I LOVE those prawn hacao! I've bought them at least 4 times now 😂 I agree about the sauce, it's a strange flavor profile and I usually end up tossing it lol. I recommend dipping into a mixture of soy sauce, sugar, and chili crisp; it's my go-to dim sum dipping sauce and it's SO good with the hacao 😋

The Costco here in Seattle has so few Asian options. When I watch your videos I show my mom and she keeps saying that they don't have it at Costco 😭
really?!?! that's so surprising! sometimes things are only at costco for a limited time too so if you don't go during that window then they might not have it 😭 I hope some of these items come to your costco soon though!! ❤

South Seattle (by the SeaTac area) Costco definitely have more Asian option than others, if you haven’t check it out yet!
Federal Way, Lynnwood, and Redmond Costco may have more Asian items as well!

People don't know. But in Bay Area, the classic Middle School Party is Pizza (I prefer Little Cesar's, but Costco Pizza worked) and Eggrolls (in my area, the go to will always be King Eggroll). It sounds like a weird combo, but 30 years later, It's still a comfort food combo for me haha.
In Los Angeles, any school pizza party involved Little Caesar's pizza too. They used to male the party size but in my small town, they don't have the party size

My family doesn't shop at Costco(we're Sam's Club shoppers) but I like watching these videos. We bought a bottle of Lee's coffee to try at an Asian store we don't shop at very often. We thought it was delicious! I love those fish ice cream! We have them at our Hmart. Red bean's my favorite! I wish Sam's club carried more Asian items 😅
I felt the same way about the sauce. I use a rice vinegar, soy sauce and sesame oil sauce. So much better!!
I agree about the shrimp dumplings, I hated the sauce and actually threw it out, but the dumplings are good. I did it with soy and chili oil

So many Asian snacks at your Costco. I’m jealous. The most Asian things we have at Novato Costco are the most mainstream right now, like Buldak carbonara ramen and kimbap. The Costco in El Cerrito has the lumpia. Those are good, but I want more, especially the samanco/tayaki and Korean puffs.

I purchased the Chicken Katsu at Costco a year ago and wasn't impressed either. It is just sous video chicken breast that you dredge and coat. If you read the dredge ingredients, it's powdered milk & eggs. The breading is panko and regular bread crumbs. I'd rather purchase the new kirkland lightly breaded chicken chunks and a bottle of kikkoman katsu sauce.

You’re lucky to have all those Asian products @ your Costco. The Costco here in Cleveland had the pork lumpia a year ago & have not brought it back. Those were so delicious & was so easy to have on hand but sadly Costco hasn’t brought it back😢.

Samanco is my favorite to get from the Korean supermaket. haha I like the original with the layer of red bean though. The outside wafer part is kinda like the outside shell of monaka, which I also like. lol
I didn’t get the katsu because I read the instructions and thought it had too many steps. 😅😂 I’d rather order it at a restaurant! Thanks for the video.

That's such a good deal for the coffee! We buy a box of 24 where I live for $130 so it comes out to almost $6 a bottle. Soooo good though.

Ooooo i hope my costco gets the Vietnamese coffee. I like the spring rolls ive gotten from costco before, i eat them with duck sauce packets though. Really hope we get that kimbap too, love the trader joes one. The prawn hacao is great, agree the sauce isnt great (i eat them plain). The chicken katsu im surprised wasnt suggested to bread and fry twice. Might try it so i can more easily make some with the japanese curry cubes i have

They have dozens of Boba drink options and new snacks every time I go. I love the Seaweed Snax brand that they are stocking there! Highly recommend you try it out for a possible food tasting!! Congratulations to you and Bird! I wanted to comment that as I was eating the Harcao sauce I was thinking what IS that flavor? What does it remind me of? But I couldn't place it. Finally I got it. It's Worcestershire sauce! Isn't it? And I also thought it doesn't go with them. Just good plain light soy like in a tea room.

My Costco has most of those. The only option for gimbap was the tofu one and I’d much rather tuna! Also’ about a year ago I bought the chicken katsu and did NOT expect to have to bread it myself. It was pretty good, but I won’t buy it again. I could make my own and it would be easier and taste better! lol.

Ohh so I’m not alone. 😂 I had the same reaction when I had the hacao shrimp with its sauce. It’s like wait what. Let me try again and what the heck lol. The sauce does taste weird but the dumplings are good.

Now, sorry but I 100% disagree on the gimbap. I tried them immediately when I saw them 2 weeks ago in the frozen section. Love Korean food, especially the gimbap. I normally order it every other week or so from a Korean restaurant. So I was so excited yet confused how it would work knowing you had to microwave it.
Sadly, my intuition was correct. After microwaving it for the 2 mins, it came out piping hot. I let it cool down and tried a piece. The seaweed was soggy. The spinach smelled and the flavor was non-existent. Overall, I hated it. It’s the only food product I’ve ever returned at Costco.
