Really love the 430, several years with mine already and I never get tired of this car! The combination of the change to the modern but still with an older analog touch was just right on this car!
Coupe all the way... If the 430 was a hard top spider like the 458,488 etc. perhaps the spider, but the cloth top never looks good closed. Could also be that I own a 430 coupe... who knows!! lol Craig from Indy
You got some pinch marks on the top of the spider canvas. Gotta adjust that support bar or replace straps soon. That’s my ONLY gripe with the spider - all of the unreliability and maintenance is in the top. That’s why I’ve been thinking about just making a removable hard top for it and throwing that dumb top away… Or at least converting it to a manually operated item. It can be manually operated anyway, with a few mods, it seems like it’s possible to get rid of all these complicated hydraulics and just always take 5 minutes to put the top up on your own.
@@normalguysupercar Yikes. I wonder if they screwed up the elastic straps then? I also found that when you are adding the main canvas top there is a piece of fabric that connects the top to the main cross bar. It wraps around the back of the bar, which means the straps have to do most of the work pulling that bar back when it folds. But if you actually wrap that fabric piece around the front of the bar, then the canvas top itself pulls the bar back instead of the straps, so then the straps don’t matter much anymore. In other words, the factory installed the fabric backwards (IMO). Lol… I’m sure you’re not surprised.
Prefer the spider as that’s the one I bought a few years ago. Absolutely love it, problem free. By the way, thanks for showing in another vid about the Hill engineering wheel spacers. Bought them, big difference, especially in appearance.
Nice video Dan! I do prefer the coupe due to not having to deal with top issues, but they spyders do allow the glorious exhaust note to be heard. Did the same person own both cars? Lol. What are the odds of you having two cars with the Daytona seat colors like that, leather inner door sills and challenge wheels. I want that carbon center section for my steering wheel!
Both cars do fall within what some would either call a resale spec or "My first Ferrari spec". Rosso Corsa on tan with Daytona seats is not exactly rare.😀
I really enjoy your videos. They are fun and informative. Both 430s are just splendid. I am interested in an Antigravity battery for my 2006 Maserati Gransport. Does the Gransport take the same AG battery model that fits a 430? The powerplants are very similar. In the Gransport, the battery sits in the trunk behind a panel on the RHS.
It has nothing to do with power plants, but everything to do with room. Your car takes the AG H6. Make sure you get the 60ah version as your car is power hungry.
Also depends on your road conditions. If you are in a place with really nice roads, even when you start to push, you notice it less. If you are in a place with crap roads as is the case in many places in the US, even just driving along can cause the car to shimmy and flex around you. But the F430 is not the worst in this regard.
Still waiting on the update concerning Adam! How is he!? Also, love how Ferrari left the engine visable on the Spider! Great education Dan! Best - Mike
Spider is better because it doesn’t matter as much when the a/c breaks which it frequently does. And you can hear the motor better. And let’s be real the extra weight doesn’t matter on the road
Instantly noticed the gated manual version you were driving! Would you say it’s worth the huge premium over the equivalent F1 cars? Been eyeing both but have been discouraged by how big of a disparity there is in pricing.
@normalguysupercar looking forward to seeing it completed. I have owned a few locations for my business, and I hated the build-outs. Some locations require a licensed contractor to complete the work and others not so much.
For me it's drop top 90% of the time. I'm aware that there are some drawbacks, but on the read, especially here in Europe where I am, the difference in stiffness is manageable. Can obviously depend of which car it is, but in a car like an 812 GTS, SF90 or F8, drop top every single time. The F430 is the same for me. Not a track car anyway, so just chop the top and give me that open top experience. The exception for me is the 458. I really don't like the Spider. Not sure how they made that so wobbly.
hello dan I can have some advice on how to change my clutch on a 4.2 liter Maserati F1 I removed the entire exhaust line, unscrew the clutch housing, remove all the cables, unscrew all the screws of the front and rear driveshaft, but I I have a problem getting the transmission shaft out, do I have to remove the gearbox? certainly but how can you explain to me, I stall at this level my car is on the bridge do you have a technical repair manual ? many thank for your answer .

Totally agree! It's the last of a generation
I prefer Spyders. Yes, I know they weigh more but I have always liked convertibles.
Yeah it's really a preference thing
Very nice you bought Christain's car. Very well taken care of! It's been gone through very well and all sorted for the next buyer!
Yes it is!
It's the Spyder for me!! It's a glorious car to drive in So Cal!!!
Indeed
I like that you don’t lose the view of the engine on the F430 Spyder like you do on many others. (Coupe when tops closed and Spyder when it’s open.) 😜
Totally agreed
Coupe all the way... If the 430 was a hard top spider like the 458,488 etc. perhaps the spider, but the cloth top never looks good closed. Could also be that I own a 430 coupe... who knows!! lol
Craig from Indy
Yeah agreed
Great video. You did a great job explaining the differences between the two cars.
Thank you! 👍
Great video! Thanks for detailing all the nuances between both models. Still not sure which I would choose 😄
I'm not sure there's a wrong answer
Not only are the wheels the same, the interior looks similar as well !!! Nice specs.....
Yeah, only major difference is the black piping on the coupe.
Coupe with a manual is the best configuration of an f430
Agreed
Great comparo Danno! I can't decide so only logical choice is to take both!
Lol the best option
I prefer the Spyder. I drove the 360 Spyder and the sound of the engine behind you is glorious
It really is
Coupe for the win!
Generally
Great show Dan
Thanks
Dan, on the Spyder do you push the button to lower the top and hold the button to put the top back up?
It's a rocker switch. Hold back to lower, hold forward to raise.

Yeah, and that's a new top!!

2 different people but ironically, we bought both from people in San Antonio.

@@AB-80X Super! Thank you!
How much stiffer is the coupe? Driving both back-to-back, is it very noticeable?
It's noticable when playing but not as much just driving normally

They also have another thing in common, they're both way out of my price range. 😂 Great video though. 👍
Haha nice

He is no longer with the company

Eh the AC is reasonably reliable on the f430.
@@normalguysupercar not on mine or my 360, maybe I’m unlucky
I think the coupe looks better, but the sound of the engine & exhaust with the top down on a spider is tough to beat!
Yeah
Coupe. Always. For every car that has both options.
Agreed
f430 spyder is my favorite looks really good
I prefer the coupe but it's a great looking car
Spider for me. All of our fun cars are Spiders; 650S, F430, 300ZX and 3000GT.
Nice

Yeah, the manual really changes the personality.
No contest, clearly a convertible wins every time!
Eh I prefer the coupe but that's just an opinion
No spyders for me, I like hard tops though. Still Both are beautiful machines
Yeah you can't go wrong
Coupe for me Mr.Dan 👍
Agreed
Performance drivers prefer the coupe, show offs drive the convertible
Basically.
🙄
Here we go...off to the dealership, you have work to do.
Yup

I wouldn't know as I've never done that job before and don't have the service manual
@@normalguysupercar ok dan thank
Spyder 💯 and it looks way better as well
I looked like a burned lobster once, after a day-long drive in a Targa. I put the top back on and never took it off after that... lol
LOL! Yup, that's me.
SPF 50?😀
the spider is a MUCH better car ! used to be all real sports cars were verts we love ours !
It's nice to drop the top
First! Good Day for a side by side!
Yes indeed
spider = they look cooler
With the top down
Coupé 100%
Yup
Coupe > Spyder
They always look better ... Plus you don't have to worry about it breaking
Agreed
Haha!! I gotta say it. Chickens live in an coup,,,a car is an coupe'.
Yeah yeah...
@normalguysupercar like I said,,I had to be "that guy" . I gotcha,,great vids,,keep up the good work!!
Did I spot a Lamborghini in the garage?
Yes
@@normalguysupercar Better luck selling this one. I remember how much of a PITA the last one was.
Doesn’t it depend on how hot your wife or girlfriend is? 😂
LOL true story in our fantasies.
Coupe, less stuff to break. And over 40 people need to stay out of the sun....
Skin Cancer and wrinkles 🤪
LOL yes. I qualify for that.
Wear a wig... problem solved! 😛
True...
