Hey Jeff just wanted to say thank you for these vids. Doing your warmups everyday helped me do this. ruclips.net/video/6FvtvmCyqmA/видео.htmlsi=7LUilOdfaTGCP19s
Whoa!!!! A big heartfelt congratulations to you!!! I am so happy that the warm ups have served you well and hope that they continue to do so! Great work - keep it up! Keep us in the loop around here!
Absolutely! I send all my singer friends to your page when they need warmups and exercises! And thank you!
I'd like to make a petition for Jeff Rolka to be nominated for a Grammy. This is the best 20 minute vocal warmup of all time for tenors. It gets the placement perfectly in the nasopharynx so none of the vowels fall back. It being 20 minutes means you won't be fatigued afterwards. You are incredible.
Fantastic! So glad this is working for you!
Thank you for watching and the nomination! ;-)
Jeff
So agree. Thank you so much Jeff. Really appreciate you!
I don't know if this helps anyone else but I tend to write down the vowels of the exercise:
ME I
ME U
ME A
ME O
E EU U
E A O
A O OOH
I E A O U
E A O U I
UH O A E I
O A E I UH
E A O
E A O U I
Great vocal exercises, thanks Jeff!
ur actually the best for doing this lol
Let's put this way: love your warm ups!
That was EXTREMELY challenging. But I’ve done 3 months of your regular warm up, then 1 month of adding another 15 of the vocal agility and that REALLY helped with this one! Wow. Like vocal Olympic. Thank you!
Jeff, I was having such a hard time focusing this morning and I have been worried that perhaps my range is decreasing bc I have been singing in lower keys for my band. I started doing lip trills bc I couldn't remember the vowels. Then, as I got used to the second to last pattern, I opened my lips and tried the syllables and I realized I was pretty high already! Then, you picked up the pace and that really helped me get my head back in the game! I had such a good time I found myself laughing! I don't know why, but I was so happy. Man, I don't know how you got so comfortable with the camera, but it is like I'm in the studio with you--minus how you might react to my reactions. Thank you for building up your skills so that you can make these videos more than instructive but connective. I'm almost positive that is not a word outside of Biology as a subject. Any how, I'm grateful. God bless you!
Thank you so much for this lovely comment. It really made my day! I am so glad that my sincere hope to help folks sing as best that they can comes through. I am doubly happy to hear that the video helped you smile and laugh a bit and hopefully brightened up your day! Thank you for being here and thanks for being such an amazing part of the channel!
Jeff
your warmups are my favorite. They got me singing again after i quit smoking :)
This warmup is incredible!
Jeff this was ultimately soothing yet initially challenging on my slightly fatigued voice from last nights performance.
Feeling much better about todays gig :)
Totally agree on Grammy nomination!!
You’re a star
Glad to hear you're feeling better about the gig! Break a leg!
Sexy huskiness plus plus
Was an outdoor street party for road opening, then a few hours around the fire pit. Voice was on point for entire time, next morning in van straight back into your tenor exercises and ready for action :)
I know as a student we have to DO the work day in day out. No two ways about it.
And It pays off.
Following a teacher like you makes the journey so much more reassuring!
Can’t recommend you to enough other musos I meet when they compliment my voice!
As always amazing. Having a recording and music production studio many artists don’t warmup and I always point them to your videos. Thank you again!
Thank you so much, both for watching and sending people to the channel! I really appreciate it!
Jeff
Without any further ado at 0:26 😉 Thanks Jeff! 🐯

Thanks a lot! This exercise works for me not only as a voice practice, but as a violin one. Extremely helpful!
Thanks for another fantastic warmup!
Thank you Martim! I appreciate it! Thanks also for subscribing and chatting with me here in the comments!
Best!
Jeff
Thanks a million Jeff! I've been doing your warmups daily for a couple of years now and my voice has transformed in no small part thanks to you! I think this might be my new go to!
Putting this one on my list of 'upper register focus day' warm ups. For some reason, it works really well for me. Very good video. Thank you.
Jeff your warmups and workouts are always so great, but today you managed to nail the amount of time I had down to the second! As I finish this warmup, my week begins! Uncanny timing 😄 Thank you always!
Thank you Jeff! What a discovery, again. This warm up is incredible, you are incredible!! Thank you, as always!!
Best warm up video ever! Thank U so much. Iconic v coach. Blessings 🎵🎤🌟
I hadn't seen this one before! Where was I? That was a bit challenging. It pushed me to go to very high notes I hadn't used in a long long long time. Sure my vocal cords weren't used to be worked out at that height and I could feel it. But at the same time I felt that it was just lack of exercise. I'll keep trying to make them sound better. :) Great warm up
Doing the long notes to finish is really good. Interestingly, my sax teacher wants me to practice long notes too (but at the start as a warm up). And I want to say that by doing everything in this video, I was able to go above Bb4 and feel no tension. Thank you Jeff!
Wonderful! Long tones on the saxophone are great! I usually do them with my tuner and do a variety of intervals over the tonic to hear and feel the intervals.
Thank you!
Jeff
I only use my youtube app to watch Jeff Rolka for vocal warmups and warmdowns 🤣
Your videos are helping me a lot, daily. Thanks much!
i would LOVE it if you did a really long video thats just the last exercise but all the way up and all the way down the tenor range.
its very soothing for some reason and im trying to work on straight tonening it and then adding vibrato and thats by far the best exercise ive seen you do for it
ruclips.net/video/kxzdZT586jU/видео.html
This is very good Jeff. Please do something to help with vibrato mine is oscillating faster than a helicopter fan.
LOVE THESE WARMUPS
You're doing a great job jeff , thanks for all these videos.
Awesome. Thanks Jeff 👍
Wow. .. what a work out. Merci
This was a great vocal warm up! Earned a subscriber🤝💯
Thank you! I appreciate it!
All the best!
Jeff
A solid piece of work. My second time. Merci
I like the very soft voice sentence at The end "and there you go tenors"
Hello Jeff! Thank you for all your work, it lifts my spirits whenever I do your exercises, which bc of work and other demands is four times weekly I'd say. For half an hr or so. Is it possible to progress with this routine do you think? And how does one reach the point where they are competent in that exhilarating but brutal last exercise?? My warmest regards, Will
Great question, Will! I'm going to answer you in Questions from Comments 51!
Could you make this exact warmup in minor as well? I really like singing full scales in a challenging speed!
Amazing warm up, as always... I have a request. Can you put the Rossini scale pattern into a tenor warm up someday? It's my favorite pattern. Regards from Argentina! 🇦🇷
Sure! I have already done that, though, I'm just not exactly sure which videos have it. At any rate, I'll do that in the next few weeks!
Thank you!
Jeff
Thank's a lot !
that was bumpy ride lol Beginning is like for amateurs and towards the end it becomes so advanced, fast and difficult :)
Sometimes I go a bit overboard with the 'progressive' aspects of these things. I do want to make sure there's a bit of a challenge though, maybe something to work at a bit.
Thank you for watching!
Jeff
@@JeffRolka yes it is, on second day it was much easier to keep up so there is a progress as always, still much work to do. Thank you!
14:22 exercise with entire major scale (I like)
Careful, this video goes from level one to 100 back to one!
Hey Jeff, thanks so much for this workout. Quick question, what’s the last exercise known as in fancy terms (when you hold one note over changes?)
In singing, one might think of it as a messa di voce exercise, but in purely musical terms, one might call it a drone.
I hope that helps! Thanks for watching!
Jeff
This one’s hard 😳 should I be in falsetto for the highest of highs here?
Depends on the variety of tenor you might be, but most likely just crico thyroid dominant singing voice sung as voce piena in testa.
hey! how about you let us hear you rip on the piano?!?!
I really consider myself to be more of a 'piano operator' as opposed to those who can actually make art with it. It's an amazing instrument that I use everyday, but rip, sadly, I do not! Thanks for being here!
Jeff
@@JeffRolka love your lessons...thank you for doing what you do!
don't do this at 2x speed.
Second comment yaaay
