Clover really said it’s “cl-OVER for all of you…” But seriously as much as I hate killing all my favorite characters here just like in normal Undertale’s genocide, I love the differences between the route and the pacifist route. Especially on how the characters face Clover and how they handle the deaths of their peers and loved ones. My favorite being Martlet because while like Papyrus she does see good in Clover like how Papyrus still saw good in Frisk, but in like Papyrus, we see Martlet drop her kindness to attempt to stop Clovers rampage and she actually takes hits instead of dying in one hit. The team really did a good job on this and kinda mimicking how I’m sure some players felt when having to fight Undyne the undying and Sans
one thing is that almost all acts on normal enemy's change after they have switched to their damaged sprite, which normally leads to clover taunting them in some way.
For the different battle themes, they indicate when you're about to eliminate all the monsters. They slow down the fewer monsters there are left. For when the monsters appear injured, that's when you're able to spare them.
When there are 7 enemies left in a region you get the awesome song "enemies retreating" some believe this to be clovers theme since it also has a motif in several songs jn the soundtrack
Their theme is probably "Justice", the game over theme. (Which is a motif in many songs in the soundtrack). But i guess that "Ennemies retreating" could be considered to be Geno Clover's theme.
I didnt actually know that you could get Berdly's mom to attack you that early... thats insane. I always just kept attacking and STILL struggled a lot here
I mean it kinda would be true because in deltarune berdly kinda looks like martlet and Toby fox did say “We haven’t discovered a lot of the underground yet.
Nice to see some variants to battles. If you flat out attack on genocide, Martlet gets hit thrice before attacking you herself. By apologising first and then attacking you're making her aware you're actually guilty, and not just panic attacking her. Also, if Dalv is killed on Neutral route, you actually get to listen to the gramophone. And last but not least, even tho it results in a crash, Martlet has dialogue for when her HP drops to 0 (which can only be achieved via savefile editing to heavily increase your attack)
i had no idea you could skip the first few dialogues in martlets fight by apologizing, but i guess that just goes to show how polished this game is with small details like that!
I always do it cuz it seems more thematic. As if clover is apologizing for their actions but they cannot stop as it is in the name of justice so they attack. Yes I made it harder for myself but it seemed cooler yo

Funnily enough, it’s not possible to kill Martlet in the first fight. *However!* If you increased the weapon damage to infinity (or max damage that the game can handle) and then hit Martlet, her running out of health crashes the game
Yeah, she'll say some otherwise unused dialogue, and then the game crashes because it tries to call a cutscene that doesn't exist. The fight is actually tuned pretty specifically too so you have to fight her semi-legit no matter what, lol
You can kill her by swapping weapons mid fight actually because it throws off the tracker on how much damage you do but it'll crash because the game will think you cheated but you used an oversight on the dev to successfully kill her Early by using a very obscure mechanic
It's very cool how normally, it takes awhile for Marlet to understand why a child is attacking her. But a small "im sorry." beforehand and she understands what you're trying to do, and what she needs to do.
Frisk’s/Chara’s Genocide: haha imma kill all of you because I can and y e s Clover’s Genocide: I must deliver justice to these, who hurt and killed my lads and I will do whatever it takes to do so!
"Do I have to do the perfect final hit?" Fun fact, it's not supposed to be possible to kill Martlet since she'll retreat as soon as she sees that she'll die on the next hit. It can be done though, if you get her low enough with one of the other two ammo before swapping into the Ice Ammo mid-fight (or way easier if you do a little editing of some Attack values)... She has otherwise unused dialogue, then the game crashes.
I’ve actually never seen what you did with martlet there. I know that if you repeatedly apologize and don’t fight, then it can abort the genocide route. However, apologizing once and fighting is something I haven’t seen. If you immediately fight, she thinks you’re innocent until a couple hits. However, saying you’re sorry and then fighting immediately clues her into what you’re really doing. It’s like a betrayal kill that makes it a bit harder (by making it a couple turns longer).
Hey Merg, just wanted to say you can get the third golden item in the dunes if before going into the steamworks, you run back down to the guy with the explosives at the wall. You won't regret it later...
somehow I would feel worse for killing these monsters than those in actual Undertale. Maybe it's just that these ones are new while I've known Undertale's monsters for many years, but idk. Also the ending for this route is badass, just sayin ...I guess Toby Fox did not want to make his genocide route badass, quite the opposite: he wanted to make you suffer and feel awful. But hey, nothin wrong with what this fangame is doing, and it's one hell of a cool fangame 14:12 foreshadowing. Clearly a second playthrough smhmhmhmhmh 17:27 Who knew that the puzzle was the real hero all along, hardlocking Clover and saving the underground from genocide. (I guess Flowey can still reach his save so it's not perfect, if only such a puzzle existed when Frisk fell down) 24:26 Yeah, on the pacifist run she was hesitating, she's serious now. 27:08 Mom can we have sans gaster blaster spinning attack? No, we have sans gaster blaster spinning attack at home 29:27 Yeah by apologizing you kinda made it more difficult for yourself there 34:06 You're still on the genocide route yes 36:11 it's like the Ruin DLC for FNaF: Security Breach lol, you fall from great height multiple times with nothing to even slightly break your fall and then you stand up and continue like nothing ever happened Happy new year Merg
despite hating el bailador so much in the pacifist run (i found the controls to be clunky), killing him in genocide was genuinely making me sympathetic to him the fight was so easy and it felt so pathetic unlike pacifist that i just really felt bad making him bite the dust
Toby never stated his intentions with the design of genocide route, the whole "genocide is bad on purpose route" is nothing more than a headcanon the fandom keeps shoving down everyone's throats.
Yes! I was hoping you'd try the other routes! I know there are other let's plays and streams showing the whole genocide route already, but I was waiting to watch yours first because I like your commentary the most for these fan games~
I gotta say: the battle-damage sprites the monsters have are a really nice addition. It's a small thing, yet it's very effective. Makes you feel more guilty seeing them hurt before finishing them off altogether. And I think it's something Yellow did better than Undertale. That being said... That was fun. Let's finish the job. =)
I DIDN'T THINK HE WAS GONNA DO IT!!! I'm glad he does do it, though. There's so many cool things in this route and the fights are insane. I feel like it wouldn't have been complete without Merg doing the REVENGE ROUTE. Note: I call it the REVENGE route and not the JUSTICE route because REVENGE is a corrupted version of JUSTICE, and this certainly isn't JUSTICE.
@@maila319 Revenge is taking action and doing something because someone did something to you. Avenging someone is doing the same but because someone did something to another person.
As for why Insomnitot appeared despite no more encounters being available for that room, thats where you're scripted to encounter that monster for the first time. These scripted encounters exist as long as there's still enemies left in the area, but they'll disappear as soon as you kill all the necessary enemies. The same applies for the minibosses, Decibat and El Bailador instantly despawn the moment you get all the kills you need for the area
Rorrim, Bowll, and the Flower Girls also work this way despite exclusively being scripted encounters. I find it pretty interesting considering in Undertale Shyren is encountered regardless of whether or not you’ve exhausted the kill counter.
Okay, but look: Clover kills exclusively the monsters that attack them. Any monsters that don't want to fight are left alone. The only exception to this is Martlet, but she tried to lead you away from the path, and even then you don't kill her when you could. You see her again, and even then you just threaten her to get out of your way. You can rob Mo, but money is useless anyway, so it's unnecessary and just letting him leave doesn't abort the route. To top it all off, Asgore, the king of monsters, strikes you first and only then do you Biden blast him.
@@mikemvl02 Clover is more Lawful Neutral I think. Right now they only kill monsters who attack them first, so the post guy and the bandmembers survive. Then Clover also stopped attacking Martlet when she surrendered. All Clover seems to want is justice for the five humans the monster killed, and are killing anyone who attacks them. The only thing that goes for more Lawful Evil then Lawful Neutral is stealing from the shopkeeper's place.
I love how Clover isn’t being possessed by Chara or something like that, but that he’s doing it solely for their own sense of justice for the dead humans
the reason the difficulty starts so much earlier in undertale yellow geno is because in undertale, papyrus didnt take his job seriously, whereas martlet actually realizes how much of an impact your actions have had and takes it upon herself to stop you
considering how he already died twice I'm less concerned about the final boss and more concerned about how he's gonna deal with the "Undyne" of this route.
His run *is* different. Clover's Genocide run has his head facing dead-ahead, whereas during pacifist or neutral his face turns left and right while he runs.
in the first 10 minutes in the game in the ruins after falling, toriel gets a rope and saves you after some time, AND after 5 minutes of leaving the ruins or leaving the room after 5 minutes she leaves the rope incase you come back.
People call this route genocide or no mercy but i think it should be called vengeance because clovers isnt driven becuase he wants to kill everybody its driven for vengeance you can call it no mercy justice that works too. that also explains why you can spare dalv without ruining the genocide run cause making him think that he was the reason that everybody died is twisted version justice.

I love the fact you can go for bully pacifist, just beat up stuff into surrendering
Martlet: "Why wont you back down. "
Clover: "Cuz i watch Nick eh 30."
"Be the hero you wanna be Dalv, you can end this, you can save the underground, you just need better aim"💀
35:12 Actually killing her crashes the game, your all good.
It's very cool how normally, it takes awhile for Marlet to understand why a child is attacking her.
But a small "im sorry." beforehand and she understands what you're trying to do, and what she needs to do.
Frisk’s/Chara’s Genocide: haha imma kill all of you because I can and y e s
Clover’s Genocide: I must deliver justice to these, who hurt and killed my lads and I will do whatever it takes to do so!
YES FINALLY! I have been stalking your channel to see when you would give a SHOT at the genocide route ;)
"Do I have to do the perfect final hit?"
Fun fact, it's not supposed to be possible to kill Martlet since she'll retreat as soon as she sees that she'll die on the next hit.
*stomp* you stomped the micro froggit, you feel dust thirsty.
somehow I would feel worse for killing these monsters than those in actual Undertale. Maybe it's just that these ones are new while I've known Undertale's monsters for many years, but idk.
Also the ending for this route is badass, just sayin
...I guess Toby Fox did not want to make his genocide route badass, quite the opposite: he wanted to make you suffer and feel awful. But hey, nothin wrong with what this fangame is doing, and it's one hell of a cool fangame
14:12 foreshadowing. Clearly a second playthrough smhmhmhmhmh
17:27 Who knew that the puzzle was the real hero all along, hardlocking Clover and saving the underground from genocide. (I guess Flowey can still reach his save so it's not perfect, if only such a puzzle existed when Frisk fell down)
24:26 Yeah, on the pacifist run she was hesitating, she's serious now.
27:08 Mom can we have sans gaster blaster spinning attack?
No, we have sans gaster blaster spinning attack at home
29:27 Yeah by apologizing you kinda made it more difficult for yourself there
34:06 You're still on the genocide route yes
36:11 it's like the Ruin DLC for FNaF: Security Breach lol, you fall from great height multiple times with nothing to even slightly break your fall and then you stand up and continue like nothing ever happened
Happy new year Merg
despite hating el bailador so much in the pacifist run (i found the controls to be clunky), killing him in genocide was genuinely making me sympathetic to him
the fight was so easy and it felt so pathetic unlike pacifist that i just really felt bad making him bite the dust
Not revenge, vengeance is more fitting instead.
What's the difference between revenge and vengeance though? @@privcommenting
Justice in this case is purely subjective though.
@@maila319 Revenge is taking action and doing something because someone did something to you. Avenging someone is doing the same but because someone did something to another person.
Would be more accuarate to call it judgement like flowey said.
Some christmas justice, thanks for the video big man❤
Everybody went Gangsta when Merg did Genocide in UnderTale Yellow.
Also, Happy New Year, Merg! 😊😊😊
probably my fav route because of how justified it feels but how grim it is ❤
I just wanna add a tip that since you can't do the frisk dance, you can just hold the right arrow key and spam the left to do a clover dance 🎉
CLOVERRRRRRR BLASTTTTTTTTTTTTT
Lawful Evil character. ^^"
I was waiting soo long for this.. thanks man
I love how Clover isn’t being possessed by Chara or something like that, but that he’s doing it solely for their own sense of justice for the dead humans
This is basically the justice route, for the humans before him.
Vengeance is a better term.

merg's confusion at the game over screen is how i realized he didnt die a single time on his first playthrough
the reason the difficulty starts so much earlier in undertale yellow geno is because in undertale, papyrus didnt take his job seriously, whereas martlet actually realizes how much of an impact your actions have had and takes it upon herself to stop you
he protec, he attack but most importantly...
*YOU ARE OVERCOME WITH JUSTICE*
Merg acts like he doesn’t actually want to kill monsters in the genocide route and hate people to the point of death in the pacifist route
Merg, if you'd apologized 2 more times she'd actually spared you. The more you know *giggle*
Can’t wait to see how much merg will struggle on the final boss of genocide.
Then do a no hit thw next day
I gave up.
i’m still trying to beat it
spoiler:
btw, don’t they kinda look like Jaiden animations as martlet?
considering how he already died twice I'm less concerned about the final boss and more concerned about how he's gonna deal with the "Undyne" of this route.
@@Voidbear_FNaF_and_Undertalethe undyne is ceroba?
His run *is* different. Clover's Genocide run has his head facing dead-ahead, whereas during pacifist or neutral his face turns left and right while he runs.
Merg! Thanks for making all of these amazing videos. You're commentary (?) has been really fun to watch! ALSO HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR!
3:28 If I remember correctly, at least in the demo, if you kill the Flier first Penilla says "I wanted them gone, but not like that!"
It’s the same in the full game
You know what song would be perfect for a UT Yellow Genocide run?
Pumped up kicks.
18:33 It's a scripted encounter.
There's no escaping it.
OH MY GOODNESS GRACIOSU!!!! THANK YOU FOR FINALLY UPLOAD GUN ROUTE!!!!
Finally! Da cherry dude with the genocide of Undertale Yellow.
This will be a treat... heh...
I enjoyed the comically poorly pasted red rectangles pasted on Clover in the thumbnail.
"So they took some of my Hp, so i started blasting, Bang!"
-Clover
It took me a few tries to notice Flowey at the bottom of the screen at 35:35
FINALLY! a good new year gift.
Hell yeah i was waiting for this route!
17:16 “HUNT THE BIRD I NEED CHICKEN NUGGETS”
“Oh because um justice yeah.”
-Clover 20XX
Been waiting for this one for a while, a hitless video would be absolutely insane for those who know
in the first 10 minutes in the game in the ruins after falling, toriel gets a rope and saves you after some time, AND after 5 minutes of leaving the ruins or leaving the room after 5 minutes she leaves the rope incase you come back.
Hey merg when ibwas fighting marlet
If you had to press the word apology more than once, then something would happen
Oh god undertale yellow guilt trips u out of genocide a lot harder then normal one or feels like it
Hi im clover get ready to clean up dead and weakened monsters with new kitchen gun!
Happy Damn New Year Merg!🎉
People call this route genocide or no mercy but i think it should be called vengeance because clovers isnt driven becuase he wants to kill everybody its driven for vengeance you can call it no mercy justice that works too. that also explains why you can spare dalv without ruining the genocide run cause making him think that he was the reason that everybody died is twisted version justice.
People may call it evil or heartless.
I call it JUSTICE.
FINALLY Merg is giving fighting a try
Here we go a justice delivered from those who are fallen...
the special music shows that it starts the end of the monsters of the area, once they are all dead, mini bosses WONT spawn anymore, and nobody came.
i haven't been keeping up with anything undertale for a while. then i heard undertale yellow finally came out - right when i don't have time to actually play it. needless to say, ill be enjoying watching merg do the hard work for all of us
Clover do be showing the monsters their big shot 😳
Can I show you my big shot 😏
Clover is about to Biden blast all of them.
Enemy Retreating is a jam bro, so good!
