Elendighet var snudd til optimisme. Det hele kulminerte i en kvalifiseringskamp ingen vil glemme. 6. november 2009 ble FFK slått etter to scoringer av Martin Wiig. 2010 ble Sarpsborg 08 værende i 1. divisjon etter at kvalifiseringsfinalene mot Kongsvinger året før endte med tap. I sesongens første kamp sto FFK på motsatt banehalvdel. Det første serieoppgjøret mellom de to fotballbyene på flere år endte med en knusende 3-0-seier til Sarpsborg 08. Sesongen endte med et suverent opprykk etter den knusende 4-0-seieren mot Alta i siste serierunde på Stadion. Sarpsborg var med det tilbake i det gjeveste selskap fra 2011 - 37 år etter SFK rykket ned fra eliteserien i 1974. Fotballbyen hadde våknet igjen.

This might be a surprice to you but i will give you some completely meaningless information. Fredrikstad needed a new stadium because the old one was run down. If was difficult to find an area, but then it turned out that the abandoned dry docks would fit a field. So the stands at the long sides are from the shipyard.

St. Pats fan here. No surprise here in the the south, most of us were expecting this result. There is a vast difference between the two leagues. Shame really, it will probably mean no all Ireland league anytime soon. I would say only Linfield could compete, maybe one or two others. I happened to be in Göteborg on May 6 during the GAIS - IFK match. It was incredible atmosphere great fans and what a beautiful city! We loved Göteborg and want to go back next year. Great video, greetings from Chicago!
