@@skylers9804OMFG I forgot about that, that's right it WAS a thing but not for long and by the time I found out about it and played it once. It was only me servers were beyond dead when I got my hands on it que'd up on a map and that was the last time I ever played that mode again. Then I just got good at the story mode, became a loot goblin and was rewarded that invisibility thing for being a good rat in the first game. Bioshock 2 Minerva's Den was my favorite at the time. I had a very good friend that let me borrow his copy of the games and all the DLC for them. I got to Infinite by 2013 graduation Highschool the same year, what a good summer that shit was. Getting drunk, smoking weed and playing vidja games on the assbox 360. That was when Halo Reach was still relevant and Bungie made their last Halo game, 343 was up and coming with Halo 4. Damn man. I'm turning 30 next month and I was a young teenager when all that went down.

Everytime I watch a Rye 'dead games' video, I feel a certain sense of melancholy for most of these so called 'dead games'. Like you know they had a larger community and fanbase when it was released, but the community just slowly bled off throughout the years and now only a small loyal handful remains. There's something sad about that to me.

"Window" shopping with a shotty and snipey. It felt like a weight had been lifted from the game, gatekeepers left so they actual normies can play a video game for once without all the sweaty people with no lives. Yes, there are still "We like Fortnite" kids in it but they tend to sound better when they are getting their in-game ass cheeks clapped than when they start in with that "Based/Cringe" two-word dialogue crap they all have. You had to go through "training" in order to play a certain class whether it was Medic/Sniper. Game modes were a blast. Decent selection of maps. I played Dirty Bomb for a bit about a year ago and it was a lot of fun. It is a unique game (hence the dedicated playerbase) while also offering a bit of something for all types of players. It made me genuinely sad to know that the game was abandoned when I realized how much fun I was having in it; could see it becoming my main game for a bit if it wasn't dead.

Warmode mentioned! omg I used to play that game a ton, years ago. Even back then the game was always considered crappy, but it had a charm that other, better fps games lacked haha

I learned about America’s Army after I had already signed my papers. My recruiter gave me a copy that allowed me to make an account with the little service member identifier beside my name.
This was way back at the end of 2002. I had some fun with it. It was kind of jank, but not bad.

American army proving grounds used to be so fun, once the main community servers stopped a lot of the main players I knew stopped their servers. I was a part of a close community that would join these other bigger ones to play against. Very fun

You should check out Skylords reborn it was a old EA game remade by the community. at most around 50-80ish players on at once. People mostly only play 1 mode and its a small nice community. Peek hours are 15:00 - 22:00

I remember looking up the exam questions online because my english wasnt very good back then, but i really wanted to play as a medic, so i had to pass.
Cuisine Royale also looks exactly how Enlisted looks like now.

Aw man I remember Dirty Bomb. I used to be a hardcore Phantom main (invis guy) and always played like an assassin. I played before and during the golden era, but dropped it when it ended.
People left and those that remained were just too good, and the lack of balancing shifted all the games into one sided slaughterfests. I started to resent the game for that and stopped playing completely in 2021

On cuisine royale, I remember a broken glitch that pretty much gave you aimbot when on a mounted MG. One of my best gaming memories.

Hey rye, i just wanted to comment on the Dirty Bomb portion.
The server with the train (which is a scripted event that occurs after point 2 is taken) continuously barging through, the higher player count than 8v8, and so on has been responsible for driving a lot of the playerbase away, some with bans, exploiting things such as those scripted events, and finally the player numbers on steam. At the time of writing this majority of their servers have been taken offline thanks to your video, after months of the community speaking out against this. I'm sure you saw alot of this in the subreddit. This wasn't the best representation of the game, but i'm glad you covered it and finally helped the communities vitriol fiascos surrounding this game. The game itself means alot to the community, and actual player count has been at a better point than (what im estimating) was the time of recording. PUGs are back up, new players are confused less and less, and many veterans are returning making this an overall enjoyable experience for a lot of us. I knew eventually you'd cover this game, but wasn't sure how soon. Just wanted to say Thanks. Long live Dirty Bomb

Hey Rye, just wanted to give a suggestion for your next video's dead games. Definitely check out Dirty Bomb it's an FPS that over time has still got a little community, but definitely hasn't reached it's potential. The game IMO honestly is one of the most underrated FPS games there is.

Glad to see Dirty Bomb get a mention. As you said, its a childhood game for a lot, it was for me, and roblox. I've clocked in 1300 horus in the game, and for a teenager with very limited screen time and school, that could've been 10,000 hours compared to my world today. Dirty Bomb was an amazing game, with a good community, and developers. The developers were interactive to the community, you could see them playing the game. It still is my favorite game despite, at most 50 players playing the game at a time. But its a game so heartfelt to me, that I think only the game coming to 0 players would stop me from playing it. A game never dies if you never stop playing it, right?

I played just one game of Cuisine Royale back when it was still called that in early 2020, and then I deleted it and never played it again. Despite all that, four years and one relaunch later I still remember the desert map pretty well. I didn't think it was a bad game, I just didn't enjoy it that much.

You lasted that long? You put up with Valk getting Fragger's "bugged" AOE on the rocket? You dealt with Splash Damage firing Shoe via twitter? As far as I'm concerned, support stopped when they left Nexon and implemented more bugs than they fixed in their "Summer squash event". Broken game was broken.

@@TekedixXx Totally, with all the bugs, it was still a thrill to drop a well time air strike... But firing Shoe made me uninstall.
