I am so sick of people using their bad childhood as an excuse for their own criminal acts. Lots of severely abused people have grown up to be great parents.
I worked in prisons for 16 years. The inmates will be waiting for her and she will have hell to pay. How will the inmates know she is coming? Prison officers will tell them.
I can't imagine being a lawyer and having the job of defending such and evil, disgusting monster.

My wife was sexually abused at age 5&6 and then at 14 was kidnapped and raped by a serial rapist, she grew up pretty damn good and has such a kind Heart. She’s the Mother of my 6 children and I couldn’t ask for a better mom.
I don't believe I've ever heard a judge deliver a closing log with so much compassion and adoration for the victim.
She is so concerned about correcting her education.. like wtf. A murderer is a murderer! She had one job. To love and protect HER child! She committed the worse crime imaginable..
I was severely abused as a child and if anything it showed me what not to be to my children. It is NO EXCUSE!!!
I’m glad that my dad who was severely abused physically and sexually as a child didn’t grow up and starve and torture me. I’m so sick of people using that as an excuse. You’re supposed to RISE ABOVE YOUR RAISING.
Timothy had no friends to come speak for him. He wasn't allowed to leave his house to meet anyone. He didn't have school to escape the hell they live with... like many kids do. He was trapped... with a monster. I'm SO relievead the judge sees her for who she is! Thank God.
Thank you prosecutors and judge for standing for this young boy that had no one else. His life mattered and you gave him dignity.
She should have to also be sentenced to only eat that hot sauce for life that she fed her starving son.
This judge is exactly right! She didn’t want him to die because her fun would be over. Definitely up there with the worst cases ever.

Go easy on Johnson- he is doing his job and society a favor- if he did NOT argue for her at sentencing she could claim ineffective counsel. A retrial would have been a travesty in this case.
The defense attorney appears almost happy. I wonder if he was relieved that this horrible trial is over
