    Great Review!
    Yesterday I traded a 2016 Murano platinum for a 2018. Both cars are the same black with graphite interior. That is a testimonial to purchase a second one the same as the first. The trade had 28,000 miles. I figure that if I kept the 16 for 5 years the value would be very low so making the move now is cool, plus if you keep your eyes open there are rebates often up to $10,000 in October and November. On trips the Murano is wonderfully comfy. The radio is soooooooooo nice to listen to.
    Couple of tips. a headlight is $1100 around $2,000 installed the front bumper has to be removed to get to it. So warranties are a big deal. Dealers charge too much for extended warranty. With Geico, if you buy a new car, and are under 15,000 miles you can ask Geico about their extended warranty for very little on your premium every six months. I don't know of other insurance companies that do that. When the factory warranty is up you have a great warranty to 100,000. Each problem Geico charges you $250 deductible and they pay the rest. Considering that the entertainment center is $2500 to replace as an example, it is a no-brainer. In my case, I opted for the coverage but decided to trade when I looked at dealer incentives recently and did the math. I worked in an office and recall a sign on the wall that read, "if you think education is expensive, try ignorance". The Murano is worth every penny. A great way to buy a car is to buy 2018 in January 2019 during a blizzard, the dealers are starving. I chose not to because I had a trade and the trade in goes down too. A straight purchase is great in January or after Christmas. Also, a wonderful time to buy a boat-----wait for the blizzard! ha, ha. Muranos are the best!!!!!!!

    This is the very car i bought. After about 3 months some comments- I find it hard to park. Has some visibility problems but a fantastic camera system. Runs ok, but not a speedy vehicle due to the CVT. But in a word- smooth. Ride, drive, and comfort. Digging it.

      I'm thinking about getting a Murano. I'm getting mixed signals on the type of fuel.
      Does Nissan recommend using premium fuel or is regular acceptable?

    Yes it pays to shop and compare ,,, we purchased a 2018 Murano SL, loaded with excellent features but one of the big selling points for us was the 3.5 V-6 engine. Smooth as silk and plenty of power when you need it, fuel consumption is surprisingly very good indeed and I don't know where you could find a more comfortable vehicle. Want to compare it against a 2018 Mazda CX-9 ? ,, simply no comparison at all, Mazda priced out at $ 3980.00 ( Can. ) higher than the Murano, the Mazda has a four cylinder turbo engine which gives only marginally better fuel consumption. The Mazda doesn't have near the features and in terms of driver / passenger comfort it doesn't even come close. Imagine the fuel you can purchase for almost four thousand dollars. Nissan you built a lovely vehicle in the Murano and the vehicle offers excellent value for your car buying dollar ,,,,, by the way, no, I don't work for Nissan I'm just a happy customer.

    This is the second review of yours that I have come across (first was Hyundai Tuscon). Another quality and well presented job. I really like how you show visually the difference in features in spec levels. That's great. I used to have a Murano, but where I live they are no longer offered in the Nissan stable. Was great to see how this model has evolved. :-)

    Meant to say 2016 platinum. Still love it, it gas mileage is more like 13 to 14 mpg in the city. No where’s near 21 . Maybe it will make up for it in the highway. Mileage can be improved (on the highway) by using the cruise control.

    Some additions that l love are the available WiFi through Nissan Connect and wireless charging capabilities. Overall, a very modern crossover that undercuts the competition in price but is still very competitive. Hopefully the refresh adds a HUD, tri-climate controls, a thigh extender, more interior stitching, Nissan’s ProPilot, and (more Horsepower like the Pathfinder/QX60’s refreshes).I find it sad that this car is superior than some of Infiniti products.

    Beautiful Nissan vehicle as always. Can't wait to see them refresh it. Cabin is still nice but is definitely aging compared to its fellow vehicles. Pathfinder, Murano and Armada could use a revamp. The rest of Nissan's interiors are starting to make the last 3 look bad.

    I thought you were gonna drive it and review the drive. I've heard that the Murano feels heavy and not as polished as it looks. Great car review though! For me it was between the Highlander and the Pilot. This kinda knocks the Pilot out the box! It's now between the Highlander and the Murano. I like the Murano a lot, but the CVT concerns me. Any chance you will be doing a road test on this 2018 Murano?

    None of the Murano reviews that I've seen, address the AWD system and how it handles on gravel, snow, mud, etc. Is it user selectable or does the computer choose?
    Can you put 20's on the SV & SL?
    Wish it sat an inch or two higher.

    All around the Murano is a great vehicle. Similar to the idea of GMC’s Denali trim, it’s a near luxury vehicle without luxury prices. It’s no wonder it does so well... except the Murano crosscabriolet; that was a good idea in concept but not in execution

    Great review. I just bought this platinum model and can’t get the Nissan connect to work. My dealer has a bunch of idiots working there and couldn’t help.
    I’ll be calling tech support. I do have a couple of questions. Pushing the buttons to bring the rear seats upright does not bring them to the more comfortable semi-reclining position. And the passenger side mirror doesn’t tilt down in reverse. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance

    • @CarConfections
      @CarConfections  6 лет назад +1

      Thanks! To answer your questions, the mirror tilting is controlled within the vehicle settings on the infotainment screen, so you should be able to turn it on and off there. As far the rear seats, I'm not 100% sure but I think that is a far as it can recline (in the video). You can let go of the return button earlier to make it more upright. Hope this helps!

We also have a review of the 2018 Rogue if you want to check that out and note the differences. Otherwise I'd simply suggest checking them out in person because they are very different vehicles. Drive the Rogue first then drive the Marano, you will be purchasing the Marano with out a doubt. Even though the 4 cyl Rogue get better mileage on the highway (32 mpg) the more powerful V-6 in the Marano gets 28 on the highway which is not bad either.

      Nissan usually runs there SUV designs between 5 to 6 years, with a major refresh during its mid-term. Since the first model was a 2015 don't expect a all new model untill at least 2021.

    Watch out on the design of the Nissan Murano 2018. Have a 2017 model and the dashboard trim/vent which are light colored are casting it's image on both side mirrors. In my opinion a Very Bad Safety Design. You would not have a clear view of what is on the vehicles sides during daylight ours. Watch out ... Called Nissan and they don't care about it, said it is not a factory defect. So, see for yourselves.

    • @harpgeek6991
      @harpgeek6991 6 лет назад

      I also have a 2017.5 Murano SL and have no idea what this means..."light colored trim/vent" is an area on my car I'm not familiar with, but I can tell you there are no visibility, reflection, or "image casting" problems in my car. And I'll add the overall safety features throughout the vehicle are exceptional. But I do agree, go see for yourselves...best car I've ever owned by far.

      Interesting, was just at the Nissan Dealership yesterday 03/16/18 and showed one of the employees (got my $50 for testing the Murano last month ... informed her that I tested and bought the Murano in the evening and of course did not see the reflection), and yes the employee saw the reflection. Here's how to see the obvious, in the morning before driving to wherever you are going, take a second and look at both your side mirrors and I bet you just were oblivious about it BUT you should see the reflection of the light colored trim of the interior vent/s on both side mirrors. I WILL POST PHOTOS IF YOU STILL DON'T SEE THE OBVIOUS !!!!!
