I would like to thank you. You have no idea how long I have been struggling with trying to wind cord on that spool. I finally gave up and started buying expensive pre-loaded new spools. Seriously....Thank you.
simple and easy to follow.... the GreenWorks' trimmer from Amazon... paired with a blower like mine.... both use 40Volt lithium battery pack and the trimmer is identical to the Kobalt one! Note that some trimmers have 2 holes and not 1.... Mine has 2 holes and 2 line ends.
No, it’s not broken. Sometimes the string will get tangled. Open it back up and pull on the string. You should see where it is tight. Pull it loose. Then put it back together and try again. One rare occasion the velocity of the trimmer head will cause the string to tighten around itself, not allowing it to feed more string when bumped. I hope this makes sense and I hope it helped you. Thanks for watching my video. I appreciate it much.
I have a question related to the bump cap of the same trimmer you are changing the line. I re-string the line as you do, but when I begin to use the trimmer, it spins out several inches of line. I cannot find any information online regarding possibly replacing the bump cap as the trimmer acts as if the bump cap is depressed to release more line. Thanks for any assistance you can offer!
To make sure I understand you completely. When you bump it to release line. It is releasing too much line? If so, I plan on making a video tomorrow showing how to dissemble and reassemble the trimmer head. This should help with anyone looking to replace any parts.
@@rjguess That is correct. The trimmer will stop due to too much line. I have trimmed it off to check if that is an issue (it has not been an issue in the past). After doing this, more line runs out and I am back in the same situation. Thanks again!
If this is the first time you have changed your line. Try wrapping it a little tighter around the spool. Also, your razor that cuts the wire may not be sharp enough. You could try sharpening it with a file. Just follow the angle of the blade with a file until it feels sharp. If it’s not sharp enough to cut the excess line off when bumping it. It will stop the motor for safety reasons. I hope this helps you out.
@incith yes, I know. I want to make sure I get the correct information to you before I reply. Sorry for the delay. But I’m not near the trimmer. I may have to find this out tomorrow.
@incith I got the 12 in cutting swath. Here is a review video on the weed trimmer I did when I first bought it. Hopefully this gives you more information before you make a decision to buy it. But I seemed to not be able to tap the button and load more string. Do you think the head is broken?
