  • Claude Pierray, made in Paris in 1709. Beautiful antique instrument. Deep, dark, round tone. Finest of the early French makers, Claude Pierray was a contemporary of Jacques Boquay. Boquay's work was more highly priced during their lifetimes despite Pierray's superiority as a craftsman and his finer materials, but in general their instruments are similar in appearance. Pierray's output, which is sometimes taken for Italian, includes viols, violins and small cellos, and is especially admired by players.
Approximate value for this maker: €60,000
Music excerpt played in this video:
    Bach Chaconne
    Performed by Emil Lyutfali

This Violin has a very balanced sound across the strings and at the same time has a very dark tone color from the G string. The most important thing is to have a great violinist to make the violin sound great!
Love your playing Mr Emil is really awesome!
