      possible executions
the fast and murderous: mara is up in the announcer booth with a sniper rifle and jett is on a race track, driving to the finish line as fast as he can to avoid mara's bullets as she snipes the other cars behind him, he drives faster and faster but no matter how fast he goes she remains on his tail when he finally starts to reach the finish line, he get's distracted and mara catches up to him, she shoots a vital part of the car and he skids on the track and ends up flipping over in mid-air over the finish line, while he's in the air, we get a slow-mo shot of his terrified face as he gets vietnam flash-backs of the day of the accident where he got burned horribly it goes back to normal and the car comes back to earth, flipping on the track before crashing into the wall, when mara goes and opens the upside-down car to see if jett is still alive, we find him strapped to the seat upside-down with a crushed skull, having died on impact when the car crashed, to bad he gave his helmet to mark before his execution
bullseye!: desmond is strapped to a spinning target and is spun rapidly as mara fires a barrage of arrows at him, he's spinning so fast you can't even see him, after a bit we see blood flying from the target as it spins, as it slows to a halt, we see a shadowy outline of desmond, still strapped to the target, but with arrows stuck all over his body and the trademark hot pink blood dripping from the spots where the arrows are lodged in
lead in the lipstick: diana is placed in front of a mirror and told to do a very complicated makeup routine and is whipped every time she makes a mistake, she tries her hardest to complete the task but things keep going wrong, she gets her eyeliner wonky because she's shaking from nervousness, she keeps breaking the eyebrow pencil because she's pushing too hard on it, and she keeps messing up her lipstick, but it's not the whip that's killing her, slowly but surely, she starts to feel sick, and eventually dies with her head on the makeup table, having been poisoned by the toxic materials in the makeup

I believe Mara is going to be one of, if not the single most important person in ending the KG. Looking at how Tozu seemingly has clear authority over her, the fact that she is bandaged (showing she sin't immune from the killing game) and the literal target on her back, I think it's really clear that she is someone seen as expandable by Tozu and the MM group. Her mask completely covers her identity, aside from an apple over her eye, showing that the game has consumed her identity, but still, the fact she didn't kill Grace ouitirght (and that fact Tozu hesitates when calling it a warning shot) shows she herself may have reservations about the game, and may possibly resent it as a whole, which would be no surprise considering how shes treated.

Mara means “bitter” and carrying the implication of strength from the bible. Mara was also used as an expression of grief. So a bitter, strong person carrying grief? Could work with some plot twists and sorta works with some fan theory’s
I think Mara killed cara. Cara means friend, darling, loved one. I think Mara killed her because she was BITTER (that’s why so many stab wounds) but she regrets it and is now in GRIEF.
Maybe that trap with the bucket was meant for someone and then cara came in, Mara didn’t want to kill cara but already took the first step and was in danger if she was able to shoot.
I also think this works with the 3 people left theory, she didn't want to kill her friend (or lover or sister) but she did. One could say she wasn't bitter at her but the situation. And with her strength she killed her friend and is now in grief

This would also provide somewhat of a twist, since Wolfgang is hellbent on assuming that Cara’s death was a hate crime committed by a man. Having a woman commit the crime with no (or opposite) passions subverts that expectation

  • @cutekitten955
    @cutekitten955 Год назад +189

I find it so funny and interesting how we play as a character who’s likely to be isolated by the cast because of our (Damian’s) beliefs and outspokenness. Him telling others not to trust so easily and that anyone of them could plausibly commit a murder is such a grounded way of taking in this type of situation. On the other hand, Wolfgang will most likely be well liked because of his more kind belief in others, trusting that they wouldn’t do it for such a simple reason as them sharing the titles of Ultimates. He’s naïve with a sense of justice that most would agree to have, but under such pressure humans are ultimately (lol) faulty creatures.
It sounds eerily familiar with the dynamic between Kaede and kokichi in the first chapter of V3, and kokichi and Kaito from then on. Kokichi straight up tells the others that putting so much faith in people you barely know is a naïve and stupid move. His negative (but realistic under the circumstance) outlook isn’t what the others want to hear. When people are in an unforgiving situation, the last thing they’d want to hear is confirmation that their reality is what’s happening. Nobody wants to live in fear, paranoia, or discomfort so its easier to cope with positive affirmations. That’s why Kaito (and Kaede) posed as such a hero. They offered the nicer glasses to wear. The key to v3 was that both Kokichi and Kaito side of things were both right and wrong, so in the end both are valid in some ways.
Point is, this whole devils advocate versus sweet empty encouragement has already made its place in danganronpa before. The only difference is that we are who we used to perceive as the “antagonist”, at least towards the majority of the members. It’s like seeing the killing game through the usual antagonists eyes.

This isn't a theory so much as an observation. I've already seen people mention that Tozu looks like the Danganronpa gray man underneath his mask but here's another bit of his character design I haven't seen people mention that also feels familiar: the red X of fabric strapped across his chest. To me, it recalls the bloody Xs seen on the crossed-out portraits of the deceased students (of course, with the liberty of it being red instead of pink to fit his color palette). To me, Tozu looks like a physical personification of the Killing Game concept itself, and it's really intriguing to think about how the rest of the game might use that idea.

I'm still wondering how Free Time Events will go in this game considering they'll even be in it. Damon is somewhat the inverse of your typical Danganronpa protagonist, instead of passive and friendly with an inferiority complex and always talking down on himself he's active and cocky with a superiority complex and always talking himself up. In a canon entry he'd fill the same niche as Togami. With how antagonistic he acts towards the group and how little everyone acknowledges and likes him it's hard to see them spend time with one another.

I know the team said they wouldn’t follow Danganronpa tropes, but what if there is an imitation murder where the killer uses the exact same or a similar setup as the prologue murder say in chapter 5 to kill Mara? Just because the method isn't difficult, does not mean the culprit is easier to find. In fact, the more simple the method, the harder it is to find the culprit. For example, if Kiyo in V3 didn't kill Tenko, there wouldn't be any evidence against him. By making things more complicated, each culprit left more evidence against them. So it is possible for the other contestants to find out how she was killed, but couldn't find the actual culprit.

    • @illuminatedjoy24
      @illuminatedjoy24 Год назад +31

I 100% agree with this. There seems to be an issue with some Danganropa culprits, such as Celeste or the third killer in DRA, that they believe a more complex murder will be more difficult to solve. In truth, a simple murder where you cover your tracks is more likely to actually fool people (assuming they don't already have strong reasons to suspect you). DR loves its complicated murder puzzles, though, even if they make the culprits look foolish when you go back and think about it.

Okay so hear me out. I think the Ultimate Ship Captain might be the mastermind.
With all the religious themes, he slips under the radar until you remember Noah's Ark. The idea of finding and cultivating true talent fits this theme. Not to mention the animal themes all characters have, since animals were the ones that were saved. His animal, dragon, is a fantasy one and stands out to me. Dragons are seen as symbols of evil in the bible if I recall correctly. Not to mention that there is an emphasis on characters waking up in pairs, and animals were also saved in pairs. Maybe a stretch but I think It'd be a nice twist to have the buff character as not only a survivor but as the mastermind while still fitting the themes of the story. If there is to be a traitor, I'd guess it would be The Matchmaker due to the pairing. Just some ideas! Can't wait for new chapters.

    • @kiera6326
      @kiera6326 Год назад +5

Another thing is that he’s the only person to wake up with someone of the same gender. Everyone wakes up with somebody of the opposite sex, to represent Adam and Eve. Jean woke up with Desmond, which is a break of that trend. Maybe it implies that he doesn’t actually “fit” in the game with the other contestants, as he’s without a female partner. And well- “Man shall not lie with boy.”

  • @aidanmillow566
    @aidanmillow566 Год назад +32

On the case being relatively simple: the fundamental lie of Danganronpa is that a complicated case is a difficult one. The information that we have doesn't actually take us anywhere near a culprit. If this was the information you had and, for what ever reason everyone was split up (which happens a lot in a killing game), you're not going to be able to figure out the culprit without some serious luck. Both Kiyo and Kirumi would have gotten away with it if they'd just left their victim where they were, and continued about their day.

So I’ll post my theory who she is before watching the video: We can already assume that this isn’t the first killing game (there’s a line about it in the trailer and obviously Cara‘s murder) and I‘d say Cara was the last one to get killed in a scenario where three people were left. This could explain why Cara was walking through the building holding a weapon. Now about Mara: I think she was the one who ended the previous killing game by killing Cara. I also thinking they might be related because their names are so similar and I don’t think this is a coincidence. The murder caused so much grief that she was easily manipulated and joined the current Killing Game as the (new ?) enforcer

Wolfgang seems to let his emotions overcloud his logics despite his title. I like to think that in the end maybe Damon and Wolfgang will have to support each other in the trails, like at some point Damon will have to talk to Wolfgang to start thinking with his head more and vice versa. Maybe the final trail will have to switch between the two to find the real end to the killing game

Few thoughts, I noticed during this video that Mara had cracks in her mask right under her eye, just like Cara could be seen with blood coming out of her eyes to the bleach. I feel like Mara and Cara have to be related somehow as there are so many similarities between the two.
I think its also important to note that throughout the playable map we can see multiple paintings that showcase people with similar masks as to Mara and Tozu. Maybe they could be fellow operators of the killing game or maybe even past masterminds. I think it is a interesting thought that maybe one of the final 2 could be the new mastermind, maybe there would have to be a trade off as one would want to continue the killing game or even one just gets brainwashed to continue it. Maybe if something like this is true then the pictures are other masterminds.
I think we also need to take note of the masks seem to resemble animals as the contestants have animal pins, maybe the people behind the killing game are past participants and the masks they wear are from the pins they had as participants.

I don't know how intentionally this is, but the fact that we have a debater as a protagonist, compliments well with how speeches use Logos, Pathos and maybe even Ethos.
In order to have a successful and persuasive speech that speaks to the audience is to have Logos (Logic|Reason), Pathos (Emotion|Feelings) and Ethos (Credibility|Ethics). I think the Logos and Pathos outcomes should both be normal endings, since Damon potentially can win on his own with Logos where he disregards others' struggles, whereas Pathos can sympathize with others but not directly tackle the problem at hand.
Instead, I think for a true end, it should be a good balance of the two, they can coexist, and potentially the ethos can come in: Damon having the credibility of a leader figure and/or companion where he gives others hope as well as gain their trust, that changing the world is not only Logic or Emotion, but the interaction of both because that's what makes the world spin. (Much like how Damon will learn to see the value in other talents and self reflect on his own talent)
Great video as always Weeby :)

  • @Nanotavailable
    @Nanotavailable Год назад +9

I’ll keep it short and sweet.
Wolfgang is going to be the red-herring first victim, and I have a few reasons for this.
    1. Besides maybe Damian, Cassidy and “Soybean”, Wolfgang has the most dialogue and star shining moments, including the amazing dbh reference. I feel like those characters who didn’t say or do much during the prologue’s trial are pretty safe, since it just seems like a waste to not make the first victim impressionable, especially with such a great opportunity to do so.
    2. Second, I think it would be extremely impactful to the group to immediately lose the character with the most leadership skills. It would be perfect considering he’s the most adamant about a murder not occurring.
    3. Thirdly, if I were a Danganronpa killer, who would I want to target? I’d obviously pick the Ultimate layer over someone like the Ultimate pro gamer, or Influencer. Since I think Wolfgang making his presence so visible during the practice trial has only painted a massive target on his back. It’s just more promising in the long run.
Anyways I love these styles of videos, Weeby, keep up the great work🙏

Hearing you mention Logos and Pathos remind me of one more thing-
Besides those two, there is also Ethos
While Logos is more on clean cut facts and logic, regardless of feelings and emotions, and Pathos is based on emotions and feelings, regardless of logic and facts,
Ethos is based on ethics, traditional social rules and pressures are expected to be followed. This is based on rules and standards that have already been set like morals and laws, regardless of logic and feelings. Basically those that act after bending to morals and public opinion etc.
Pathos, logos and ethos can work together but it clashes with each other more.
As how I see it, Damon is logos which is ironic since he's a debater and debaters are known for being passionate people who argues for the sake of their passion and feelings towards the topic they're debating in. Damon is rational, logical, statistical who somewhat relies on proof and credible sources. Often, we see Damon speak up last in any kind of large-scale conversation as if he was trying to assess everyone's reactions and words before inputting his own thoughts. He's capable of persuading other people based on "common sense" and facts- the message
As for Wolfgang, he is Pathos which is also ironic since he's a lawyer and lawyers are known for being logical in court who argues for their clients' sake. They have to give straight facts and are not supposed to have their feelings get in the way of their job. Wolfgang could possibly be an Ethos, but he doesn't follow the rules of how a lawyer should be and speaks based on his morals created by his feelings instead of morals created by ethics (right or wrong). He's 100% certain that Cara's killer is an evil person, not considering other possible options. He is sympathetic and sweet- filled with positivity, love and hope and he feels pity, sadness and fear for others. He's capable of persuading other people based on empathy and trust- the audience
As things currently stand, everyone could be put in the pathos category except for Eva and Damon who are more or less Logos. Other logos could very well be Ulysses and Desmond- Even Eloise
However, some of them could be Ethos based on their talents alone.
For example, Kai is the Ultimate Influencer. Kai is an influencer who plays the social game to amass favor with others and bends to public opinion. He could make choices based on what would be 'The most morally right', but in turn ends up doing more wrong in the process (Since y'know, making choices based on a set standard rather than bending to what needs to be done in the moment can be determental- ESPECIALLY in a killing game). Influencers care about their self-image more than they do their well-being so acting on his feelings may not be an automatic choice AND popular influencers such as Kai go about their day where they are not very logic-centered. An influencer has a high reputation and are automatically given somewhat of an authority who can bend the rules of society and can also BE bent from society and as such can always be seen as reliable people- hence why they're so influential. But as far as I can see, Kai hasn't been able to persuade anyone yet but who knows, he's not an Ultimate Influencer for no reason. He's capable of persuading other people based on how convincing he sounds and where it came from- the speaker
Possible ethos also include Cassidy and Wenona
Based on this, it would be interesting to see a pathos, a logos and an ethos clash during the trials, intervene with the decision making of the killers and even the victims, and see which of the three would inevitably come out on top.

Just due to the fact that their faces are constantly being covered up. Maybe when he removes his helmets and she removes her fan we may find a scar from a scratch.

But let me say one thing
I think that this killing game will actually end not by beating the mastermind
    And
This killing game will be cruel, cruel, cruel
    Also a fun fact
During the investigation in the prologue
Look inside the the closet from the hallway
You’ll see a familiar person standing in the closet 👀

I personally think that this case is from the killing game that Mara won, i think they got down to the point that only 2 students remained where they correctly convicted the third after their last school trial and the way this killing went is that they both knew that all they had to do was kill each other to escape as that is a guaranteed win for the blackened at a school trial, and the teacher aid being smart stole a gun from Mara as i believe she is/was the ultimate markswoman and went on the hunt. This is where Mara set the trap seen in the first case. This would also explain the numerous and unneccesary amount of stab wounds present on the victim as Mara had to make sure that she was dead, and probably despair of her first killing possibly.
Thus now Mara is the aid of tozu as he helped her get away from her murder outside the killing game in what i believe was one of tozu's first or one of numerous killing games. This would also explain how they were able to capture a whole class, if this is ''history repeating itself'' maybe they waited a long time before hosting another killing game and thats how they were able to go under the radar.
This quote also makes me suspicous of Ulysses Wilhelm, being the ultimate historian he follows the virtue of growing and learning from histories mistakes, making me think he is going to either be a prominent character going forward or in a specific case or is a killer himself showing that we need to learn from the past.

In chapter 1 he leads the group and gives them daily speech’s or something to keep to whole group together and not kill… and he ends up being the first victim. This will shock everyone and feel despair. But the real reason why I came up with this theory is that since Wolfgang is dead, they will have to trust Damon more as he is the only person that is actually capable to help lead everyone in the class trials. This is a bit far fetched but it feels right to me.

Maybe Mara could have been an ultimate at the same time as Cara. Mara could have been an ultimate that was based off of a military career. Every time a trial happened Cara could have blamed Mara saying she killed, because of her talent. Mara got so sick of it, and at the end she brutally murdered Cara.

cool theories and great vid!! i personally have a slightly different take on the sheep symbolism for wolfgang. instead of his conviction being the thing to lead others astray, i think that the story will instead fall back on that core theme they keep pushing of logic vs emotions. it's established in the trial that damon can choose to trust wolfgangs "lawyer intuition," but i feel like in the final trial, wolfgang might agree with something that he doesn't fully believe is true, and end up getting the group killed by not raising an objection or trusting his gut (i'd especially love to see this happen because it feels like a bold as fuck ending to a dr game and one i haven't really seen explored much, so i think it has the potential to be really cool if done well). that way, he fulfils the role of a sheep by following along and trusting damon's more logical outlook rather than his own more emotion-driven perspective. i think this could also play with his justice symbolism by literally taking the statement "justice is blind" and twisting it so that his blindness comes from following or trusting the group's perspective even though he personally thinks something different. furthermore, i think his emotion-driven conviction comes from some sort of backstory related trauma- note the specifics of his statement when discussing cara's death; "killing a woman is the worst thing a man can do." that phrasing is WEIRD, right? mainly just because i love em fucked up, i think he witnessed something like his father/brother killing his mother/sister when he was very young and didn't see his father/brother get as severe a punishment as he would have liked, so he became a lawyer to try and get revenge or justice for his mother/sister, and for others in similar situations. it would explain his incredibly strong sense of conviction and investment in the case, potentially because he sees a bit of his own childhood in it. but i think either outcome could be awesome, tbh!! i rly just want wolfgang angst because i love him lmaooo
as for mara, i rly love the idea that her and cara have some overlap or history oh my gosh!! i hadnt even thought of that. the idea of her mask hiding scratches/scars is such a cool theory especially! one thing im interested in could be completely incidental but they both have a covered section of their legs, mara's being bandaged and cara's being covered with socks/legwarmers- assuming its not coincidence, it could be interesting if they had a mark or scar or tattoo that might link them together, reminiscent of mukuro perhaps.
i am kind of hyperfixating on edens garden so here are some more (shorter, i promise. sort of) takes on the various animal symbolisms in the character designs:
    - i think toshiko will be either burned to death or have fire be part of her execution because not only does fire symbolise passion like her talent as matchmaker but flamingos in the bible supposedly mean being a flame and i think that could be taken VERY literally considering theyre putting a lot of attention on the biblical stuff. you mentioned this in the speculations vid but i also 100% do nott trust toshiko AT ALL especially with the way she covers the lower half of her face and mouth, even in the promo artwork like the halloween drawing- what could she be hiding?
    - cassidy's black widow symbol also gives me weird vibes because it feels like theyre trying to push for her being evil or weaving a web with which to ensnare everyone, but black widows are rarely fatal and i really dont think shes gonna kill anyone if theyre planning to adhere to that, which i reckon they will. in fact she might try to kill someone and get killed in response, like a human squashing a spider after being bitten by it.
    - diana's chameleon COULD just represent her skill as a makeup artist and her colourful personality and vibrant appearance but it can also represent adaptability and acceptance of change which i feel could lead super well into her being a killer, like celeste being very quick to accept the killing game's rules. even if she doesnt accept it immediately (ie her vow of not killing anyone, regardless of what happens), i feel like she would be fast to adapt after the first chapter trial and maybe be a ch 2 or 3 killer if they wanted to do a cute girl fakeout that wasnt toshiko. i also think that her execution has a lot of potential to be interesting with her talent and could be super duper fucked up if they leaned hard into it. like, chameleons can be seen 100% as a bad thing- someone who changes their beliefs the second theyre approached by something different, and since we're pulling on biblical stuff, thats cringe and bad and people who are “chameleons” are bad and should be punished according to . idk . god (if not clear i am not religious so this is all osmosis and asking my christian friends for their takes)
    - ulysses' owl being wisdom and knowledge but also death and bad omens (similar to eva's raven, i imagine), i feel they could twist that as him being killed if they did a 2-death chapter because he was in the wrong place at the wrong time (ie wasnt able to sleep and walked in on the killer's plans). owls also being prophetic has me worried, because i feel they could play with it like he says something like "if you guys arent careful " and then it does and so suspicion immediately falls on him. furthermore i feel like the symbol of prophesy ties well into the history repeats concept mentioned both in the trailer and by him during the prologue. but also they could use his symbolism more literally, pulling from an owls ability to travel almost silently or have great hunting reflexes and having him be a twist or self-defence killer, which imo would be dope.
    - mark. hoo boy mark. if theyre going with biblical symbolism for that guy it is all over for him . deception, jealousy and warning?? like hell nah . i think they could play around with him and ulysses bouncing off eachother with their prophecy/warning shit but yeah i could 100% see mark being the mikan play not eloise. bro even has like 3 letters the same in their names (/j) . but seriously, his colour being green feeds into the jealousy well, i could see some kind of crime-of-passion playout where he kills someone close to jett and then we get a peko/fuyuhiko, ishimaru/mondo trial where jett is going through all the stages of grief and we get more backstory on him.
all in all, i dont doubt therell be any shortage of crimes of passion where people who rely on logic to solve their problems wont be able to come to a conclusion without understanding the human aspect which is what makes wolfgang so important to the story and also what could lead to his downfall if he's proved wrong using damon's logic too many times (ie. he might start to doubt himself and trust damon's judgement above his own, leading to the group's downfall)

I came up with a potential trama dump for Wolfgang: Since he is the ultimate lawyer, I can see that one of his clients killed someone and lied to Wolfgang saying that they were set up. His client wins the case and he finds out that they actually did kill someone, and vows to make sure that any person who commits murder will be brought to justice. This is why he lashes out so much during the trial and why he hates lying so much.

I think the theory that mara could be cara would be best the scenario.
I think after being attacked, she probably survived the wounds and went merciless after almost being killed. If you look at Cara's eyes before and after the bleach was poured on her head and face. They went from blue to red and it could've been permanent damage (whether or not they could've been repaired). As for her hair, because the bleach could've set in her hair for a period of time (if she was pretending to be dead) could've permanently change from red to silver. Bleach can also cause severe burns depending on the degree. If she sustained burns, it's possible that the marks represent her sorrow and PTSD from when she almost died. So she probably wants to avoid seeing the scars as much as possible, especially if she suffers from night terrors of the experience. So she wears a mask of a animal she feels protected from in her night terrors. Panthers tend to mainly roam at night, feeling fearless and territorial of their terrain. It could give her a sense of power that she didn't feel in the killing game.
Finally, she changed her name because it matches her current mindset and appearance. Based on information Cara means loved one or darling, while Mara means misery or grief.
She probably feels grief over what happened in the killing game and the pure misery and terror of almost being murdered and fighting for her life. And most likely lost someone she loved in the last killing game, either a sibling, friend or lover, and probably suffers from survivor's guilt because of it. She probably chose the panther mask as she's all that's left of the last killing game, since normally it's mostly heard that panthers usually hunt on their own and not in a pack. So since she's the only one left, she feels to carry the grief and misery alone on her shoulders by choosing to survive and do as the academy says by becoming the disciplinarian.
As for Wolfgang, I think with the way he reacted there's only one reason:
He knew Cara. Either as a sister or crush or girlfriend. Most lawyers in real life don't show any emotion in cases unless it has tore at them for hours, days, weeks, etc. The way Wolfgang reacted, especially about the overkill, felt to me a sense of anger and grieving. I think Wolfgang only accepted the invite into Eden's Academy to find the truth about what happened to Cara. However, because he had to help review her case, he became very emotional and determined to find her killer. I feel like that case alone will probably be brought up more than once in a effort to solve some of the secrets of the academy.
But this is my theory anyway. Also big fan of you WeebyNewz. Love ya to death. ❤️
    P.S. I ship Hinamiki hardcore.

I think logos and pathos should be two different routes rather than a wrong and right route. Instead of logos getting everyone killed, maybe play a mini game to convince everyone? And if you chose pathos then a mini game plays where you have to drag the truth out of the culprit with emotion so they expose themselves as the culprit and at the end of the game maybe then the pathos and logos route can be so impactful that depending on which you chose a different ending will be given
(Just a thought tbh this is basically me randomly rambling)

I’d like to believe that Wolfgang will become the antagonist/crazy person character in this game. We already see how he can be very passionate / hold very strong opinions on things, and I think that this will all come to a head when he reveals his ‘Wolf’ side. He might challenge the protagonist and cast to see if they’ll live up to their ‘Ultimate’ monikers (very similar to Nagito), shake up the killing game and even challenge the mastermind at times to make the whole situation more interesting. He just seems too put-together in a way…I’m almost bracing myself for his eventual mental breakdown hahaha

I noticed something else unrelated to the case that may be important. The wristwatches. I noticed that the wristwatches don’t just shock the wearer if they are breaking a rule, I believe there is a room with the controls that can shock someone as soon as it is set. My evidence is when Grace was acting aggressive and got shocked for it despite not actually breaking a rule and Tozu said he did that to settle her down when he was still just a voice on the speaker. But when he showed himself, he didn’t try to shock Grace when she lunged at him, which meant when he is not out of sight, the wristwatches won’t shock you manually since Tozu must be the only person to use it since Mara didn’t just do that instead of shooting at Grace. This would also imply that Tozu and Mara are the only masterminds of the killing game if you disregard a potential traitor among the group. If there were more, then the shock wristwatches would have been more effective to sedating the group and Mara’s role would just be pointless. She’s important because when Tozu is putting himself out in the open, the shock room is empty and thus gives the group a window of attacking him, so Mara is supposed to be the second line of defense.

lets say about this. . . eden's garden maybe took same rule as V3, first murder yet not in first chapter really have some plot hole about reason Cara get killed and popular theory about only 2 student can survive. So Cara is main 3 last student, like Saihara, Maki and Himiko. Take Himiko as Cara role here, we can believe that Cara get killed not because she cause her own death but if the fact she really prepare her self to get out and must choose someone among 'her friend'.
The clock I think is same way how 'Tsumigi' trigger all student in panic, not only the timer but in eden;s garden previous killing game the mastermind use the speaker and play intense music to make 3 student more more desperate. Himiko or Cara here know she the one so easy get kill so walk around, 'Maki' probably stay in weapon room with timer and 'Saihara' somewhere.
Talk again if Cara is the person set up all think in that room, 'Maki' know the trap and want to stop here. Instant they get fight, and 'Saihara' here those noise run into the room and 'Maki' and 'Saihara' here know how danger Cara with a Gun and ready take a shoot so they need make her calm but they decide to kill her.

Given the slightly different body types and lack of injuries, maybe Mara and Cara are sisters? If we take the previous killing game theory into account, Cara's death could have gone two ways to lead her to this point, she either got so desperate to escape that she killed her own sister OR finding out that, despite them both surviving to the end, her sister got killed right at the finish line and it just shattered her. It's probably far more complicated than this, but this is just food for thought I guess.

My main theory is that this is some The Good Place style situation i.e. they’re all in Hell and receiving eternal punishment. Given all the Christian symbolism, Damon as the snake, the apple, the tree, the garden of Eden, even just visual resemblances to certain depictions of the garden of Eden, we can probably extend this blanket analogy to Tozu. In a lot of iterations, Satan is often depicted with a goat’s head, meaning that Tozu might well be the devil and this is some form of cruel punishment. Following on from this, perhaps the murder of Cara is what they’re being punished for. There were so many stab wounds after all; it could be like MOTOE where everyone had one chance w the knife. If the theories about Mara and Cara being related are true, then maybe Mara is helping Tozu because she sees this as comeuppance for her sister/lover/whatever’s killers.
I also wanted to mention that when Tozu remarks on how sad it was to reconstruct Cara’s murder, he mentions how said “Horace” would be. I don’t have any thoughts about this I just wanted to bring this up since I’ve seen nobody mention it

He kept sharping on the fact that the victim was a woman, then fixes himself saying it would be just as brutal if it was a man. But he kept giving the idea that her being a woman.

I think Mara and Kara being the same person could be possible if the recreation of the murder is different from what had actually had happened. Like there was a third person present that stopped Mara from being killed and stabbed the actual victim 28 times thanks to a combination of desperation, stress and adrenaline. And as such Tozu decided to combine what happened to Kara with what had happened to the possible actual victim.
Of course, I do think Mara siding with Tozu is due to having been betrayed by the third person that was there that day. This is because of how certain people see beauty as skin deep. So an ultimate abandoning her thanks to the scars she had received from the chemical burns makes sense and becomes fuel for hate if she had feelings for that person in particular. After all such betray would leave her broken and wanting revenge. Leading to Tozu seeing how Kara had "died" that day. Allowing for Mara to be born as his enforcer.
Also this kinda works with what doobz salam had said about their names. Since they're right. Kara means friend and Mara means Bitter. So it works well narratively for someone who was betrayed and became bitter even after possibly getting their revenge fulfilled.

  • @11th-lemon

This theories were interesting, although I have an objection for the one about the rules changing when there are only 3 survivors left. I think that if the game got to that point, then the only survivors would be the people who endured every single murder motive presented by the hosts, including the obligatory brute force motive of threatening to kill everyone if no murder happens. I don't think swaying those survivors would be possible. Even if they decided to murder, I think they would have done it in a consensual way or with a suicide. Otherwise they would have already killed by that point.
As for the Mara theory, I think it's more likely that she killed Cara, although she also seemed too cold for that. You raised a good point bringing up her stomach. I also think Cara was too short to be Mara, and their eye colors didn't seem to match.
I don't think there will be a case where appealing to emotions will be necessary, as the tutorial said all cases can be solved through logic alone, while pathos arguments are little bonus scenes.
As for the last theory, I don't think the academy was trying to create a true ultimate with the killing game. Hiding all those deaths would be impossible, especially since ultimates are famous people. Also, most talents aren't related to killing, surviving or solving murders, but that's doesn't make them lesser talents. And lastly, people won't really learn leadership from the killing game. Rather, those who are bad at it will just die while the ones who are already good at it will probably live.
This was interesting. If you have more theories I wouldn't mind a second part.

If Weeby would make another video on this, my biggest theory I'd want to hear her take on is the idea that Wolfgang was the one who killed Cara. My evidence is that he kept referring to the killer as a man, like he knew it was a man, despite having no way of knowing that unless he knows who killed her from before the game started, he insists that the killing was sadistic, again, like he was in the head of the killer (maybe he's so against murder that when he saw Cara with a gun, he got so upset he decided she deserves to die, painfully), his emotional outbursts make more sense to me if he was going through some sort of self loathing and self hate because he regrets his act (which is consistent with his highly justice focused personality), and the fact that if Wolfgang was the killer, one weird detail about the case suddenly makes a lot of sense. Why did the killer use something as obvious as a stepladder to boost themselves, and then just LEAVE IT AT THE SCENE? What if they didn't? In the game it is implied that someone as "freakishly tall" as Wolfgang wouldn't need the stepladder and could set up the bleach on their own. So what if that's what happened? Wolfgang positioned the bleach on the door on his own, using his height, then planted the stepladder to widen the pool of suspects. On a wider scale, this could relate to why this killing game is happening at all. If Wolfgang did this in a previous killing game, and got away with it, he either "won" or, like is suggested in this video, that was the final kill before there were only two people left. Maybe the other person who escaped with Wolfgang wasn't too keen on Wolfgang ending the game like that, and decided to throw him back into another one as revenge. Admittedly that's a little shaky, but I think it's possible.
I think Weeby's theory on the killing game being a way to determine who is a true ultimate may have some weight to it, however, I hope that's not all it is, because I've been accustomed to more earth shattering twists at the end of the game by canon Danganronpa. SPOILERS FOR DANGANRONPA 1 Like if the world hasn't ended on the outside and we have to deal with that bombshell at Chapter 6, I'll be a little disappointed SPOILERS OVER.
Overall this was a good video. Thanks for feeding my new hyperfixation on Eden's Garden, Weeby!

True or not this is an interesting concept
Also the reason why he refer as the killer as man was probably bc Tozu say it he refer to the killer as ''he'' and instead of grey person he say grey man, but i get your point

I understand all the Kara theory and it his a good one that remains 3 people only but only 2 wins and so 1 got killed and 2 passed, but at the same time you think that if someone kill the third person thinking that would end its still a longshot but what if touzo (i dont know if is written in the right way sorry qwq)
Actually it didnt do it when there was 3 people but actually 16? As he said he did a lot of killings games, but what if Kara case was the first killing game that touzo did.
I know that this game is not related to any real dangaronpas, but what if the creator of the game think about at the first incident of "the most tragic moment in human history" meaning the very first killing game of Junko in that school, not like Junko related but as a ispiration.
Try to think about it, 1). Kara is wondering around the halls of the school with a rifle and that is strange at first sight but at the same time you think "well she need to protect herself etc" but at the same time u ask yourserlf if she doing that on the porpouse to defend herself or kill someone, try to think 16 students in the first game of Touzo, Touzo tell everyone their worst segrets (just one) but at the same time he shows to everyone a video of their parents of loved ones being tortured or others, from there despair star to flow to each of the participants and he says in the end: "Here some weapons, the last that will be alive can see their parents again (or something else)" and from there the killing spree goes on and there is kara wandering around the hall tryng to not kill
    someone but at the same
time died but well we knows what happens.
Well this is just my theory nothing other have a good day or evening

I think why she had blood on her nails was she picked up the gun and when u pick up a gun your nails go on the trigger and nothing else so maybe she tried killing someone OR She knew there would be a death game because she was a participant and knows what will go down assuming she tried killing she didn’t get to it kinda like sayaka’s crime and then she was stabbed and blood was splashed on her nails

I think everyone’s overthinking the prologue trial because while yes it’s easy to figure out how they killed Cara there’s no way to figure out who killed Cara. We know they were in a room with Cara outside with a gun. We know they’ve planned this murder to kill Cara for a while because of how much of this murder is planned. But that doesn’t say who did it. And yeah we don’t know who was in the killing game this murder took place if it was in a killing game but there’s no evidence that says “yeah this person could have done it!”. There’s no hair, no note, no extra crime scene, there isn’t even something that only the killer could have had. This is important because in danganronpa there has always been one pice of evidence that led to the killer. It’s as simple as “only this gender could have done it because of ___” to “I am the traitor.” There’s never been one time where something hasn’t led to the killer without being given all the necessary evidence to solve the case. So we could just not have all the evidence or it could just be that they didn’t know who to guess and voted wrong. It doesn’t make sense why it’s being shown unless it’s there to show that either Wolfgang or Damon are thinking about the killing game the wrong way because why would the teachers aid have a gun unless everyone was taught to not trust anyone. Or maybe they trusted each other to much and it led them to being absolutely terrified of each other. Maybe someone from this killing game killed Cara and got away with it. It could explain some of the predator symbols on characters even when most of them don’t feel like they wouldn’t be able to kill someone. It might even be Eloise because her first reaction to being there was to hide in a bush but that just might be how she is.

I know that the video now got uploaded a while ago, but I now finally played the prologue.
I think Eloise might be the mastermind, because she mentioned that fencing is all about predicting the opponent's next move / reading your opponent.
Just a small detail I noticed.

Hey guys, I don't know if anyone has already a theory of this but I'll just say it anyway...
What if Tozu and Mara were actually the two survivors from the previous killing game? Hence, explaining the death of Cara. Why I thought of this is because while Tozu was explaining about the dummy he mentioned, on quote: It was quite emotionally draining to craft that dummy...” Implying he was attached very much with the murder case. But what surprised me, is when he said, on quote again: “Oh, don't worry about finding the murderer's identity. He's already right in front of you.” Then he immediately put our attention to the killer on the tablet. But here's the tea, what if Tozu is actually Cara's killer? That explains how sick and twisted Tozu's personality is. And him being the new headmaster of Project Eden's Garden. It would be a very shocking twist that the case they solved at the very start was his case all along. And let's not forget about Mara, she is also involved in the killing game but she is put as an enforcer theoretically because she was the only one who didn't end up killing anybody from the past killing game. While Cara being the one failing the last game... I am so convinced that maybe this is what really happened in the previous killing game or I might be wrong but these few details really make everything fall back together.
If you want to know what I'm talking about why I think Tozu is the killer of Cara, please check the gameplay. I'll put the time where you can find what I quote in my statement.

I have a theory about toshiko.Toshiko could maybe be the mastermind because in the original danganronpa game all beauty related character are supposedly a mastermind and yea Diana does have have a talent about beauty Toshiko animal is a flamingo and they also represent beauty and her backstory could be she saw müder took place on the tv and while watching she saw the despair and by that she enjoy watching it and so maybe she wanted to matchmake people into killing each other and Toshiko does it for the fun of it all and this is just a theory

Something dumb ive been considering is that Cara's death was fake. Like the case happened but it was NOT Cara. I'm guessing the real one who suffered the fate was someone who had a few more unique/special features so in order for Tozu to make everything more simple they used Cara. This would make the Cara = Mara theory possible.

Okay this is very random (this happend in my dream and is a very bad theory)
What if Diana=Cara and the reason why you cant see the bleach wounds is because shes a make-up artist and can easily cover her wounds (i know this is bad lol)
And its sus that Wenonas last name wasnt revealed so what if Wenona and Cara are related
And maybe Wolfgang was so emotional about Cara is because Wolfgang maybe was in the killing game with Cara and thats why he was so emotional

a thought comes to mind, about how Tozu could also possibly be the culprit who killed Cara. He does cover his face the same as Mara, and the gray suit thing he also wears would cover up his neck as well. the expressions of the culprit are also pretty on-brand for the little we've seen from Tozu in terms of sprite poses and personality
