for the indomie, i seperate each packet, and then use my fingers to push all of the sauces down to the very bottom. i cut at the top when there's like no sauce at the top and it saves a lot of mess. i hope that makes sense!
i also like to put the packet on top of the hot water kettle or someplace warm while i'm cooking the noodles so that the oil can melt and it's easier to manipulate ^^
I have air fried the kimchi rice in a couple of ways. Doing it straight out of the freezer ended up with no cheese pull and crunchy rice. Microwaving for 90 seconds and then air frying for a couple of minutes on each side ended up with a fantastic cheese pull along with perfectly toasty and slightly crispy rice. Strongly recommend.
For the indomie packets, I separate the oil packet and put it in the freezer while I boil my noodles. It’ll be solid by the time your noodles is done and the oil will slide right off the packet!
Literally everything I've tried from Bibigo is solid. My local grocer started stocking this Bibigo crunchy sweet and spicy chicken and it's so insanely good. It's honestly better than any Asian restaurant I've eaten at.
@@bb4251Not that I'm aware of. I would love to go to an authentic Korean restaurant. Not sure if we have anything like that in the city, definitely not nearby.
The Mila soup dumplings are legit! They used to be called Xiao Chi Jie after their restaurant in Bellevue (just across the lake from Seattle). They changed the frozen dumpling brand to Mila to differentiate their two enterprises. We have a monthly subscription to their soup dumplings. They’re just as good as Din Tai Fung.
Hi Mei! I usually like to push my Indomie sauces to one side, leaving a small gap on the other side pretty clean, and then you can cut that clean gap with a scissor right away. Sometimes, my sister and I also like to put the Indomie oil packet in our freezer for a very short time as we wait for the noodles to cook. That way, the oil will be temporarily solidified, making it easier and way cleaner to push out once you cut the packet, and it will just melt right back down as you mix the cooked noodles. We usually do that freezer hack for the soup kind of Indomie (this kind comes with dry seasoning packets and a packet of the Indomie oil), I don't think we have tried to freeze the sauces for the fried kind, but it wouldn't hurt to try! And I hope this helps!
Interesting! I actually do the opposite with the oil packet and warm it up with my palms because I don’t like how it’s semi-solid at room temp - I feel like if it’s cold it’ll stick more to the plastic and you don’t get as much out of it. But I’m admittedly anal about getting all the flavor I can and the freezer method sounds way less messy. I cut the sauces the same way, though I’ll add I hold it vertically with the side I’m about to cut facing up so gravity can do some of the work, squeeze them down so the top part is clean, then cut through. Only when it’s fully cut I turn it upside down and squeeze from top to bottom, kinda like toothpaste lol. Less mess and less waste!
For the Indomie noodles, grab one side of the see-through sauce packet and flick your wrist several times for the sauces to get pushed down towards the other side of the packet. This will create an air pocket for all three sauces towards the top where your hand is, so it is easier to cut with scissors.
Hey! I'm a subscriber from Indonesia, since Indomie is a popular food in Indonesia, there's no hack actually for the seasoning packet. Just a quick tip. Before you slice it open, give the packet a little squish to make everything slide down. That way, when you cut it, there's some room left, so you don't lose any of that tasty seasoning. Easy peasy!
For IndoMei, drop the seasoning packets into the cooking noodles for like 10 seconds to loosen up the ingredients, then pull them out with chopsticks. Then squeeze all contents to the bottom of the packet and cut the top, holding the packets upright so they don't spill out. Then quickly squeeze out seasoning into a bowl.
For the indomei noodle sauce packs, I cut them to all be individual, and then push all of the sauce part down as far as I can and then cut each little pack on it's own. It's makes a little bit less of a mess that way.
My mom and I tried the kimchi rice balls and they were super spicy to me. I would recommend sprinkling them with some mozzarella cheese before you microwave them so they will be less spicy and have more cheese!
I fold the packets straight down the middle, crease to push it away from that mark a bit, cut at the crease so I have less squeezing to do or, …push back contents with your finger to one end, cut that end and squeeze what you can out and then use a spoon to drip a little hot water in to get it all out…it’s tasty enough that a little water doesn’t really change it.
I buy authentic Asian noodle wonton soup at Walmart and it's one of my favorite dishes. I love authentic Asian. So I would die to try the tom Yum soup!
mi goreng is definitely addicting. I just tear the things individually after massaging it around a bit so that everything is mixed and just squeeze it out one by one. Wish they would just separate it so that we can squeeze it out individually because it does tend to make a mess sometimes. And I love rappokki. I haven't tried the Costco ones, but I remember a long time ago my friend's dad made it for us after school from scratch. It was my first time having it and I haven't stopped thinking about it since.
Thank you for reviewing the Asian food so we don’t have to buy everything ourselves!! LOL I’ve been so curious about all of these items so I love your videos! ❤
They actually have a lot! I’ve seen vegan pork fried rice, bulgogi fried rice, bulgogi & bibimbap flavored rice balls, Mandu, and some newer really good microwave steamed dumplings. I found these at Lotte. Actually some of those might be from the Plantspired line from Pulmone but they’re very good nonetheless!
I have had the meteor noodles, and I think the "meteor" is just what A-Sha calls that specific noodle shape. The ones at Costco tasted a bit like our local Asian grocery smells, in the best possible way, but I found that one packet was inadequate for a proper meal, even with add-ins like pickled vegetables or stir-fried meat. As for the "pad Thai" noodles: I've had those noodles in pho form (they sure look like the same noodles I remember), and my biggest impression was that they were inordinately hard to eat because the oil stuck so well to them. Ordinarily, I'd consider the oil clinging like that a feature, not a bug, but it made it inordinately hard to pick them up. (Maybe it'd be easier with chopsticks, but I have several joint problems with my hands that make it very difficult for me to use them, and I was always rather clumsy with chopsticks even before my hands got messed up.) I'll have to go back to that older video to see what your impression was.
Been eating indomie for almost 15 years. My favorite is the BBQ Chicken- I love it with a fried egg & green onions. If the seasoning packet is cold, then the oil solidifies making it a bit easier to get into your bowl. I have always just cut all at the same time. I will need to be on the lookout for the other items- shockingly, I’ve never been to a Costco (we never had any locations nearby) but soon plan to make the hour drive soon.
Indomie: Try to squeeze the sauce to the opposite side of where you will cut gently. Then when you are cutting, don't put pressure on the sauce because it pushes out as you hold it.
As someone of indonesian descent, it's actually so nice to see Indo food stuff becoming more accessible. Hopefully someday these stores will start to carry indofoods sambal so i dont have to keep asking my mom to bring it back when she goes home 😂
The indomie noodles taste so much better when you fry the noodles with the season packs and a little oil once you're done boiling and draining the noodles. I never use the whole pack of chili sauce. It really only needs half that amount. The sweet soy sauce is what makes it taste so good. I didn't even know sweet soy sauce was a thing before I tried them.
I put the pack of liquid seasoning/oil in a mug of warm water upright. Cut one end, no spillage. My daughters fav noodles. Wish we had some of these here in Canada.
ooooh my god I need to find the indomie box at my costco, they're my FAVORITE instant noodles! I find getting the oil packet cold (my house is always cold but the fridge works) helps with opening and not spilling, and squeezing it to one side with your fingers before cutting.
I feel like I can def make the kimchi cheese rice balls. My Costco does not have that many Asian selections but agreed, the rappokki is amazingly good and spicy. I love that the sauce is powder to start.
The Tom Yum soup is one of the best things I’ve gotten at Costco in awhile, I could eat it everyday. I added coconut milk to it to make it creamy. I agree with most of your assessments. Try the ribs, and agree there was a weird spice taste and when the ribs cooled it tasted chalky, would not buy again and kind of costly. The pad Thai I still have a lot in pantry, good for a quick lunch won’t buy again. The soup dumplings love have bought them several times. I dip mine in soy and chili sauce.
Indomie are super good with a fried egg❤ love your videos, you are just so genuine😊 I don’t share your hate for ginger, i’m super jealous cause we don’t have much of anything you show in your videos in the costco we have here, but seing you enjoy yourself is nice!
I am really interested in the soup dumplings and the indomie noodles. I did try the dim sum before and my thoughts were the same. However, Costco did for a brief time only sold the shrimp dumplings in a 40ct by that same company. Those were amazing and I wish they will bring those back.
What I do for Indomie noodles is I separate each pack and then place the oil pack inside the fridge so that it'll solidify to make it easier to come out and the oil defrost pretty quickly so you wouldn't have to worry about solid chunks of oil (the hot noodles will also melt the oil)
I've been ordering the Mila soup dumplings since they started selling them outside their store, back at the beginning of the pandemic. They would deliver my order, by hand, to my doorstep. and now I have moved and I order them online for shipping. They are expensive (the Costco price is a LOT cheaper than what I pay, but I didn't see how many were in the bag you got), but absolutely worth it. They are so delicious and so easy to make. The pork and shrimp are my very favorite and they are the one that I tend to order multiple bags of. Black Thunder is one of my more favorite chocolate bars, when I can find them. (I now live in a tiny town with no Asian grocery stores closer than 75 minutes away, and the closest of the stores that I know is 3 hours or more away.) I'm going to have to keep my eyes open for some of these the next time I'm at a Costco (the Costcos near me are not given to carrying a lot of Asian food, but there is some. I stockpile big jugs of kimchi, since there are only 2 places to get it here and the cost is hugely prohibitive. I love Rapokki, but honestly, I just make it from scratch, since I can control the flavors that way. And I always add a ton of veggies so it becomes a full meal.)
HEY MEI ILYSM!💕 For me when i eat mi goreng, i also got annoyed by losing alot of the sauce so now i just cut them into 3 of their own packets and pour each one individually. I know its going to take a while but its pretty worth it if you want more flavor 😅
I love the rapoki! It's a bit spicy for me, so I typically add another ramen pack (also makes it easier to share). Topped with cheese and hard boiled eggs, it doesn't last long in my house
I LOVE the indomie mi goreng noodles! I am eating them right now😂 for the packets i usually lay them on the edge of the bowl and use a fork to press al that deliciousness out😋
The Calbee Takoyaki ball is a corn puff with a seasoned coating. They should remind you of cheese puffs because they are the same thing, just changing the coating. Ironically, the puffed corn products like Cheetos and this are a byproduct of work done to produce livestock feed. The the corn mash slurry pressed through a small opening at high pressure causes the extruded mass to puff up. When it was found to be too low density for animal feed, someone thought about making it into a snack food.
I’m glad you tried the Asha meteor noodles. I seen those but was hesitant to try it. I tried one of their other noodles before and it was way too smoky for my liking and was scared to get a full box just to not like them!
Indomie is so good. Generally for cutting the package, I push everything down and cut opposite. I also make sure I cut at the side with the onion flavoring in the oil rather than the oil side. Cook a fried egg and eat with it. I'm definitely going to try the Bibigo rice balls. Thanks for the review of the Pad Thai because I was going to try it, but now I'll pass. I'll try the white rabbit ice cream as well!

It also helps to hold it at one end and flick it, or use the edge of the counter to squeegee it.
I do this too!
yeah, i usually do the flicking thing with powder seasonings!@@jordanlexton7354
i also like to put the packet on top of the hot water kettle or someplace warm while i'm cooking the noodles so that the oil can melt and it's easier to manipulate ^^
I feel like you could also roll it up and then cut it and squeeze them all out at once

I don’t have an air fryer. Would it make sense to microwave and then toast in the skillet like yaki onigiri?
Yes @@sevenandthelittlestmew

Great idea!
idk why i never thought of this before, this is genius!
Wow so smart 😮
That’s so smart! I came to the comments for the hacks because it’s one of my favorite instant noodles

do you not have a Korean fried chicken chain near you? Bbq chicken has even better chicken than bibigo chicken

Agree! They are SO GOOD! I order and have them shipped (I live in the Chicago suburbs)

You can order this from Costco? I live in eastern WA state and they definitely don’t have too many Asian products which is a shame.

Black Thuder chocolate cookie snacks are SOOOOOO amazing. My friend introduced them to me last year and legit so addictive.
