Chang did have some good moments in the later Seasons but overall, he became insane, scary, evil, and meaner in the later seasons.
Yeah he was a great character who still had some great moments but the show just couldn't find the right role for him after his Spanish teacher role ended

Back in the day it was common to call black people dirty in very demeaning ways for like shampoo ads and stuff. While I will say this show is funny. It definitely is sort of a fucked up joke as well.
