Alex, I have never commented on any RUclips video before. But, I have been a subscriber to your channel for some time and I feel compelled to tell you how great your reviews are. You consistency produce the best car reviews I have ever seen and no one else is even close. I'm including RUclips reviewers, as well as, car review shows on TV like Motorweek. I have also noticed over time that as you're gaining experience with more vehicles, you have honed your ability to compare and contrast competing cars in an increasingly effective way. I appreciate the time you put into each review and the passion you display in each video. Keep up the good work!!
The other reviewer is so right. You're easily one of the best and most detailed reviewer on RUclips. I love the categories of discussion and comparison. You make a prospective buyer's decision so much easier.
I literally got a Murano just for this review. Considering the Murano, Rogue, Edge, Forrester, MX5 and Tiguan... this video (and others) were the reason why I made this choice before I had to go do a single test drive!!!
I've been watching a lot of reviews on this crossover and I love it. I definitely want to own it as my first car and I'm 27. It has everything I need in a vehicle. Thank you for your in-depth review.
Alex is the best. I am a subscriber and his video reviews are the ultimate "go to" reviews on the web. Alex, let us know how we can donate to your cause and help you keep these reviews going. The best car reviews on the web.
Alex, I don't know how you can talk so fast, but you do pack a lot of information in your videos. I really appreciate your reviews and am looking at the Murano as my next car.
Wow, you just stepped up your game and raised the plank for all other reviewers out there. Context links is a nice touch and points of view are really good. I liked the shot with a steering wheel and the dashboard. Very creative. Good job!
Hi Alex. I've been following your videos for the past 2 years. You have been very informative. Especially now that I have been L"OO"King for a newer SUV to replace my beloved 2006 Infinti QX56 with 206000 Miles. She still purrs like a Kitten and gets an Oil Change every 4000 Miles instead of 6000 Miles. Since I have a friend that is interested in the Infinti and offered me a very GooD Price I finally Gave in, although A BIT Reluctantly. Oviously I'm DOWN Sizing, but this move will benifit us both. My friend has Loved my Infinti since the first time she rode in it 3 years ago and knows how I take care of it. All hoses and belts have been replaced, plus at 200000 Miles the best Spark Plugs and service was done.THANKS for the information on The Nissan Murano, which with all I learned from YOU made it easier for my decision. I got to drive a Beautiful Murano yesterday. With your information it made it a LOT Easier if I should get it. Today is March 15, 2017.
Recently replaced my 2015 Murano Platinum with a 2019 Altima Platinum. I love the tech and speed of my Altima but man was that Murano comfortable and quiet
Hi Alex, No body review like you on a customer stand point. Most of the reviewers overly obsessed on the drive and handling capabilities. But you provide information on all aspects and a detailed comparison. I bought a Nissan Rogue 2014 and NX 200 t, and your reviews helped me to make those decisions and I am very happy with my decision. I always wanted to ask you this question though. Your standard comment of third raw ends with the quote "suitable for your mother in law". I am more than happy to do that as long as my wife didn't saw your reviews. .
Well, your review helped quite a bit with my decision, and as of this Wednesday, I'm the owner of a 2015 Nissan Murano.. so far I have to say that I love it. In my opinion it's pretty quick, or at least it feels like it even with that CVT in it, and it just feels well made over all... great review Alex! thanks for the time and effort you put into these reviews...
Solid review, young man! I think this will be my next lease! The exterior is bold and "fashion-forward". Proof that concepts CAN become reality! Time for you to start offering some AOA t-shirts and caps! : )
Hello Alex, Great reviews. You are one of my go-to guys for good auto reviews. Question - would like to hear your comparison of RDX vs. Murano. They are both priced close to each other and both have good reviews.
Mableton Resident The RDX is certainly sportier, the Murano is very soft. The RDX is trying to be more of a European competitor in feel and in design while the Murano is marching to its own drummer. The RDX is faster, tighter, firmer.
Test drove a Maurano the other day. Really liked it. But the rear has some major rear visibility issues. Where the Murano really shines is the interior. I think it might attract some Lexus or Infiniti shoppers looking to save some money getting a Murano. And I can't believe I am saying this but I liked the CVT. Nissan has really improved it.
Hi Alex In comparing the Murano with the Edge, you may want to also point out that automatic breaking is not offered on any trim of the Edge. In fact, Ford does not offer this feature on any of its products.
A fully loaded Murano is similar in price to a base BMW X3. I test drove both these and found them close, but just gave the edge to the X3. I know that they are not direct competitors feature-for-feature, but there is a price overlap. I was wondering what you thought about the comparison between the two (base X3 vs fully loaded Murano), especially when it comes to ride and handling. Thanks and excellent review, as usual.
I think as far as design, I think the Edge looks better than the Murano, but the exterior/interior color combination of the Murano they sent you was awesome.
Alex, the Murano "base model" is unique: 1. Navigation separately-$840, light colored interior, & red exterior paint at no extra cost!! Base on most cars is industrail black, no nav. option, and extra cost for red paint!!.
The new 2015 Ford Edge is around the corner. It will be good to see how much they improved it. I like fluid designs like Murano and Lincoln MKZ they look very refine.
Nissan did a great job with the new Murano. They will try to slap this front end on every Nissan, and that WILL be a mistake, but it works here. This will be a big hit.
Great review Alex! I laughed when you said you fit a gallon of milk and a box of cereal in the arm rest! (Hopefully not mixed together lol) I really like this design, and Nissan's designs have been hit or miss for me lately. Two questions for you. 1) Have you noticed that most Nissan products have a problem with the rear of the car being lower than the front? Like the distance between the wheel and fender is always lower in the rear. It makes the car look like it has a heavy load in the trunk, even when it's empty. Its like every Maxima, Pathfinder, Altima, and Sentra has this look to it that makes them look unattractive to me. Same with the 2008-2012 Avalon. Is it just weak springs? I've never seen Honda products with this problem. 2) Not to sound ungrateful, but I hate to make a request like this because you provide so much info as it is, which is awesome. But could you do a quick headlight review? You dont have to show a night clip, but just a verbal review of the evenness, throw distance, brightness of the low beams on the different trim levels, and the high beams as well vs the competition? You do occasionally put in some words about the LED's not being adaptive like HID's, etc...but just wondering if you could make it a thing. Like give them a ?/10 rating for high and low beams. Thanks again, and keep up the great work!
Primary Competitors: Ford Edge, Jeep Grand Cherokee and Lexus RX350. Not designed to compete with Santa Fe Sport (No V6) or Toyota Venza (Which isn't produced anymore). Great video, happy that I stumbled upon them Alex. Nathan Hays Director of Customer Experience Jefferson City Autoplex
Once again, an excellent review! No reviewer does it better in my humble opinion! Alex how would the Murano compare to the 2016 Kia Sorento? Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for your excellent reviews!
They are in different categories for the most part, but I think they compare well. The Sorento is a little more buttoned down, a little less premium in the cabin but an excellent value alternative. I like the turbo in the Sorento a little better as well.
Narrower tires hurt maximum handling and braking, but help fuel economy due to lower rolling resistance. May add 1-2 MPG with 4 smaller tires on the road moving two tons.
Thanks Alex for such a detailed review on a new car. I was wondering how does Acura RDX compare to this. Also the rear visibility seems poor in this because of the design. What was ur experience? Also do u factor in the visibility when u rate the exterior design?
I like the new Murano's looks, especially the side profile. Nice review, Alex. This model has the 20-inch wheels, doesn't it? Have you had a chance to drive a model with the smaller wheels to judge whether the 20-inchers adversely affect the Murano's ride? On another note, I noticed your upcoming vehicles review list includes the "2015 GMC Colorado." Is it the GMC Canyon you'll be reviewing or the Chevy Colorado? Plus, are you going to get a chance to review the new Jeep Renegade in the next couple months (hopefully not just the Trailhawk version)?
Would like to have seen a night time drive to see how good the LED headlights are. Also with push button start, how do you put the ignition into Accessory Mode so you can listen to radio, use windows, ect? Thanks
Alex, what are your thoughts on this vs. the Lexus RX350? I've always thought that was the closer matchup in Toyota's lineup given the poor reviews on the Venza. They seem to have similar demographical targets and similar power. I took a quick look at the pricing and I think the Murano tops out right where the RX would start and has better MPG. Does this really undercut the current RX350?
I'd buy the Murano over the RX. The Murano lacks the real wood trim of the Lexus and the brand, but other than that the Nissan compares very well. It's about as fast, gets better fuel economy, has similar features available and is less expensive by a decent amount.
Nice review Alex, but point of correction this Murano doesn't compete with santafe sports or santafe, but rather compete with VW tuareg, jeep or Ford edge.
Does nissan aim for their ride of the car to be same as ”luxury” or step above in the segment? Wonder if it has aluminum parts like hood or suspension. I had a dream (or nightmare?) a while back that I was driving the convertible lol
Alex on Autos, the only place where a gallon of milk is a unit of storage capacity, but now it’s also accommodated by a box of cereal lmfao. I love this channel ahah
Also to note, it’s not possible to get the same mpg with a front wheel drive versus all wheel drive vehicle. Nissan has corrected this in your 2018 models. It’s impossible to get the same fuel ratings with the same engine and drivetrain but you’re adding weight and drag with the all-wheel-drive system. They had to fix that or they would’ve had another class action lawsuit on their hands. They’ve already had a class action lawsuit over the CVT transmission
Awesome review like always. is this recorded in CA? it looks really beautiful place, does it snow up there? my wife and I are looking to move to a mountainous area. thanks
I've seen some Compact SUV's with more maximum cargo space case in point the Nissan Rogue's 70 cubic feet seats folded barely beats the larger Murano's (69.9 cu ft.) and the Scion xB has exactly the same cargo space with seats folded and that car's about 20-25 inches shorter, wonder why?
Doesnt this compete with Dodge Journey and Mitsubishi Outlander? Because the Murano's dimensions' are very similar with these two, and the only difference is these two have 3rd row but if you fold them, they are very similar.
I didn't notice whether or not you mention anything about rear visibility or overall visibility in the vehicle. Could you comment on that for me compared to its competition.
I hope to pull the trigger on one these in a few weeks, SX trim, red exterior, cashmere interior. Debating whether to spend the extra for the moon roof....
Your videos are thorough and informative. Would you pay for that platinum Murano or a mid/upper trim Volvo XC60 T-5 drive E, even if meant spending $2-3K more for the Volvo? Why? Thanks
You are the best Alex. That's for sure. I would appreciate it if you measured noise level at 70 mph. It is more represensative of real life Hwy driving. Also, I went thru this review twice but could not find a ride score. Could you please tell? Thx
The Murano has probably the best ride in the segment. The slightly narrower tires and the softer springs really help out there even though this model had the 20 inch wheels.
I don't really like the table of contents of the right side - it makes the actual video smaller. I'd advise to at least make it appear intermittently or put it in the intro text.
You lost me at Nissan CVT. Back in 2018 I tried renting a car through Lyft via Hertz. I was initially given a Altima till a week later the transmission blew, I was then given another Altima and then a Rouge and both returned due to transmission issues. The Hertz rep said it was common, he then put me in a 2018 Corolla SE, I drove it till it reached its mileage limit, guessing it was for resale value. I didnt have a single issue with that Corolla and turned me into a toyota fan boy.

Alex- keep up the GREAT work. BY FAR, the best automotive channel online. Love your analysis!!!
Love this new Murano. It looks much better in person:) I bought SV version.
Did you get AWD? I got SV too and bought the platinum rims
The best review for the 2016 Murano online to date ! Congrats

Do you still love it? Have you had any issues?
Bang for the buck. Got my platinum for 2 years, still love it.
And you're finding it quite reliable? I'm looking at a pre owned platinum so I just want to check the longevity of these cars.
My dream Nissan SUV! Amazing job Alex.
Solid review, young man! I think this will be my next lease! The exterior is bold and "fashion-forward". Proof that concepts CAN become reality!
Time for you to start offering some AOA t-shirts and caps! : )
Wow. That interior trim material is beautiful.
Love your review Alex. You give the most detail review ever! Thank you.
I love the quality of your videos. I notice (and appreciate) your attention to detail!
What a great review! Thanks for the thoroughness.... I want one of these cars.
Wow great review. I had already bought before I saw this but after seeing your review , it will deliver what I looking for.
I feel this is nicer than a Lexus RX.
Yeah it is and rx is expensive
It is. By a long shot.
Five years later we still appreciate the 4K
Now, nine years.
GREAT review! We have a Platinum FWD on order right now -- can't wait to get it!

The best MURANO video yet!
A very impressive though almost overwhelming overview of the competitive landscape at the end.

Alex, do you recommend this car for road trips? Because I am obsessed with this current vehicle and I really want to own one. Thank you!
your the best at doing reviews keep it up
I think as far as design, I think the Edge looks better than the Murano, but the exterior/interior color combination of the Murano they sent you was awesome.
I agree Eliott!
You mentioned handling twice @13:01 and @15:32. Did you mean ride? Great review btw. Looking forward to review of some of the CUV's coming out soon.
Alex, the Murano "base model" is unique:

Base on most cars is industrail black, no nav. option, and extra cost for red paint!!.
Alex, does the Platinum trim comes with the front collision avoidance and predictive breaking or they optional items ? Keep up the good work.
This Nissan is elegant and modern in design, unlike its American competitors. very nice. Thanks for your very thorough and on-point review.
Andrea Marie Interior, yes; exterior, questionable.
The new 2015 Ford Edge is around the corner. It will be good to see how much they improved it. I like fluid designs like Murano and Lincoln MKZ they look very refine.

I think that the rear end height has more to do with styling than anything else.
I wish you can review everything we buy. You are a gifted reviewer.

seems like a very capable and luxurious mid sized suv.
Good review & great Nissan.

Thanks Alex for such a detailed review on a new car. I was wondering how does Acura RDX compare to this. Also the rear visibility seems poor in this because of the design. What was ur experience? Also do u factor in the visibility when u rate the exterior design?
Less then ideal of course, but with the blind spot monitoring system and all around camera it wasn't really a problem.

The 18 inch wheels do improve the ride but the Murano's ride is one of the best in the segment to start with.
great review!! keep up the good work!
I like this design. You can tell Nissan is starting to adapt. I'm still undecided on the Murano, Volvo XC60, and the newly announced RDX.
I feel like Nissan used 370z design lights and used it on other models.
Love your reviews!
Would like to have seen a night time drive to see how good the LED headlights are. Also with push button start, how do you put the ignition into Accessory Mode so you can listen to radio, use windows, ect? Thanks
Brian Connell You push the button without your foot on the brake pedal.

Your reviews are great and I follow them precisely but front seat not having 4 ways lumbar support shouldn't get 10/10 points. Just my thoughts.
its either this or the edge for my next ride when my current edge ends in january
Great review,Alex however table of of contents don't work (as well as the one on CR-V review). I'm using an older iPad perhaps that's the reason why?
That could be, I think its desktop only for the annotations as YT calls them.
Thank you so much! I had been trying to figure this out for a few days. 😊
Great Vid!! Again!
Please do review of the new pilot as soon as you can :)
Awesome review like always. is this recorded in CA? it looks really beautiful place, does it snow up there? my wife and I are looking to move to a mountainous area. thanks
Yes this is California, in the SF Bay Area. Snow is possible but rare like a dusting every 20 years.
Nissan always have beautiful interiors
I've seen some Compact SUV's with more maximum cargo space case in point the Nissan Rogue's 70 cubic feet seats folded barely beats the larger Murano's (69.9 cu ft.) and the Scion xB has exactly the same cargo space with seats folded and that car's about 20-25 inches shorter, wonder why?
towing capacity actually 1500 LBS not 3500 LBS like I had in the Venza. ordered platinum one yesterday)
Please do a review of the 2015 Range Rover lwb autobiography
How can I select the table of contents, not able to select from smartphone :/ . Great channel :)
I know why not use those tab links to the right of the video and just put them in the description so it would be more cleaner?
Doesnt this compete with Dodge Journey and Mitsubishi Outlander? Because the Murano's dimensions' are very similar with these two, and the only difference is these two have 3rd row but if you fold them, they are very similar.
I think of buying the used 15' Nissan Murano.
Hi Alex, do you plan to do a review on the 2015 subaru wrx?
I didn't notice whether or not you mention anything about rear visibility or overall visibility in the vehicle. Could you comment on that for me compared to its competition.
It is a little lower than the Jeep and Ford.
great design i like it
Can you plz review the nissan maxima and toyota avalon 2015 models?
Thanks for another great review!
Hi alex, when will you make a review of a new 2015 ford edge?
Soon I hope but I don't have specifics yet.
The power is down on other missdn vehicles with this same engine. Un the maxima this engine produces 300hpvs260hp in the murano. Whats up wit that?
I hope to pull the trigger on one these in a few weeks, SX trim, red exterior, cashmere interior. Debating whether to spend the extra for the moon roof....
batman144 You're a billionaire, get the moon roof BATMAN! It will help you see the Bat-Signal.
WuWei Xu As a matter of fact, I did.
batman144 Hopefully this car has helped you save the world. Too bad they didn't equip it with rockets.
Great review!
Pretty sure Alex the edge isn't available with the turbo 3.5. Do you mean the Explorer?
Did I say turbo 3.5? I meant turbo 2.7. The engines in the Edge are now the 2.0: turbo, 3.5L naturally aspirated and 2.7 twin turbo.
I didn't see a score rating for the ride quality, did I missed it?
S has LEDs too
Gonna get one from Carmax on Thursday
Your videos are thorough and informative. Would you pay for that platinum Murano or a mid/upper trim Volvo XC60 T-5 drive E, even if meant spending $2-3K more for the Volvo? Why? Thanks
Aaron Ross If it were me? Yes, but that is mainly because of the superior radar cruise control in the Volvo, City Safety and the crash test scores.
I know they just revealed the 2016 Honda Pilot, but do you have any idea when you can do a review on it?
I don't know when, but I hope soon.
Hi
Do you know if it is possible to replace side rear mirror on the SV model with the one we find on the SL and Platinum model (with camera).
looking spiffy alex
You are the best Alex. That's for sure.
I would appreciate it if you measured noise level at 70 mph. It is more represensative of real life Hwy driving.
Also, I went thru this review twice but could not find a ride score.
Could you please tell?
Thx
The Murano has probably the best ride in the segment. The slightly narrower tires and the softer springs really help out there even though this model had the 20 inch wheels.
I don't really like the table of contents of the right side - it makes the actual video smaller. I'd advise to at least make it appear intermittently or put it in the intro text.

excellent review. thank you
Is the interior ambient lighting standard on the SL? If not, is it an option that could be purchased?
MissPurplePotato In Canada, ambient lighting is standard on the SL and Platinum trim level. I would expect the same for the US version
*THANKS FOR THE REVIEW ~ HOW ABOUT THE **-HUD-** IT'S AVAILABLE OR NOT ?*
Heads up display? No, there is not one for the Murano.
Thank you so much!!! Great looking car!
