, for a non-native english speaker, understanding what Ryan said at 2:49 is a pretty tough challenge 😂

@@smivadee If you want a full Stadium go see Cork City vs Cobh Ramblers on the 24th of June, or Cork City away against Cobh Ramblers on the 22nd of May. hopefully Cork city go up and Cobh are relegated
Always welcome back smiv bud🇮🇪🤝 our attendance was our lowest all year as the match was clashing with the Munster rugby game which definitely took a bit off the usual atmosphere. Thank you for promoting our league ☘️

Cork City FC have the best fans in World Football! I saw a game at Turner's Cross back in 2018 while I was studying abroad in Ireland. Even with the traveling expenses factored in, the game was still a bargin! The city of Cork is a hidden gem, and it is 1,000% better than Dublin! If anyone who reads the comment ever gets the chance to go to Cork I would urge you to take it. Absolutely amazing city.

Nice to see a video from Ireland. I liked it. Was surprised to learn that Cork City are now only in the second tier, and for the second season running at that.

Think I may have found a second team for the first time in my life. My beloved Charlton will always be first, but more than happy for Cork City to take that second spot. Looks a brilliant experience and the Irish folk are so welcoming.

Off to see shamrock rovers v shels in 3 weeks. Been to Cork 3 times to watch my team birmingham ( twice) and when I was working in Cork vs Stoke. Fans are mad and drummer don't stop all game
Discovered this channel two weeks ago, been binging the whole thing until catching up today. Absolutely love it! I have now visited a local non-league match, rediscovered why I absolutely loathe Dr Pepper and nearly caused a traffic incident because I accidentally drove on the left......Keep it up, Smiv!

I'd say LOI Premier would be on par with mid table League 1. Especially with the amount of young players being snapped up by clubs at that level & above. First Division, depends on the teams but League 2 to mid table Conference.

Very good video,,iv been going to the Cross for years...city will get back to the top again no doubt I can just about remember city vs bayern Munich 1991 (eufa Cup 1st round) 1-1 stefan effenberg scored for bayern...City is a great club and fantastic supporters

Wanted to attend a Bohs match in May but for what I originally was going to Ireland went sour due to unforeseen circumstances (and the vacation money got spent elsewhere needed).
Certainly will try again next year, and would also like to add a GAA game for good measure.
Smiv you HAVE to do 'The Eternal derby' (Red Star vs Partizan) one day.. Hostile but a crazy experience you'll never forget!
If your other camera takes ages to come back through the lost and found process, make sure to add a 'where's my old camera now' section to the OTR until it turns up. For 1 to give the airline a bollocking for their stupid policy & 2 to add ever increasingly far fetched tongue in cheek 'guesses' as to where it is.
Game looked class though and the content for the episode still did it justice.

7:15 cork city would be lower league 2, higher 5th tier at the moment because they aren’t great, but on the other hand, teams in the top division of irish football like shamrock rovers, dundalk, derry city would be higher league 1
Shamrock rovers etc would probably be Championship not league 1.
Rovers and Dundalk are good sides.

Smiv you should go to Fc Isle Of Man if you can they are a newly started team in the 7th tier only using players from a little country called the Isle Of Man. Would be class to see a big name like you turn up to one of the matches if possible
I've just started supporting Cork City as I live here. In fairness, there is a great community buzz about Turners Cross. As a United fan I am disappointed with Old Trafford these days. Not just the football, the crowd, the local lads are just not there anymore and Turners Cross has a better atmosphere. A Great City for sure. Thanks for the exposure Smiv. I supported Chester for some time in the 80s, but Cork has more passionate support. Cork City is fan owned.
Lots of people say the Irish prefer GAA / Hurling and want to distance themselves from football as much as possible but this was class from Cork, fair play
sam gardiner Its very regional though generally the top half and the west its mainly gaelic football,the southern half is mainly hurling ,Dublin and few other cities and garrison towns is mainly football and then you have limerick city and south county dublin more into rugby.Cork city is mixed all 4 major outdoor codes are popular including football ,but much less so gaelic football though.

Great club Cork City the fans are first class and the city was great craic, went there as a Southampton supporter years ago for a pre-season game in my late teens ,,, Great atmosphere ... Saints got beat too

The top teams in the premier would be league 1 level surely you’re forgetting irish clubs have qualified for europa league recently and are producing quality young players

You've a good few teams to choose from. Bohs, Shamrock Rovers, St Pat's, Shelbourne. Don't go to UCD

@@Jayden_daRocket The majority of tickets are delegated to season ticket holders. Depending on what game it is you can still get some online. Usually you will get tickets against the lower teams if you are not a member
