I find it hilarious the first potential shot of this figure is him playing a miniature piano. Overall looking really good, though that's quite a bit of truck folded on his back. Definitely excited for the final reveal, as Commander Class Prime is literally the last TF I plan to preorder this year.
So many people were swearing up and down that SS86 PRIME was gonna be a retool of Earthrise, and look what we’re actually getting. And people are still complaining he has a backpack. For a mainline PRIME, this is as good as it gets. I’m buying it.
Many people are worried for the backpack, but I'm pretty sure it's not fully transformed. This pic is from a behind the scenes stop motion video, so it's very likely the transformation is manipulated for more mobility to make the movie.
He has at the very least the same hands as Rodimus or Ultra Magnus. He can point his index finger at two points on its own and the other 3 fingers are attached with 2 points of articulation
100% going to be THE definitive Optimus Prime figure. Just still a little upset with the backpack, especially considering that ER did it pretty much perfectly on nearly half the budget... Other than that this is 👌💯
ER is MP-10. SS'86 is MP-44. This is a shrunk down version of that. And that has a backpack and a half...so Im kinda done with the backpack thing already

I’m glad that they didnt reuse the earthrise mold, as to how much I love the ER mold, I’d like a better one bc ER primes leg is too long and arms too short.

Also look at the past they want to milk a mold especially when a new mold is coming out soon that is a top 10 character ie prime Megs so they get every penny from ppl till the new mold & do it all over agin!
This looks a lot like the third party legends scale version. Hasbro could totally use the third party figures as blueprints. What are they companies gonna do? Sue Hasbro for stealing the character they stole themselves?
The figure iself will likely be no larger than voyager or even a small leader, so there better be a lot of accessorys to justify the comander price tag

legacy United G1 prime will be a deluxe, but SS*^ will be commander class - more than likely a voyager with a much more substantial trailer. Imo there is room for both!!!
If this is true, it goes automatically on my Amazon Pre-order. I dilly dallied with Gears, Ultra Magnus, and Swoop and being in Canada it means death sentence for me ever paying one at retail and me having to pay the idiot tax. Ultra Magnus is so hard to find here that people are scalping it for like $300 Canadian when it's only supposed to be $130ish.
I just hope this guy isn't engineered with hip skirts, I mean if they didn't engineer him with the same hip engineering as kingdom rodimus, that will be very disappointing. Hip skirts just hinder the articulation.

Thank Primus this isn’t a retool of the Earthrise Optimus. I hate the proportions of that figure. Short little body with long legs. This looks like a proper representation of a G1 Animation Optimus. Does he have a bit of a chunky backpack? Yeah, but this is a mainline release. They took the complex MP-44 and simplified it in Chug scale. That alone is impressive. I agree that this could very well be the G1 Optimus to end all G1 Optimus’. We’ll know for sure when we see more images. ^^

Don't like the backpack, but that's pretty accurate. Earth rise was close to perfection, wheels on his back and gray inner legs aside.
ER was close, but it always reminded me of MP-10. This is much better imo!!!
well he does have a jetback in the show, but is kinda bulky here. Still better than earthrise or later releases with the wheels showing in the back.

For me, between this and Legacy United G1 Prime... it's a tough one. I've a soft spot for the OG screen-accurate transformation process.
