Great video again, I love the 24 hour concept where you show the town/city first before attending a game. I went to my first Irish game last month and thoroughly enjoyed it so I totally get the buzz. Keep up your great work 😁👍
Cork City aren't exactly the underdogs they'd say they are nor are Galway Both clubs have pushed a bit of a narrative on who'll find it harder to win Galway have probably struggled more but they're a first division side through and through and by no means familiar to the prem like Cork, although they're bidding to change that It's not a story of underdogs its actually more like a Fallen giant coming to reclaim its glory and a rising power trying to earn its place on the big stage
I was there with my two kids that night. It was a brilliant game. Great you covered it. Cork City is a great club, they have an excellence junior academy.
Glad you enjoyed your trip.. Delighted to see RUclipsrs like yourself giving positive reviews of there experience...Since the league is rubbished by so many here and abandoned by the FAI... hopefully you'll be back for top division match's next year can't wait for the likes of Shamrock Rovers and Dundalk then you see an atmosphere😉... unfortunately the quality of game wasn't great on the day..
Thanks for watching! Yeah, Kevin mentioned as we walked around the city that a lot of people over there are pretty uninterested in domestic Irish football and support teams in the UK instead. I said it's a shame that the FAI don't push the league more in general because given the summer league there's a real opportunity there for fans to support both their local Irish team in the summer months and then a team from overseas in the winter. The Friday night kickoffs are great too, I think it makes it easier for a casual fan as you don't even have to sacrifice the middle of a Saturday or Sunday to go. Anyway, I thought it was great and will definitely be back 👍
@@FootballWeekender The league has huge potential unlike lower leagues in England to play in Europe and possibly play in Europa, or conference group stages( champions League a fair bit off yet)... special nights, we are improving St Patrick's beating Mura who beat Spurs, and Sligo comfortably beating Motherwell... Facilities have to be improved outside Tallaght (Shamrock Rovers) and Cork City, the stadiums just aren't good enough... When facilities improve and more revenue comes in, we could attract some better foreign talent to improve the quality on the pitch... Best of luck to Shamrock Rovers, St Pat's, and Sligo also tonight in Europe...
I’m a big fan of the concept of the Europa Conference League. It’d be great for the Irish clubs to do well in that and then hopefully the positive effects will filter down to the domestic league 👍
Galway United are a great team I don't think Cork should blame themselves too much, came away from it with a point when Galway taking 3 could have been just as likely
Get yourself over to #Galway next time lad, a great little Atlantic Coast party town. Lots of great pubs and eateries to enjoy, and you can fly into to Dublin (cheaper)/Shannon or Knock airports. Maybe do a #Connacht Footie double if fixtures work out (Friday & Sunday game) and do #Galway Utd & #Sligo Rovers over a long weekend. This weekend would have been perfect actually, with Galway at home tonight vs Wexford, then Saturday to recover/explore and Sligo playing Bohemians at home on Sunday afternoon...
@@FootballWeekender you'll have a great time in Galway, good bit smaller than Cork but loads of craic always going on and all within easy stumbling distance. Make sure to check out the #GalwayBayBrewery pubs too, some cracking beers..🍻😉👍
Yeah everyone I know who’s been to Galway only has great things to say about it 🙌 I’m looking forward to that trip, sounds like it’ll be a boozy one that 😂🍻
Irish football is in a far better place now. Years back, the stadiums where poor and that entices nobody to go. They are much better now and there's also a lot more families going to games which is vital to the long term success of the league.
Agreed, there finally seems to be some investment in the stadiums and it’s a good family night out - both are really important for the league to succeed.
Thanks Shane 🙏 My main camera is a Sony ZV-1 but I use my iPhone 12 for a few shots here and there. I use an external Røde microphone for the non football bits and just the internal camera mic for inside the stadium. I’ve got a drone too (DJI Mavic Mini), which I wasn’t able to use on this video due to the flight restrictions around Cork, but if you watch the Stockport video I used it quite a bit for that one and got some great stuff 👍
Nice job, I'm half way through the grounds. Did the Cork v Cobh Derby last month but the weather was horrendous for the game. Should be returning soon to do Cobh game.
All this while my club Bray in the same division have completely been ruined by a failure of a merge and turned into the laughing stock of the league 😭😭
Loved hearing about the passionate fans!
Thanks Jane! 😊

Unfortunately Cork City didnt turn up on the night not a great game -still winning it though,Great video
First half wasn’t the best was it 😅 Sending off spoiled the game a bit I think. Great atmosphere though, really enjoyed it.

Been in cork 20 years, shamed to say I've never been to the prison. Must visit
Interesting place and cool to walk around the old buildings & grounds, would definitely recommend a visit 👍
@@FootballWeekender I work in the mercy hospital just down the road from the gaol.. I'm ashamed to admit you have seen more of the city in 24 hrs lol

Sound mate, not sure if my comment loaded, it’s not showing up. It’s Dan from the Wrexham game today. Good to meet you
Good to meet you too pal. Hope I wasn’t too much of a pain in the arse distracting you from all the goals 😂
Wellcome to my county 👍👍👍👍
Great video my friend I would love to visit 💚🙏❤️
Cheers Andy!

The state of the narcissistic clown in the stripes behind him at half time. Couldn't stop focusing on theor appearance once the camera was spotted.
I played there before in a kids cup final
The most English looking Englishman.

Kevin mentioned the Bray merger. Sounds like a strange situation but maybe an interesting one to make a video about! 👀
Come to St patrick's athletic. Simple as
I’ll definitely be back for a St Pats game yeah!
Loved this, nice one
