Thank you. Yes that reel was sent back already under warranty. Bates is newer to market so learning from issues. They have upgraded items for the reel they are going to install.
Happy New Years. I have found that bass fishing in the winter that slow retrieve is best. I did notice that your retrieve with the texas rig was slow. However, when using the top water or the crank bait, it appeared pretty fast. I wasn't sure of the crank bait you were using but I prefer a flat sided crank bait in the winter as it has a slower wiggle movement than the round bodied crank baits. I also retrieve slowly with good results. Sometimes, if I'm not getting a strike, I even retrieve slower. Great video and informative.
Happy new years as well Darrell. Yes my crank retrieve was probably too fast but I was trying to warm up. Haha. If it was warmer I would have done a full day but not good in the cold anymore. I needed to dress warmer. It’s going to be fun this year. See you soon.
thanks for this video! makes me want to fish Moultrie, not sure which camp you were at, but the bass fishing looked great, wish you luck on your move🏠 still keep me in mind on the PA14, currently rigging up my Bite FD but ready to fish any time Happy New Year Ryan
I was at a small ramp on Marion. Not a big fan of Moultrie. I usually try to go where it’s quiet. PA14? I no longer have that kayak. Thanks for wishing me luck on move.
Happy New Year as well buddy. Yes I do not or cannot handle the cold anymore. I was just in PA and the river is frozen. No thanks. I am hoping to do good this year with me and Tyler. We will try our best. Catch you soon.
The good old days of dragging a sled and gas auger. Not it’s nice with the cordless drills and fancy sleds. It was definitely a good time when I use to do it. Getting a fire started on the ice and BBQ. Was a good time.
Tough start with the drag but happy to see you got on them!

Keep giving it your best Ryan! Thank you sir!
Thanks Dave. I appreciate it

Happy New Year Ryan! I am jealous you’re on the water. It’s a little cold up here in New York. Good luck in your tournament fishing this year.

@ yes I agree. I may try to get out and do some ice fishing this year if we ever get ice just to get out of the house.
