    Alex, I have never commented on any RUclips video before. But, I have been a subscriber to your channel for some time and I feel compelled to tell you how great your reviews are. You consistency produce the best car reviews I have ever seen and no one else is even close. I'm including RUclips reviewers, as well as, car review shows on TV like Motorweek. I have also noticed over time that as you're gaining experience with more vehicles, you have honed your ability to compare and contrast competing cars in an increasingly effective way. I appreciate the time you put into each review and the passion you display in each video. Keep up the good work!!

    The other reviewer is so right. You're easily one of the best and most detailed reviewer on RUclips. I love the categories of discussion and comparison. You make a prospective buyer's decision so much easier.

    I literally got a Murano just for this review. Considering the Murano, Rogue, Edge, Forrester, MX5 and Tiguan... this video (and others) were the reason why I made this choice before I had to go do a single test drive!!!

    Hi Alex. I've been following your videos for the past 2 years. You have been very informative. Especially now that I have been L"OO"King for a newer SUV to replace my beloved 2006 Infinti QX56 with 206000 Miles. She still purrs like a Kitten and gets an Oil Change every 4000 Miles instead of 6000 Miles. Since I have a friend that is interested in the Infinti and offered me a very GooD Price I finally Gave in, although A BIT Reluctantly. Oviously I'm DOWN Sizing, but this move will benifit us both. My friend has Loved my
    Infinti since the first time she rode in it 3 years ago and knows how I take care of it. All hoses and belts
    have been replaced, plus at 200000 Miles the best Spark Plugs and service was done.THANKS for the information on The Nissan Murano, which with all I learned from YOU made it easier for my decision.
    I got to drive a Beautiful Murano yesterday. With your information it made it a LOT Easier if I should get it.
    Today is March 15, 2017.

    Hi Alex,
    No body review like you on a customer stand point. Most of the reviewers overly obsessed on the drive and handling capabilities. But you provide information on all aspects and a detailed comparison. I bought a Nissan Rogue 2014 and NX 200 t, and your reviews helped me to make those decisions and I am very happy with my decision.
    I always wanted to ask you this question though. Your standard comment of third raw ends with the quote "suitable for your mother in law". I am more than happy to do that as long as my wife didn't saw your reviews.

    Well, your review helped quite a bit with my decision, and as of this Wednesday, I'm the owner of a 2015 Nissan Murano.. so far I have to say that I love it. In my opinion it's pretty quick, or at least it feels like it even with that CVT in it, and it just feels well made over all... great review Alex! thanks for the time and effort you put into these reviews...

    Hello Alex, Great reviews. You are one of my go-to guys for good auto reviews. Question - would like to hear your comparison of RDX vs. Murano. They are both priced close to each other and both have good reviews.

    • @AAutoBuyersGuide
      @AAutoBuyersGuide  9 лет назад +1

      Mableton Resident The RDX is certainly sportier, the Murano is very soft. The RDX is trying to be more of a European competitor in feel and in design while the Murano is marching to its own drummer. The RDX is faster, tighter, firmer.

    Test drove a Maurano the other day. Really liked it. But the rear has some major rear visibility issues. Where the Murano really shines is the interior. I think it might attract some Lexus or Infiniti shoppers looking to save some money getting a Murano.
    And I can't believe I am saying this but I liked the CVT. Nissan has really improved it.

  • @atoumari1

    Hi Alex
    In comparing the Murano with the Edge, you may want to also point out that automatic breaking is not offered on any trim of the Edge. In fact, Ford does not offer this feature on any of its products.

  • @Colino9375
    @Colino9375 9 лет назад +3

    A fully loaded Murano is similar in price to a base BMW X3. I test drove both these and found them close, but just gave the edge to the X3. I know that they are not direct competitors feature-for-feature, but there is a price overlap. I was wondering what you thought about the comparison between the two (base X3 vs fully loaded Murano), especially when it comes to ride and handling.
    Thanks and excellent review, as usual.

    Alex, the Murano "base model" is unique:
    1. Navigation separately-$840, light colored interior, & red exterior paint at no extra cost!!
    Base on most cars is industrail black, no nav. option, and extra cost for red paint!!.

    Great review Alex! I laughed when you said you fit a gallon of milk and a box of cereal in the arm rest! (Hopefully not mixed together lol) I really like this design, and Nissan's designs have been hit or miss for me lately. Two questions for you.
    1) Have you noticed that most Nissan products have a problem with the rear of the car being lower than the front? Like the distance between the wheel and fender is always lower in the rear. It makes the car look like it has a heavy load in the trunk, even when it's empty. Its like every Maxima, Pathfinder, Altima, and Sentra has this look to it that makes them look unattractive to me. Same with the 2008-2012 Avalon. Is it just weak springs? I've never seen Honda products with this problem.
    2) Not to sound ungrateful, but I hate to make a request like this because you provide so much info as it is, which is awesome. But could you do a quick headlight review? You dont have to show a night clip, but just a verbal review of the evenness, throw distance, brightness of the low beams on the different trim levels, and the high beams as well vs the competition? You do occasionally put in some words about the LED's not being adaptive like HID's, etc...but just wondering if you could make it a thing. Like give them a ?/10 rating for high and low beams.
    Thanks again, and keep up the great work!

    Once again, an excellent review! No reviewer does it better in my humble opinion! Alex how would the Murano compare to the 2016 Kia Sorento? Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for your excellent reviews!

    • @AAutoBuyersGuide
      @AAutoBuyersGuide  9 лет назад +1

      They are in different categories for the most part, but I think they compare well. The Sorento is a little more buttoned down, a little less premium in the cabin but an excellent value alternative. I like the turbo in the Sorento a little better as well.

    Narrower tires hurt maximum handling and braking, but help fuel economy due to lower rolling resistance. May add 1-2 MPG with 4 smaller tires on the road moving two tons.

    Thanks Alex for such a detailed review on a new car. I was wondering how does Acura RDX compare to this. Also the rear visibility seems poor in this because of the design. What was ur experience? Also do u factor in the visibility when u rate the exterior design?

    • @AAutoBuyersGuide

      Less then ideal of course, but with the blind spot monitoring system and all around camera it wasn't really a problem.

  • @islandgirl103
    @islandgirl103 9 лет назад +3

    I like the new Murano's looks, especially the side profile. Nice review, Alex. This model has the 20-inch wheels, doesn't it? Have you had a chance to drive a model with the smaller wheels to judge whether the 20-inchers adversely affect the Murano's ride?
    On another note, I noticed your upcoming vehicles review list includes the "2015 GMC Colorado." Is it the GMC Canyon you'll be reviewing or the Chevy Colorado?
    Plus, are you going to get a chance to review the new Jeep Renegade in the next couple months (hopefully not just the Trailhawk version)?

    • @AAutoBuyersGuide
      @AAutoBuyersGuide  9 лет назад +6

      The 18 inch wheels do improve the ride but the Murano's ride is one of the best in the segment to start with.

    Alex, what are your thoughts on this vs. the Lexus RX350? I've always thought that was the closer matchup in Toyota's lineup given the poor reviews on the Venza. They seem to have similar demographical targets and similar power. I took a quick look at the pricing and I think the Murano tops out right where the RX would start and has better MPG. Does this really undercut the current RX350?

    • @AAutoBuyersGuide
      @AAutoBuyersGuide  9 лет назад +9

      I'd buy the Murano over the RX. The Murano lacks the real wood trim of the Lexus and the brand, but other than that the Nissan compares very well. It's about as fast, gets better fuel economy, has similar features available and is less expensive by a decent amount.

  • @kalimann2766

  • @postersm7141
    @postersm7141 6 лет назад +1

    Also to note, it’s not possible to get the same mpg with a front wheel drive versus all wheel drive vehicle. Nissan has corrected this in your 2018 models. It’s impossible to get the same fuel ratings with the same engine and drivetrain but you’re adding weight and drag with the all-wheel-drive system. They had to fix that or they would’ve had another class action lawsuit on their hands. They’ve already had a class action lawsuit over the CVT transmission

    You are the best Alex. That's for sure.
    I would appreciate it if you measured noise level at 70 mph. It is more represensative of real life Hwy driving.
    Also, I went thru this review twice but could not find a ride score.
    Could you please tell?
    Thx

      The Murano has probably the best ride in the segment. The slightly narrower tires and the softer springs really help out there even though this model had the 20 inch wheels.

    I don't really like the table of contents of the right side - it makes the actual video smaller. I'd advise to at least make it appear intermittently or put it in the intro text.

    Is the interior ambient lighting standard on the SL? If not, is it an option that could be purchased?

      MissPurplePotato In Canada, ambient lighting is standard on the SL and Platinum trim level. I would expect the same for the US version

    You lost me at Nissan CVT. Back in 2018 I tried renting a car through Lyft via Hertz. I was initially given a Altima till a week later the transmission blew, I was then given another Altima and then a Rouge and both returned due to transmission issues. The Hertz rep said it was common, he then put me in a 2018 Corolla SE, I drove it till it reached its mileage limit, guessing it was for resale value. I didnt have a single issue with that Corolla and turned me into a toyota fan boy.
