    Finally somebody explained this in a way I could understand. Great tips, too, on how to keep the already wound string from going "sproing".

    Thank you! Took looking through 20 videos to find someone with the same type of spool mine has. Helpful hint, make sure to wind the top one first so you can use the built in catch at the top. I did the bottom first before I realized what I did and had to unwind it and start over.

    I wanted something light weight and capable of cutting. This little string trimmer is just that ruclips.net/user/postUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG . The battery will last about half an hour. It cuts through most weeds and grass. I wanted to see what this trimmer could do and tried cutting down some brush. It does okay with light brush but heavy brush, not so much. This is a great tool for trimming around the yard. It's not great for clearing out brush but no one would expect it to be.Out of the box, this trimmer is extremely easy to use. All I had to do was attach the guard and load the battery.

    First time string line replacement on this exact model and your video was perfect!! Was tempted to buy the 3 pack of pre-wound spools for $20 out of fear of being unable to pull off re-stringing the spool properly. Thank you for the honest and realistic video and instructions. Now I will just buy the pack of line for $8 at Lowe's! GREAT WORK!

    Was looking for videos on replacing the entire head of this trimmer, watched your video, and realized I've been stringing it wrong all along. I loathe this auto-feed head. It's a terrible design and I was planning to buy a new trimmer. Your video just gave my trimmer a 2nd chance on life. Thanks!

      I'm about to take mine back because I didn't know it wasn't bump feed. This auto feed seems really dumb. Should I give it a try or just take it back and buy the bump feed model?

    CraftDaddy, your honest, unrehearsed style in dealing with this frustrating little problem was great. I like that you approached reloading that spool just like any of us yahoos would after not having done it for so long, and were recalling things as you went. Incredibly helpful - thank you SOOO much. You helped me regain my sanity.

    I just got one of these 10 days ago. I anticipated having trouble with the string, so I ended up buying the refills that come with a pre-wound spool. All I'll have to do is pop the old one out and pop the new one in. They're a little more expensive, but if they'll save me a bunch of aggravation, they're worth it!

  • @xeniapasin2708

  • @joemarchand8313
    @joemarchand8313 4 года назад +3

    Hey man, thanks for the tutorial. I made the mistake of loading the wrong side first. If you do that, you're screwing yourself for loading the other side, because when you lock the first line in place, you cannot effectively wind the second side, as the first line is "reached over" to the locking tab, blocking the winding process. Needed a second set of hands, but I got it.

    Rather than push the side button to release more string, I believe it's designed to release a little more string EVERY time it starts. Listen for the clicks when it first starts spinning. Sounds wasteful, but it's only a few mm at a time. Who cares? Reloading from a replacement spool is so much cheaper than buying the pre-loaded spools. Thanks for the demo.

    How do you prevent the line from binding to itself? I find that after a little use, the lines will get stuck and not advance out the holes. They seem to get bound up between wraps on the spool. I've tried wrapping tighter, looser, shorter, longer but it keeps happening. Any ideas? Thanks for the video BTW
