To celebrate the ‘Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts’ and remember the late, great Alan Rickman, I thought what better way to say 'hello' to the New Year than to revisit a potions class with everyone’s favourite/most-feared professor, Severus Snape. It’s essentially a Snape x Listener roleplay with a potions lesson followed by personal support and comfort from the man himself.
It’s definitely not my best video… my performance was up and down because I’ve been unwell, I kept forgetting words, spells, and ancient Greek, and my wig was determined to become sentient and leave my head entirely along with some errant dry skin and makeup, but I hope at the very least it’s enough to get your Harry Potter ASMR roleplay fix and bring you a little comfort and a few tingles after your New Year’s celebrations.
In the video, you awaken from a daze about halfway through an advanced potion class where you are learning about poisons and antidotes. There’s lots of delicate sounds and slowly… described… instructions… about how to make the potions, as well an ‘after school special’ moment with Snape, who has been concerned about your wellbeing and wants to offer support - in the only way he knows how. Anyway, here’s to a wonderful 2022 and I hope you enjoy the video!

🎙 What is ASMR? 🎧
ASMR (autonomous sensory meridian response) is synaesthesia of the soul. It’s a relaxing feeling, it’s a tingling down the spine, or it’s simply a sleep aid. Whether it’s being ‘held’ by someone you have confidence in, or ‘looked after’ by someone with authority, or just feeling ‘safe’ with someone you trust, it uses audio-visual triggers to enable you to let go of your worries and stresses - even just for a bit.
📽 What is FPC? 🎞
FPC (first person cinema) takes all the relaxing elements of ASMR but has much more of a focus on immersion and the suspension of disbelief. It’s kinda like being the main character in your own short movie, with popular figures you know and love, or entirely created worlds - just for you. There won’t be any visible mics or traditional triggers in these videos, and they will seem more unintentional than the usual ASMR videos - but they are unique and relaxing experiences designed to transport you to different places, worlds, and times.

A comforting Snape makes me think if there was a world where he survived the last battle and after all the dust was settled he and Harry found time to discuss everything and find closure. Makes you think what they would say to each other if they had the chance after Harry found out the truth.
He should have become his Guardian and Parental Figure! : (
Snape really had put a stopper on death with a well placed anti venom and healing potion tucked inside his robe pocket, he was no fool. There was a time and place Harry and Snape would meet and talk. After their chat, they sat in silence trying to comprehend it all. 'you are the bravest man I have ever met.' Harry quietly remarked. Eventually, Harry stood and approached the hero opposite him. Snape watched as Harry got closer, he noticed Harry's eyes, lily's eyes, brimming with pride, admiration, appreciation, forgiveness and gratitude. Snape felt for the first time what he remembered to be happiness. He stood to tower over Harry and unexpectedly embraced him into a fatherly hug. Snape was proud to call Harry a life long friend, especially after all they had been through and especially the moment he found out what Harry was to call his first born.

@@vladaburlakova1529 perhaps he considered himself his worst enemy. He would turn the spell on James and then himself. ( I don't know if he made the spell prior to James saving his life or not) I suspect he made it during the height of the bullying he received
Uploaded just after the release of the Anniversary Special. Alan may not be with us today but through people like Jim, he lives on.

This is a seriously impressive portrayal of Severus Snape, dude. His voice is difficult to emulate the way you've done here, authentic Snape dialogue and perfect execution. I'm beyond impressed. Beautiful work, my goodness Jim!

I think the fact that you felt unwell really added to this roleplay. I can imagine our professor not being so focused himself, since something sits on his mind. In fact, WE are on his mind...

He let a bad life experience (where he was at fault too, he insulted lily) decide his whole life.
Snape let his anger and frustration out on others.
He became emotionally numb and killed his own feelings.
In the end, he even sacrifices himself, for a broken dream, for something he could never have.
He wasn't a good guy, neither only bad.
He didn't sacrifice himself for harry, not for Dumbledore, not for the goodness of his heart.
In a sense, he never faced his trauma and was extremely childish.
Never grew past his love for Lily.
So I am really interested, on how his story helps you?
