My focus with a 2.0L turbo with 250 crank hp cant carry more than 700lbs of passenger. I guess its hard to remember diesel trucks arent built from the factory for racing/speed 🤷♂️

When you are drag racing and sled pulling, you don't care about smoke or efficiency, and longevity is a bonus. Two completely different sets of goals. Red head box, better tierods , blah blah blah. I haven’t driven a 3rd or 4th gen that drove better than my dialed in setup lmfao, I love my 98-02 2nd gen leather/woodgrain interior. I own a 5.9 3rd gen woodgrain leather laramie as well, love them both, have plans for this truck too, in fact its the reason I want a commonrail in my og 2g. Im a technician at Permian Machinery Movers here in Texas, I don’t even daily a truck anymore. Jetta tdi ftw I already got the schematics and wiring pin tools, etc, a whole parts truck 06 ecm and harness etc, just need a 6.7 block. I’ll be posting on my insta and channel soon

I actually have both a cummins and a 7.3 and I enjoy watching you guys trying to crush records keep up the good work.
As someone that has supplied engine parts for the Scheid and Haisley trucks and have seen 2900+hp on an engine dyno from a single turbo deck plated 6.7 on fuel only I think 2000whp is an attainable goal. Keep after it Josh!

Great video guys. I am not a diesel guy now, grew up on diesel farm equipment. Love your take on things & how you are making power. Huge difference in power for competition sake (primarily) and street (EPA) purposes. Finally, GM still OWEs the American Taxpayer for their failure to fully pay back their bailout.

It's about time someone calls out Gale, and yes in one of his videos that durmax does smoke a lot on the start of the pull. You can see the smoke escaping from the exhaust pipe joint and then the camera angle cuts. Great videos keep them coming!
Basically this is a very well planned designed and built truck with a lot of money time and effort put into with professional diesel techs putting forth a world of knowledge into. But when you push the limits stuff can and will go wrong. We should all just admire these guys and what they accomplish with their builds. The fact is most of us won't know what it's like to make 1000 rwhp much less 2000. Respect to everyone keep pushing the boundaries 👍🏁🇺🇲

Gale is definitely intercooling that damn Duramax and he's running it to 3400 rpm and then applying the water brake to measure the horsepower. Completely different from what you normally see in a dyno session and like comparing apples and oranges to what PDD and Josh are doing.
What I don't think some people understand is the difference between jackasses blowing black smoke all over the highway while making 400hp and PDD blowing black smoke pushing well over 1200hp and usually much more. Now you will absolutely shorten the life of your diesel if you are blowing a ton of black smoke in your street truck without a fair bit of modifications. Also Gale is right that if you were to burn all that fuel you would produce more horsepower. The problem is creating enough boost to burn all the fuel without sending rods out of the block.
MPa is Mega pascals. For those who are curious a pascal is equal to a newton per square meter or about 0.000145 PSI or 9.9x10^-6 atmospheres. Knowledge is power :)

I’m a duramax guy and everyone is so high on the fact he made 1000hp but you see how low the tq was and he also loads it at a set rpm he doesn’t start from one set rpm and then full throttle with the load on it.
I just finished my 24v, Poverty pumped😂😂 compound turbskis. Trans slipped at 40 psi to instant 80psi before pulled up on it. Just ordered my AFC live system. Love cummins.

Compared to the older cummins commonrail engine the L5P is a drastically different in terms of fuel injection and monitoring, as you said about it being more modern. I suppose the piezo- style injectors are a major contributor to less smoke since they´re so much faster than the solenoid injectors thus allowing more injections per cycle and with less quantity more often allowing more precise control of air fuel mixture.
Gale, owner of Banks Power, with lots of knowledge about engines and efficiency. Spits out words that most don’t understand, leaves out varieties of factors in his educational videos, but people take it as gospel anyway, because thats all they see. IMO hes a good guy really smart and he has definitely capitalized well in the diesel industry. Just people get on their knees for him too quickly🧢
People that watch the channel, know Josh has his shit together, we've seen him race we've seen him win many events. The block broke at rookie #s we know it's not his fault. Maybe he should have thought twice when he felt that head bolt stretch/ move more than the others, but he was definitely invested.

You guys are giving too much credit to some of these negative commenters. You’re explaining the age of the common rail computer and the size of your injectors. You are obviously wasting your time. Their ignorance of all things diesel performance is much too overwhelming for you to beat with real knowledge. You’ll never win that battle. They may not even be stupid either, just truly ignorant(lacking in knowledge) about diesel performance. There are many subjects that I and probably you guys are ignorant of as well, but the difference in us and them is we have the common sense to keep our mouth shut about those subjects. Those guys start quoting Gail Banks in a video/discussion about making 2,000hp to the tire. That alone is proof of their complete ignorance of the subject at hand. I’m a duramax guy and everyone is so high on the fact he made 1000hp but you see how low the tq was and he also loads it at a set rpm he doesn’t start from one set rpm and then full throttle with the load on it.
I just finished my 24v, Poverty pumped😂😂 compound turbskis. Trans slipped at 40 psi to instant 80psi before pulled up on it. Just ordered my AFC live system. Love cummins.

Compared to the older cummins commonrail engine the L5P is a drastically different in terms of fuel injection and monitoring, as you said about it being more modern. I suppose the piezo- style injectors are a major contributor to less smoke since they´re so much faster than the solenoid injectors thus allowing more injections per cycle and with less quantity more often allowing more precise control of air fuel mixture.

Spits out words that most don’t understand, leaves out varieties of factors in his educational videos, but people take it as gospel anyway, because thats all they see. IMO hes a good guy really smart and he has definitely capitalized well in the diesel industry. Just people get on their knees for him too quickly🧢

People that watch the channel, know Josh has his shit together, we've seen him race we've seen him win many events. The block broke at rookie #s we know it's not his fault. Maybe he should have thought twice when he felt that head bolt stretch/ move more than the others, but he was definitely invested.

All of a sudden all the diesel experts show up like like strangers at a funeral claiming the deceased owed them money. I've got buddies with both powerstrokes and duramax's and none of them stayed with their choices very long. The ones that did have lived long happy life's in the right lane. At times the pursuit of more power is a curse, a driving force fed by a dream for a brief moment of excitement. I commend you guys at POWER DRIVEN DIESEL as I myself would be flat broke being around guys like you with ideas and dreams like that, financially I couldn't do it. Keep doing what you guys do and for the record Gail Banks tho educated in the diesel field is like watching paint dry. All you banks fans out there tell me, whens the last time you watched his videos, got excited and ran out to buy the part cause you just knew it was gonna get that turd really screaming down the on ramp placing yourself ahead of the people who would normally flip you the bird for impeding traffic? I will say, Gale Doesn't go for the power numbers a lot of people do, but he does it for more than just a Number on a Dyno, I mean they Don't go handing Multi million dollar Military contracts to anyone. Now to be clear, I am not Bashing or talking trash to anyone in the diesel world, Everyone has their niche in the market. Gale just happens to have a bigger Niche in the market than most of these Companies. And is not set on just making the most Power possible, He is and always has been a Reliability over power guy most of his life. And there is nothing wrong with that. Just like there is nothing wrong with chucking #5 piston through both sides of the block due to a potential Mechanical failure trying to make 2k HP

If a V8 diesel worked they would be in the class 8 trucks. Cummins had one in the 70s. V and VT 903 ( non-turbo, turbo ) .
They are , second strongest class 8 production truck engine in the world. Cylinder configuration means nothing.

You guys are giving too much credit to some of these negative commenters. You’re explaining the age of the common rail computer and the size of your injectors. You are obviously wasting your time. Their ignorance of all things diesel performance is much too overwhelming for you to beat with real knowledge. You’ll never win that battle. They may not even be stupid either, just truly ignorant(lacking in knowledge) about diesel performance. There are many subjects that I and probably you guys are ignorant of as well, but the difference in us and them is we have the common sense to keep our mouth shut about those subjects. Those guys start quoting Gail Banks in a video/discussion about making 2,000hp to the tire. That alone is proof of their complete ignorance of the subject at hand. Gail Banks has a wealth of knowledge about performance, even street/emissions diesel performance, but he doesn’t discuss anything related to the current upper limits of diesel performance on his channel. Either way, I love the content on this channel, particularly Josh’s journey to 2K hp. Keep up the good work.
