Thank you so much for that, Chris. My hope here is to provide materials so that individuals can work with their voices and pursue their singing goals with good technique and information. Thank you for your recognition. I appreciate it! Thanks also for subscribing!
Best,
Jeff
I like the new pattern you added to this warmup. It's always a little bit of a challenge at first to remember the melody and vowels associated with new ones, and I greatly enjoy that. I especially enjoy it when I feel like they unlock a new part of my voice I hadn't been able to access before. Thank you as always, Jeff!
Awesome! Thanks for that! Thanks for subscribing too! Yes, the new pattern! Glad you enjoyed it! A bit of fun sustain practice!
Best,
Jeff
The feeling I got when I saw a new Vocal Warm Up in my youtube feed is as close as the Christmas morning feeling ahah! Thanks Jeff, you help thousands of people with these, keep rocking!
That makes me feel so good. Thank you for that! Enjoy the warm ups and thanks for watching! Thanks if you've subscribed!

You're the best, Jeff! Thanks for all you bless us with!
Yay. New tenor warm up! Awesome. Thanks Jeff! You’re the best.
You're welcome! Enjoy! Thank you for subscribing!
Jeff
Jeff, I just started using your warm-ups and am wonderfully surprised at how I've progressed after not singing for a few years. As we have corresponded you know that I'm 75 and thought maybe my voice had atrophied beyond regaining some strength! I'm am thrilled with the gentle emphasis you put in the warm-ups and I'm singing like I'm 65 not 75...THANK YOU...Jim Wilson
Thank you, Jim! That's really wonderful to hear! Thanks for watching and your support!
Jeff
A new warmup! What a nice Sunday morning surprise!! Thank you Jeff
This is my new favorite!!! Thank you so much!
Excellent timing!! Just getting ready to warm up ♥️ thank you very much sir.
Enjoy!
Great workout! The last exercise is my favorite.
Yes! New tenor warm-up. These are so helpful for contraltos, too. It's really difficult to find these in our range. Alto exercises are just too high. :)
Excellent - this one is in the same range:

@@JeffRolka Thank you! I really appreciate it. =}
The new scale is very enjoyable. Thank you very much for providing it.
You're very welcome, Xing Jian. Glad you liked it! Thanks for all your support!

hi Jeff, great vocal workout. this vídeo is full of ability... agility over the passaggio and sustaining...also appoggio and breath control. Bravo maestro!! 🎤🎹🎶
Thanks to this warmup my A4 has gotten more secure and I even hit the b flat 4 (highest I've ever gotten). Going to do this every day!
I always love having more variety in this range.
Thanks! I appreciate that! Enjoy!
Jeff

Hello Jeff! Great video!
Thank you very much!
Jeff
Hey Jeff, thanks again. I was feeling phlegmy this morning so I did my very best to stay relaxed against my reflex to muscle through the exercises. I did lip trills on the last one.
Do you know how to not get phlemgy? I struggle with it every day and it's not cause I'm sick or have post nasal drip. However I do wake up every morning with my throat and mouth feeling extremely dry so I wonder if that is the reason why. Maybe I just produce extra phlegm to protect things from drying out. I've tried cough drops, tea, Vicks vapor rub and all that but to no avail. You know of anything that works for you?
@@nikov4543 I haven't had it that bad while not ill. When I am ill, or extra phlegmy, I drink something warm and remember not to overdo it bc that will make things worse.
@@ibear2554 Thank you!
This one became one of my favourites. Thanks a lot for that wonderful Training =)
You're so welcome!

Nice.
13:07 is a Great warm up
Amazing exersize! Hi Jeff Greetings from Greece. I am a long time subscriber and follower of your channel. May i can please have a request for one more of two of your Baritenor video involving agility and higher and lower note exercises within that range? Thanks!
Thank you for watching and thanks for subscribing all this time! Absolutely! More baritenor videos are on the way.
Best,
Jeff
Can you please do another Questions From Comments? I really enjoy those!
I will. I have the next two planned out. I think I have at least one question from you in there too! Thanks! Just pacing myself a bit.
Best,
Jeff
@@JeffRolka Alright!
YES?!
As usual- wonderful! Can you explain nthe highest Notes demonstrated, and how i can strengthen that zona?
Tenor range singing warm ups that go over the secondo passaggio generally go to the area of about a4. I would advise you, however, to try to figure this out on your own, as it's easier than it may seem and will help with your ear training as well.
There are numerous free piano apps for mobile devices or you can try this website:
www.musicca.com/piano
Just so we're clear, I have no affiliation with that website.
When you come to the note in question, just pause the video, but keep singing the note. Pluck around on the piano until you find it, and then of course, you'll know the note.
It is important to make these associations as vocalists, so that we come to know the physical feeling of the range that notes are in.
As for strengthening that area of your voice, that's what the exercises are for! Keep working at it!
All the best,
Jeff
@@JeffRolka thanks again Jeff, I like the virtual piano ☺️
Wonderful warm-up, one of my favorites of yours!! Pedagogically, I’m wondering why you seem to gravitate towards [e] as your main access vowel. Thanks so much again!!!
AWESOME QUESTION!!!
Over the years I have found [e] to be narrow enough to help the vocal folds stay adducted, but easy enough to modify through the zona di passaggio and ultimately over the secondo passaggio as to help the vocalist remain adducted (closed vocal folds) so that the sound remains consistent. One might say that this helps the vocalist avoid 'slipping into falsetto' though I don't typically use that phrasing. I hope that answers your question!
Thanks for commenting and subscribing!
Jeff
@@JeffRolka Oh wow! Never thought about that, but that is a really great point. Would love if you did a video one day specifically on vowel modifications and how best to use this to navigate through the passagi and up into the rafters.
Thanks so much for your input and all your hard work!
Sure. I've done some vowel modification videos before, but not so much explaining the technique of it. Just practicing the changes. Thanks for a great question!
Best,
Jeff
Anyone else struggle with how fast the last exercise is?? Like I thought I was a good singer but it is hard for me to get it that fast and still stay clear!
Hey Jeff. I’ve been using your warm ups for about a year, and I’ve noticed massive improvements in my technique and tone so Thank you. I’m sure you’ve answered this somewhere but I can’t find it; I am still having trouble on the “i” and “u” vowels (as is ‘bee’ and ‘boot’). I’ll take a vowel exercise and eh, ah, oh will all feel great and fine and groovy, but the same exercise with “i” and “u” feels tight, constricted and sounds yucky. Any advice on that? Thanks again for all you do
Hello! Thanks for your. kind words and thanks for subscribing! A great question! Those narrow vowels need to be reconciled against the wider vowels. The way to do this is to take them in turn, /i/ and /u/, and put one of them in between a wider vowel. A good way to start with this is with the /e/ vowel ( as in, 'hey'). You can work on it a bit in this video,
ruclips.net/video/vazxB-7f1Mk/видео.html
but if /i/ and /u/ are really problematic, it would be best to isolate them.
Thanks for watching!
Jeff
this one's cool
Nice! Enjoy!
Jeff
I'm only able to hit the B4 and C5 with my "headvoice" are you supposed to Hit the notes with your chestvoice?
Great question. The goal is voce piena in testa, the sound of chest voice in head voice.
Best,
Jeff
I would like to ask are these warm ups just warm us or is it also a vocal work out. Because some differentiate between the two. Or is it a combo
Great question. You can use these videos to warm up, but they are also constructed to pace your practice and help with overall vocal production. The sequence of vowels and exercises is constructed to maximize vowel alignment and ease of transition over the break (the secondo passaggio).
Best,
Jeff
@@JeffRolka thank you for the quick response.. Very helpful videos and I'm currently trying out your your triple a method
Hey Jeff, I was wondering what some of your favourite singers are!
Great question Martim! I'm all over the map. I love Thom Yorke. Phoebe Bridgers, John Moreland. Sting (Police, most albums up to Mercury Falling). Jeff Buckley, Paul McCartney. Bon Iver. Chris Martin. There's no single classical vocalist I listen to the way that I listen to pop artists. For classical, it's on a piece by piece basis and I tend to admire the work that an individual has done on a particular piece.
Best,
Jeff
@@JeffRolka Cool! Some very familiar names as well as some new ones to check out!
Can you recommend a classical piece you've heard recently?
Hey Jeff I wonder if I cannot reach top 2 to 3 notes depending on the day should i stop or go into falsetto?
Great question! When you know those keys are coming, switch over to the lip trill for those scales, then go back to the vowels once you're descending again. Do that for a few weeks to work into the transition and then try the vowels, allowing for an increase in engagement (support) and vowel modification to facilitate the flexibility in the vocal fold. See if that helps and leave a comment!
Jeff
@@JeffRolka Thank you very much, will do. I must add that I recently discovered your channel and it's been amazing what your lessons have been able to provide for me. I used 30 day singer to begin my vocal practice journey but it felt like they couldn't give me what i needed anymore and I started to doubt my future on singing. This has given me a new hope and my voice definitely is getting better by the day. You are very appreciated.
Best practices to get the girl?
Yoooooooooo I could do it but again (pfft) it’s ok that am loud during those high notes right?
It's about how you're achieving the volume. If you're forcing it, I would suggest that there is another way that is more productive. If not, you may be alright. I'd have to work with you in a lesson to really say, however.
All the best,
Jeff
@@JeffRolka alright….thanks :D
